O'ahu covers a lot of ground and is the most populated Island in Hawai'i.

I vaguely remember either place except one is on O'ahu in a touristy area, the other is on another Island away from everthing, I remember we had to take a jeep after we got there and it was a long bumpy ride but worth it once we got there...Allan is supposed to be bringing some more of Judy's plants by later so I will ask him for sure...part of me says yes buy them cause the price he offered me is ridiculously low, but lets face it I'm never gonna be able to afford the flight to get there

Sounds like the long bumpy ride might have been here on the Big Island. 'Ohi'a trees are very abundant here, and it is the only Island that takes a long time to get somewhere.
Real Estate prices are constantly falling here, and you may or may not be getting offered a good deal.
Many places have been abandoned because of the poor realty market, and lack of infrastructure here.

5 grand for both places sounded good to me.

Both Have houses the one in touristville is very modern, I'm not into modern. The one on the other now that one was built for a plant addict that likes to bake...notice I said bake, not cook, and it is definately an awesome deal, but like I said I'd never be able to afford a flight there to visit

Cassia javanica is a large tropical legume tree. It won't live too long where you are. If you want to grow a Cassia / Senna type flowering tree it's best to get one that does not require so much room.

Stictocardia beraviensis is a woody climbing vine of the Morning Glory Family. You might do okay with that one.

Are you sure the properties are 5 grand? That's a steal for undeveloped lots. For houses that's a giveaway.

Ok this is gonna sound funny...I worked with Judy for 10 years side by side everyday doing our jobs and chatting about everything, well one day I had to go to a family dinner with my Mom and Step-dad (a very long time family friend) to a family dinner at his brothers house.... so basically my uncle and Aunt...turns out the uncles wife is (well was) Judy's daughter, well when Judy got sick the only ones who would come to visit her and help allan take care of her and not treat her any different was me and my mom, mom does not fly period and that's all there is to it So allan talked to me about it briefly the other day when he brought some of Judy's plants to me, he only wants to sell to someone who wouldn't tear up Judy's gardens, and keep it in the family so to speak..and I guess the girls (my Aunt Tommra and her sister Tasha) decided I was the best choice and they picked the price, considering Tasha is a Real Estate Fraud Prosecuter for the DA's office in Chicago, the price suprised me, If I don't want it they are going to sell the properties seperately and at market value, which the one most definately is soooooo over my budget it's not funny! I have until next friday to decide

Thanks Dixie, those flowers have a wonderful scent! I need to see the base of the plant where the stems meet the corm, with the old leaves pulled off so the ring of color (which is located there) is visible. A close-up of the leaves is also helpful. What color is the sap if you cut one of the stems?
I'm thinking it might be 'Lehua'.

OK, I think I just had one of the longest days ever. Well nights and days that is.

Went to work for midnight last night. At 7:20 AM the door bell rang. I knew right away what it was........State Inspector!
I have been working there for 5 years now and State has always missed our house some how.......LOL
Got the other houses a number of times, but always missed ours. I didn't mind ^_^
I had to call my supervisor right away and she asked me if I was sure it was someone from State....."rolling eyes here"
The lady handed me her card and also showed me her badge. (There are times I feel the need to shoot my supervisor!)
So anyway, I answered any questions that she asked me for the next 20 minutes, besides trying to take care of my clients.
Then the supervisor finally showed up and took over answering any questions and getting out books for her to go over.
By 10 AM the inspection was over and the state lady was headed out the door.
Our area director also came in, and when State left told me that I did a great job. She told me if I was nervous at all, I didn't look it at any time ^_^
After 5 years of no inspections at all, we passed with flying colors.

It gets better........
I didn't get done with State being there until 10 AM, and they wanted me back there for 2 PM for a staff meeting. The distance I have to travel didn't make it worth me coming home and going back in and coming home again. So I just tried to get a nap on the couch there after everyone was gone.
I finally got home at about 4 PM
Dang, that was a long day! Now I need a nap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Smiley, received your package tonight! The Kiwi Fern cuttings were just fine and they are in water now. The lily pod was all empty of seeds except for a few when it came.
The seeds are just paper thin and there were a lot in that pod! Thank you so much. They are both beautiful! I can't wait until I get them planted.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm sick of coleus and roses right now!

Kassy, what is the nature of your work? There is a program here that a friend of mine works for, they have homes for people with mental disabilities or problems, and what she does sounds just like what you do.

Moon, (and anyone else) here's the recipe for Ken Brown's insecticidal soap:

shave 1/2 bar of fels naptha into 1 quart of very hot water. Add 4 oz of dish soap (as an emulsifier). Boil the whole thing down into a jelly-type consistency.

Use 1/8 cup per 2-1/2 gallons water. We use about a teaspoon or so to a gallon of water, so it lasts a long time. Bill's notes also say you can add a little Healthy Pet Flea & Tick Shampoo to the final mix if you want to. (we never did)
