Good Morning!

Tubby thats great...LOL, I am assuming that calf, is a cow?
...and how are you running these days? Are you getting some of your spunk back and getting some good nighttime sleep?

Thanks Crissy...

Yep, I must say, house is coming along quite nicely. Today, "we" are having the well flushed.
Yikes for years we lugged gallons of water, and check this out.
The guy said he put the well in and to his knowledge has never been back to clean it.
LOL, UH, don't think anyone has! So will proceed and we should have beautiful Spring water!!
I am so excited at the prosect of having a big giant glass of Fresh Spring Water...
Going to ask Steve to lug one gallon home, so I can inspect it and give the old mom taste,
hehehe, i be da judge o dat...

Well, got a call from my brother, some not so good news and some excellent news.
Excellent news is they are coming this weekend. So praying all the rain holds off for nighttime.
He's coming to take down some trees, (a job, not ours) which is good cause we are now in need of firewood.

Today is to be rainy and chilly, so thinking about a nice fire, while I wor around.

Tubby and Shirley, you know that our prayers have been with you all along. There's hardly a day that goes by that Norm doesn't ask "What have heard from Tubby". He has truly taken a shine to the two of you. We will continue you keep you both in our prayers with special ones for a good outcome from the chemo and for the right conditions to go forward.
Norm goes for a PET scan on the 28th. We are hopeful too for a good outcome.
Blessings ...... Barb and Norm

Morning from raining Barrie..omg almost 2 weeks of rain, calling for much the same and it's our Thanksgiving weekend...plans to put everything away from the gardens (garden art) as it won't be long that white stuff will be on the ground.. guess I'll be working in the rain..I won't melt will I?

Caleb and Braedon called me last night to see if I was in the costume mode..Braedon already told me he wanted to be Ernie of Sesame Street..that costume is a piece of cake...Caleb wants to be the Vampire chicken...oooohhh what is a vampire chicken lol...October is always such a busy month for me....now to find out what Noah and Kyle want to be..speaking of Kyle, he'll turn 14 in Dec. - going for his 1st job interview next Wednesday hoping he can work at the Midland arena..

Bernie was at the house yesterday, finished off the deck, put new handles on all the doors..hoping to come Saturday to put new casing and door into workshop and help me close back deck in for the winter..that mixed with Thanksgiving makes for busy/busy...

Scheduling Nov. home workshop for family and friends (19th consecutive year) .. our project is a 46" deer for the lawn...now in search of round red electric bulbs for the nose..always something in my projects that I have to go in search for...

Went shopping for material for my Nov/Dec quilt block swap the other day, didn't find what I wanted but a serger jumped in my cart, said 'take me home, take me home!' had hoped to have time on my hands to play but doesn't look like it...

Gabby today aren't I...

I'll attach the photo of my sister Sharon and her showdogs...she lost 2 in 3 months, Wednesday she had to put her beloved Chawne down who was 7..all 3 - cancer...the 4th is quite ill but older...I advised her to have her water checked or look into dog food she's feeding them..isn't it odd to all have cancer...she's absolutely devastated..her dogs are her life...
Last month I took her to Pennsylvania to bring a rescue dog to a judge, after hearing of Sharon's loss, she's willing to give it back to Sharon, how kind of her..right now Sharon can't make up her mind what to do so another trip south might be in order...

Tubby, am praying that your count will enable them to do the transplant...the waiting must be so hard for both you and Shirley..you are not overdoing are you? A cow, will it be a 'pet' or will it be put in the freezer next year? On the farm we had chickens, I couldn't eat their eggs nor could I eat them...had about 25 goats, couldn't eat the goat cheese and we certainly didn't contemplate eating them, they were all pets...

Trisha, love your painting, you will frame it right? wish you were closer, I've so many frames that I've bought or been given..you could paint for a month...

Crissy, saying prayers for you mom..have you recovered from all the work you've been doing?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty you better be careful, you Will melt!!

I won't get caught up on work and recover until about the 1st of November, then we get to start getting ready for year end. Oh Joy!!

