Trina that grass ( the seeds I told you to throw away) I seen today it is called mondo grass.
Think I am calling it a night. Have lots to do tomorrow can't sleep late like I did today.
Night all
Will check tomorrow for more great pictures Dave. Nite
GYPSY LIVES, GARDEN STORIES and FOOTLESS CHICKENS
Nite JJ...
I have no idea really what they will be using. We just got a list of things they would be doing this year and insects and landforms were listed. I just thought I would save to my computer some of them and then I would have some unique things others may not have.
Landforms to me anyway are just about anything that got there naturally. Like the coastline, forests, volcanos things like that.
Ahhhhhh! to the evening sky!
JJ, I had to look up those creeping sedums. Those are beautiful!!
Kassy, I had no idea that hens and chicks could create a flowering stalk like that! Wow, it is so tall compared to the h & c!
Dave maybe I can check with the teacher on Monday, and I would have a better idea.
Thanks for the help
I like the ocean pictures...but my favorite animal is the dolphins...and I am a pieces so the ocean is home...it sings to me...but unfortunately I'm totally landlocked
Trina I swam with the dolphins in Mexico. Was sooo cool
Well, nice to sleep after such peaceful photos.
So I am going to bed now.
'Night and have a restful sleep!
nite Venice and JJ
so Dave did you find the "Plantpertrator" thread? I couldn't help it I thought it was funny!
Dave where did your picture go?
stupid Netbook...I lost all pictures cause my kid convinced me firefox would be so much better...PPPPLLLLBBBBTTTT!
Beautiful dogs
Temper trina.
Those dogs sure look comfy.
Thats what I am going to do plop on the pillow.
Nite trina, Dave, and venice
Yes, read thru it before this one. You folks are awful chatty!
I know it...but its fun
so Dave what do you know about Passionflowers and Jasmine?
I am a little familiar with them.
I wouldn't trust them in the same room together. They'll probably be dropping leaves and kicking dirt on your floor when you're not looking!
LOL....do you know if Jasmine will grow well in a house? it gets lots of light and suport
I believe most Jasminum species should be easy to grow. Some are quite aggressive.
hi Dave, beautiful pics! I would comment on each one but there were too many that I liked best lol looks like you had a great day there.
JJ were those roses knockouts that you bought? You won't regret it. They're carefree bloom machines. A little shade probably won't bother them. I hope you didn't spend all your earnings, gotta save some for a rainy day ;)
Trina do you mean jasmine the vine, or is there another kind? i have seen the vines with those delicate white flowers, boy are those pretty.
Have you ever seen those egret flowers? Those are beautiful (I probably shouldn't be steering you to even more plants lol)
Sorry I missed you, Kassy, Venice, Moon...we had company for cake & ice cream last night...Jim I made chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling...
Even Smileymom isn't up yet...I hope you're feeling better Smiley!
I'm up! And feeling fine, always have. Must have been someone else Lynnie, I don't remember either who wasn't feeling well. It's hard to keep track of these threads. I'm more of a lurker, anyways. I get my mom on Saturdays, so don't get much computer time.
I see I haven't had enough coffee, though. Keep making typo's.
I was interested to see what Dave may have said about passionflowers. I bought my husband one for Father's Day but mine is in a hanging pot.So it has to come inside for the winter. But if Trina was worried about spider plants... she'd DEFINITELY worry about this one. It looks like an alien, it's huge and all wrapped around itself.
I'll have to search the passiflora forum. Would definitely need a new pot at some point.
well who the heck was under the weather? glad to hear you're ok!
I have to tell you passion flowers have always creeped me out a little..
speaking of creepy, I'll check on my corn stalk today, it needed that rain.

He likes a nice, impressive porch plant. So I bought that. It creeps ME out at this point. It's reaching for the mailbox...
Everyone's garden purchases was making me hungry yesterday. So when I picked up my mom I said "want to go to the nursery?" Darn! It was closed for the season already. They have 2 locations, the other one does better. Besides Home Depot (which really sucks) I have no nursery close by. We actually live in a suburb of Buffalo, but it's close to the city line, so nothing's around. Do they think we don't garden?? Have to drive out to the "more affluent" suburbs so find a decent nursery.
And I imagine those nurseries charge accordingly!
I'm in between farm towns here, lots of little places to stop, and a specialty place around the corner. I have been resisting buying coneflowers...I don't know why..they're all on sale & look good...I really want some more guara, whirling butterflies....
after reading JJ's posts i wanted to go out & buy too! I need trees.
Moon, to answer your original question again..
maybe in our quest to become "one with our Maker", whatever/whoever that may be, we grow things. Only our Maker can create those things otherwise.
Morning
Sorry the nursery was closed smiley. I had never been to the home depot in Iowa for plants before but this one had alot. I won't tell lynnie how much the trees were.
I think it was imzad who was feeling under the weather.
Yes Lynnie they are knockout roses. Rosa Radrazz
Hope my coffee is done
my HD has japanese maples, but I don't have any shade. they were a pretty good price.
They didn't have any other trees...
flock of geese just went honking on by....I'm on the screen porch with my coffee...
Trina, I was trying to find what Jasminum looked like. I found this and scrolled down and thought I was looking at your plants! (It is all one site address)

Composting Question!
I have a bucket full of green tomatoes from those 2 plants that had mushy tomatoes. Can I put that much in my compost pile that is only 2 feet square?
Nice pics on that site Venice.
I don't see why not, but I'm sure Moon or Kassy or Jim can tell you...if not, Jim can give you a good recipe for green tomato pie.
Can I use those tomatoes in a recipe even though the ripe tomatoes from that bush were awfully mushy and not edible?
I wanted a japanese maple but can't bring myself to pay that much. Afraid it would end up like my weeping cherry tree. They had a couple at HD but they were still $50 and not 5' tall.
I stopped getting dogwood trees because everytime they started to get a nice size something happened to them. Love em just can't keep em.
Lynnie did your cake have PB filling or frosting?
I haven't tried my hand at veggie gardening yet...so I can't say go ahead & eat them maybe you could ask on the beg. veggie forum or wait for one of the "real" gardeners to show up today lol
It's getting late, where are they? I thought Trina would be up by now! I'm going to head out to the yard soon.
chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, white frosting colored pink (kid's b-day, kid's request) and magic wand candles :)
I usually use chocolate fudge frosting on this cake but somehow the chocolate gene is latent in this kid...can't figure it out!
The JP's at my HD were $90, but a good 5, 6 feet tall.
Plant question!
Someone told me a couple of months a go that these 2 plants were artemisia filifolia. However, the lower leaves are still the single thin leaf and the main stem is not brown or woody. Does this plant still have the right name?
Is it a perennial? It hasn't grown much at all since I planted it. Should I bring it inside and make it a house plant for now?
