I'm a purist so to watch BF take a 1932 Ford Roadster and stuff a chevy big block in it I cried
She was a Gypsy Woman....
So Dave, tell us about the frog/toad!
I think the end of time (in human terms) could be fairly soon. We are certainly experiencing a population explosion for our species.
To expect that we can scrape the Earth for resources indefinitely without consequences to our species is a mistake.
Learning to live without standard conveniences will be a big step for people in the US, in the near future!
The results of large populations and attempts to control them often lead to disappointing circumstances.
some call it the end, some a change, and some a new beginning....I do believe with some recent events that Gaia is trying to clense herself
LOL JJ,
I like your idea there, but not sure if the dealer would go along with it.
BF has to contact is friend, because he thinks his friend is interested in the old on. Hey, that will help with car payments!
OK, I better get off her now, someone wants the computer.
I think I'm off here for the night to gonna go listen to some Davis or Coltraine this evening and unwind since I'm all alone!
I am going also. Really sleepy.
'Night everyone and have a sweet sleep!
Must be at the BF house.
Have a good night.
Nite trina and venice.
I am about ready myself.
Aloha ahaihi Dave and Rachel.
Ahuihou ( think I got that right)
hello and goodnight all you crazies! I was watching a movie and entertaining mom. it's saturday!
Venice, got the e-mail, will take a better look tomorrow.
Trina, I knew she made you list each plant in each pot, make them get rid of that car in your house, you need the room for more important things.
JJs, let the scan run all night! It may just fix your problem.
I saw Kassy's new car - nice deal!
Dave, a thought-filled commentary...
Goodnight everyone, I'll be here bright & early with the coffee!!!
goodnight friends...
goodnight dave's garden...
goodnight computer...
goodnight Moon....
Hey Rachel, The biggest tax on grid systems is a large dependence on refrigeration, lighting, heating, and transportation.
We have a huge habit of lawn mowers, electric can openers, toasters, microwave ovens, TV's, computers, night lights, etc.
When the grid system becomes unreliable (it has only been in place for half a century) folks will need to learn how to live without central power!
dave are you making us frogs legs for breakfast? ;)
remember the northeast blackout? wakey wakey
Kassy, nice wheels!
Rachel good to see you!
trina i totally pictured you lost in a house full of thousands of plants, barely able to get to the fridge *grin* we could send Venice in with a map..."let's see when she last posted she was somewhere between 4 coleus cuttings and a giant fern..." lol
Moon I love that pic.
Smiley where are you, sleeping in??
Where is everyone this morning?
It is 43 degrees here, 39 with wind chill factor!!!! Burrr!
Good Morning everyone. Been up, just not on the computer. Took a while to catch up. Kassy I really like your new car!
morning Venice! It's 54 here now, but they said "lake effect rain". What the heck is that, I ask? I've lived in Buffalo 40 years, never heard of lake effect rain. Lake effect snow, yes.
Hopefully I can take a little trip outside today and get your stuff!
tomorrow 70 degrees!!!
I just went back & re-read the other thread, the parts I wasn't around for. Trina, my daughter's best friend is obsessed with 2012 too, and she's only 16.
JJs, my boss just went through a bypass. Came through it fine. My friend's DH has had stents put in & came through OK too. Hoping DH's boss/friend is OK.
here is supposed to be nice when I get to go back to work. figures, weekends are crappy & weekdays are nice!
yesterday was nice, but my mom tends to follow me around and it was too cold for her outside.
hey I have sunshine for the first time in days!
The first one in Today's Articles mentioned making a leaf collection. That would be a cool idea of making a leaf collection of all our plants or even put a flower petal with it. My garden is really skimpy now but I kind of like that idea.
Years ago I dried tiny leaves and flower petals between sheets in a sketch book, pages more like heavy construction paper. I have even put them in a phone book. If a leaf or flower petal is thick, I added a facial tissue on both sides of them or try to cut out the thickest part. The Martha Stewart way of doing it is too comlicated for me and mine have turned out just fine. They get pretty fragile when they are dry and can crumble easily. I would use an Exacto knife blade to pick them up.
Like we don't have enough to do!!! This would be a good project for people who do scrapbooking!
Trina, glad the sun is finally shining over there. It is sunny here also. Everything seems much nicer when the sun shines!
Morning everyone,
Smiley can you believe that laptop is still not done running that diskck. It is finally on stage 5 at 16 % and the whole screen is list of bad clusters it replaced.
It will have to run better or not at all!!!
Maybe your seed list will help you get your seeds, etc. in some type of order. Maybe it would be a good idea to separate the seeds, bulb, cuttings, and plants in separate lists.
I still have plants to get into the ground and some that still need to come out so I'm glad to see the sun shinning, and that you are safe and sound and not unconscious next to your computer after reading that list! LOL
JJ, goodness!!! Your computer is sure working hard to get things fixed. I can't believe it is taking so long.!
What type of disk check is it running?
Good Morning All....Congratulations Kassy.....nice car.
Hi Rachel, how was your vacation?
Supposed to rain here today......figures....
Trina, do you want me to divide those things up on your list?
I am fine because I saw things to be put on that list in bits and pieces. It is wonder YOU aren't in a coma or something after seeing the list!!!
It is on the computer.
Not the scan disc
its another one that you get to by going to computer and clicking on the drive you want and then its under tools.I think it is called disck/r
I don't even know how I found it.
Well Carol my goal for today is to 1. not kill my puppy who peed all over my bed (again) cause BF insists she sleep with us...2. Not kill BF cause puppy peed all over the bed (again) and it's his fault. 3. Not kill my children when I wake them all up at 11 to do the work they have to do since they got to go to Skateland for the all night skate last night at $35 a kid! and 4. Not kill my BF when he takes off and leaves me here with the tired and cranky children who are going to whine, argue, and pick at each other so they can get out of doing the backyard as he always does, while I'm trying to remember if I'm here to be his GF or just the babysitter since I only see him between 1 and 3 am since I moved in a year ago!
Moon, it sure rains a lot down there!!!
Trina, this is terrible for me to even suggest it. But can you bribe them with something. Like fix their favorite food? Or, something good happens if they get done by a certain time?
Wow. I just took a look at your list, Trina.
Venice, you have more of that "Little Grapette' daylily? She got it from you, right? Or was that part of the list compilation conversation?
Trina those kids are old enough to watch themselves for a little while.
What I would do is when BF got ready to leave I'd beat him to the door. Say going out for the day kids are yours. If he left and they made a mess I would go on strike. Cook for me, laundry for me, clean for me.
Trust me they will get the idea you are not the maid.
positive, Venice. Good idea.
better idea, JJs!
good luck with your computer, I have to get on with my day.
JJ, good strategy!!!!
Smiley, I have given Trina nothing on that list except where it says -- Carol, 2 plants.
I don't know where she got the "Little Grapette' daylillies!!!!! She gets boxes and boxes of stuff and don't really know where they come from!!!!
Positive reinforcement never seemed to work with mine. Maybe I didn't do it right. They woud just want more.
But when it got time for them to go somewhere and they didn't have any clean clothes, or there were know clean dishes, they started paying attention.
You have to be determined though cuz it can get pretty bad. Just lock yourself in YOUR CLEAN room and ignore the whines while you are eating something they really like.
I know I'm MEAN!!!
Smiley I have a couple of those little grapette lilies.
But have to wait for next years blooms to make sure I know which ones they are.
I found the tag ( in a drawer) and I think I know where I planted them.