I think I put my contacts in the wrong eyes, nothing is clear like it should be... LOL

Oh good grief, it's pouring and pouring and pouring, the fastest I could go down the interstate to get to work is 45mph, it's an extremely slow moving cold front and got to my house at 6:30, I leave my house at 7:30 and it was still pouring when I left and took me an hour to get to work. Ms. Cheerful lives east of me and the storm is moving east. Her and her husband leave their house at 5:30am to come to work, she goes works out and her husband works for this building. Anyway, if it didn't get to my house until 6:30, how could it have been to her house at 5:30, plus the rush hour traffic isn't happening that early, but she says the roads are packed. Her competing all the time drives me nuts!!

Hey Betty, sounds like you will be very busy this week-end, cooking, sewing, paining...

This is all I could find of the vampire chicken, hope this is the one he is talking about?

We used to have farm animals also, but they were not pets, that was the way of life back then, and you had to raise them for food! I still don't eat eggs!

Dear Friends:
I will try to do a quick update on Tubby. I took him to the ER Tues. AM and they admitted him. He has been spiking fevers, confusion and extreme weakness to where he couldn't put one foot in front of the other. He was getting worse so they transferred him to UNMC in Omaha this AM. They have Cardiology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Oncology, & Neurology on board. They have been running test. They did a spinal tap and Fremont and some of those haven't come back yet. They know he has some form of fungal infection that has spread to the brain. They are trying to rule out mets and find the source of infection. It has been very hard. I do have to tell you that when I got to the hospital this AM he was trying to tell me to talk to his two Dr's and get those plants. He has been trying to tell me about how to start different seeds, but gets confused and then he chuckles, and go back to sleep. His mind is working over time, but every once in while he throws a cute one out in mid air and gets everyone laughing. He told us one of Dr.'s there is a doll after she introduced herself. I know she didn't know what to say. He will never remember any of this. His symptoms are so similar to when he had meningitis on the brain six years ago. I need to get a few winks now so I can do some chores early and get back there by 6 AM. It took me a little while how to get in his computer without him and drop you a quick note. Best wishes to all. Talk to you soon.

Shirley I know there is really nothing we can say or do to make things better. Just know that we love you both and you are in our thoughts and prayers. Give Tubby a big hug for us, and please try and get some rest and take care of yourself.

Sorry Tubby's so sick. You keep up your strength. You'll both have lots of prayers!

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Dear Friends:
It is 2:43 in AM and can't sleep. They have a sitter with Tubby this evening so I could go get sleep. The youngest daughter and I sat in the car till 1:30. She went home and I sat there and decided not to pay for a room for a few hours, as I'm waiting for the oldest daughter & 2 Gdaughters to arrive from Wisconsin. They were about 70 miles out when I spoke to them last.
The latest is that Tubby has multiple strokes in the last two weeks and they plan on doing some biopsy's on the lesions in the head and possible one on the lungs. The Dr's can't emphasis just how sick he is and is a far cry from being out of the woods.
Okay he told and good one today. He asked me what we should name this rabbit, I said what rabbit, that one there(as he points in the air). I said a dead one, he said no, Bettypauz and giggled and giggled. He has been more alert today and able to talk and follow commands. The girls and I as well as the nursing staff have had more laughs today. He told me he wanted to go have a cig. as he acted like he had one in his fingers and took a puff. I told him he couldn't - asked why not so said he was in the hospital and so he asked the nurse, she said no. So he sang them a little diddy about " I smoking a cigarette & so & so." They were all busting up. They all keep coming and checking on him. He has received excellent care. The Dr.'s have all been so kind and wonderful. He did amaze them on how much better he looks today, but they say don't let that fool you. Still talks about planting. He does recognize people some times and not so good the next. He told the middle daughter today as she was leaning over him talking " with a face like that you could grow onions". LOL I just needed to chat and keep my hands and mind occupied. Will check in with you all again soon.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers as they are greatly appreciated and needed. Ours goes out to all of you, have a wonderful weekend.
