Venice only the little thyme plant was 50 cents the gallon pots were $1.99, still a great deal. I was in Iowa at the Home Depot store. We don't have one on this side of the river.
The Lowes here is still high on their plants too.
If I had some where to put more right now I probably would have got more.
I know moon but thought she could smell the roses, and we could cut them and take flowers in the house. They have lilacs we do that with.
Blame the roses on Jim and lynnie. I usually get minature roses, they talked and showed such pretty knock off roses that when I seen them sitting there I had to take them. I'm thinking of putting them in that spot I just weeded off the patio. I'll have to chek it out somemore there is a tree there and not sure if it would block the sun to much
The asters not sure and I haven't a clue about the hibiscus I just like them.
GYPSY LIVES, GARDEN STORIES and FOOTLESS CHICKENS
Just talking about how those blackie sweet potato vines are annoying me because they are going all over the place!
Moon, that's great. I definitely will at least cut them back now!
The variegated weed is Epipremnum pinnatum 'Aureum'. It is very aggresive in Hawaiian forests.
The fern is Cibotium hawaiiense, Meu. A rare Hawaiian tree fern found only in old growth forests.
The beer was Spaten Optimator, a very strong malt liquor from Germany.
Venice, I'm not sure how sweet potatoes grow in your area, but here you can start removing young potatoes from the mound after the vines are three months old. I believe you need to dig the whole pile up after the first frost.
I have some nice standards, climbers, patio or tree, and miniature tea roses...I'll be taking clippings off of this spring, if anyone is interested
Looks like you got good deals on it all and all should do well for you.
Gonna say A hui hou for now....things to do with GSJordan. DHJim is working nights for the next three evenings. Have a lovely evening and I may be back later....if not, sweet dreams all.
Moon
Night Moon!
Dave that "weed" would definately have to be a houseplant here, it wouldn't last a winter here
Scare me trina. I read Pam did it and before I got to next line I wondered what I did now.
Your flower looked fine to me. They were all doing very well looked like to me.
Moon I didn't know they made a 4 cycle weedeater so I was thrilled. Can't imagine having to different kinds of gas at that house, afraid the wrong one would end up in the mower. Paid more than I would have like to but I don't mix gas and oil well and I don't pull more than 3 times and it better start.
Can't tell ya how many new push mowers the DH has come home to, until I bought my Troy-bilt. It has yet to not start first pull.
Enjoy the GS moon, good that you two have such a good relationship.
Night
well he kept arguing that I can't grow them in the house so I posted a picture of it...he shut up!
Trina, whatever happen to that person a long while ago that wanted more than she had to offer.
Hello everyone and hope all are enjoying their weekend.
Nice picture's that everyone has added on the thread's that I am just now viewing. Gosh, I am alway's so behind on keeping up with all of you;-)
Jean, nice opening statement that you added to this new thread. My whole well being is pretty much based on nature and being involved in the great out-door's as much as I can with many thing's.
Dave, one person's weed is another person's treasure. I could not resist saying that!
good one Rachel a cookie for you!
Venice? huh?...and a cookie for you too
But Dave gets a whole batch just to himself
Hi Rachel good to see you.
Did anyone ever say what that plant of Kassy's was?
Cookies I want some!
venice, that blossoming flower was a Hen and Chicks. That was the first time I had ever seen one blossom, and my mom had them for years. Too bad the hen dies off after flowering, but she only gave us about 35 young ones and now a bunch of seeds too.
Hi Rachel
Thanks JJs....hope to keep it that way long past the time he is grown....best way I know to keep him safe and on the right path.
Hi Rachel. Thanks, I feel the same way...am like the cat when she is ready to go out....she stands at the door and yells want out now....grin. Sorry to greet and run, but need to spend some grandma time with the boy....he has had enough "parent" time from me today....do your chores, clean your room....etc. Sometimes just very necessary to "change hats" and just be grandma.
A hui hou, Moon
Kassy, before I forget, did you check out the link in the opening post? Put it there just for you....GRIN Have a sweet evening...be safe to and from work.
Moon
here here Moon
Sending you cookies too JJ, I repotted that sedum you gave me, moon had to help me figure out which one it is, I think it doubled in size since you brought it to me
And no Dave I did not give it any miracle grow!
I copied it, going there before I log off
Nite Jean ^_^
Is it autumn joy trina?
OK headed out off to work now.
Nite everyone ^_^
Don't have to repot it trina . Throw it in the dirt and stomp on it , it will grow.
Kassy, is what an autumn joy?
Are you gonna come to the airport and pick us up Dave, if we come get your "weeds"
The sedum I gave her is a ground cover Kassy, but the neighbor has that autumn joy.
Want me to dig it up for ya when she goes back to Florida?
Safe nite.
JJ I put half in the dirt and half in a pot, cause it looks cool and my son wanted some in his room
autumn joy is that a viney climber?
WOW!!! I can see why they call them Royal, the look very elegant standing there
I'll drive to the airport Trina.
Autumn joy is not a vine Trina.
The ones I gave you are Creeping red sedum(sedum spurium) and Goledn sedum ( sedum kamtschaticum)
Dave that is too cool!
ahhh..I see said the blind man to the deaf woman

Wow! that is beautiful.
Dave I asked in a differen thread somewhere if it would be alright to copy some of your pics for the third grade class to use when they are studying land forms and insects in their geography and science classes. If you replied I don't remember seeing it.
I have saved some of kassy's also with her permission.
Thanks
Thanks guys...I jus bought my mom a gift subscription...her name on here is Mom2Witches...she'll probably be on tomorrow
That was nice of you Trina.
Will be nice to meet her but now you will have to behave.
behave? NOT she's worse than me!!! I just have way more room for plants
Certainly JJs! What kind of examples are you looking for? I've got a good photo library of Hawaiian plants, I can find certain landforms if you have a description of what to look for.
