Stopped mowing today to get neighbor to cut a window shutter for me to make a furnace door out of it. Had just a piece of drywall in front of it and looked tacky, so think with nice hinges this will work out just fine.

I use to love bookeeping, but have done so much clerical work over the years hammer and nails get my fancy now lol

that's pretty ingenious. I like hammer & nails.

ok phone calls are starting, Nephew had brain anurism about week and half ago and it was touch and go. He said a couple of words the other day and family members call me for updates. Catch up with yall later Enjoy your evening.

My mums always die so I wait for them to go on clearance and buy more. Noticed these said hardy only to zone 7. Figured didn't matter I would have them dead anyway.
Funny thing is if I buy a half dead plant they usually do better for me than the full price good- looking one.

aw shucks, JJs! Thanks! my mums usually die too and by gosh, they came back this year. Unfortunately I didn't know about the "knee high by the 4th of July rule" and they bloomed early. I'll see what happens next year.

I always buy those icicle pansies and they never come back either.

My neighbors either don't care about gardening, or got their stuff from me. There are some pretty gardens, but I don't know the people. That's blocks away.

I got most of my yard junk put away for winter today.
Town wide yard sales this weekend. Yea I can buy more stuff.
Then next Friday is clean up day, so I can go diggin in the trash.

Next Saturday I will be in your neck of the woods trina with my mom and two friends from Chicago for the scenic drive. That means pork chop sandwiches, onion rings, funnel cakes, and apple slices with caramel.

Yep. people throw away lots of good things. The night before when everyone is setting stuff out there are people in pickups driving round and round mostly grabbing up the metal stuff to sell for scrap. I have seen people get out of the car and sit on something while someone else goes and gets a pickup.

We are easily entertained around here. :)

contrary to my above post, Sam doesn't wear a collar either. Breeder scared us when we got him. She saw puppies hang themselves before on collars. he doesn't go running out, he's a scaredy-dog, so I don't worry too much about it.

Never thought I'd say it, but I'm sick of baseball. We don't watch those network shows that are on (OK-I admit. I like LOST) so there's nothing on but baseball and network shows. I abandoned ship for a little while.

true...and we have that here too kids drag home all kinds of things.....my 14 yo stepson, knows I like old schwinn bicycles and he found 3 on our clean up days and drug them home for me we'll some of you have seen my "broom" that was one of them...it's a 1950's.....I just love them...I even have me a 1958 Schwinn 3 wheeler with the big basket in the back...I love it...I'm working on painting it green and calling it "Toad" you know because people thing witches turn you into toads....then I have one with baskets and a luggage rack in the back and another basket in the front that we're gonna paint and call "Black Cat"

The reason I asked about the food is that I LOL'd all by myself earlier. This didn't happen overnight, but slowly evolved. The breeder we got Sam from feeds her dogs a raw diet. Sorry, I can't do that, but I do buy him human grade food. So then I had some leftover chicken (cooked) and put it in there.

Before I knew it, I was making "Sam soup" and "special cupcakes" as Angela calls them. I make up a soup (usually chicken) and put in rice, chopped celery, carrots, whatever he can have.

The I freeze it in cupcake tins, pop them out & put in a big container in the freezer. And add one to his dry food for dinner.

Am I crazy?? he's such a little guy, it goes far.

at this rate I'm gonna have to make her one...she has 2 sets of shoes....the pink mary janes, and a pair of pink snow boots to match her coat

Especially when they tell ya at the sell if they don't sell something its going out on clean up day.

We only have this clean up day once every 2 years. They will pick up anything for free so people really get rid of things.

Can't put out garbage or yard waste that they take on normal trash day.

well that's a fun thing to do. a co-worker gave Ang his daughters old banana seat bike a few years ago. one from the 70's. so retro. I passed it on to another co-worker, which I hated to do, but there's too many wrong bikes in this house and not enough right ones. I love my bike.

with all the recalled dog and cat food that happened here awhile back and all those pets dying NO your not crazy
