maybe by next year I will have some pretty stuff to share its getting there slowly but surely. My biggest problem is finding the things that will grow. If everything I have planted in the last 6 years took I would have a garden of eden for sure lol

Delhi, LA

Venice, when you repot the plants, crumple up old soda pop cans and put in the bottom. Helps to lighten the pot and helps keep the drain holes open. When we repot the big ferns, I put cans up to a third of the way up.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Boy do I know that feeling...in my case though seems every time I plant something I have to move before the next season...last place we lived there 6 years...after planting 8 dwarf cherries, 200 roses, 1000 irises....oh lord the stuff I planted that summer, I put every bit of 6 grand into that yard just in plants, not counting all the freebie trades, the next april, had to move, turns out the person we were buying the house from contract for dead never paid the mortgage and we were evicted, by the sheriffs office who didn't know we weren't the home owners until they arrived...cop asked us why we hadn't responded to any of the letters when I asked what letters he said Mrs. so-and-so you know what letters...and I said it would have been helpful if I was Mrs. so-and-so then I would have seen them....he looked sick to his stomach as his deputies moved our stuff out of that house

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

That really stinks, So many scammers out there. Not much you can do in that situation.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I know it...oh well live and learn!

My little chupacabra is a wuss!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

What the fangs aren't showing tonight? lol

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

once it gets slightly dark she just cries if she has to go out to pee! hubby wants to get her a liter box....I said only if he's taking care of that....had lungs collapse before kitty liter does not help that at all!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

What about a doggie door?

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

too many coons in the neighborhood and we can't let her out back with our other dog cause he just thinks she's food....she's got a new trick too...wine til I pick her up then she crawls up my shoulders and drapes her self around my neck so she can chew on my ears

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Night Jim wherever you are and any others I didn't see or missed

Delhi, LA

Night trina. Glad you are better.

Night flowers.

I need to get to bed. Early hospital call tomorrow. Just not sleepy.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

that's my problem Jim...been sleeping for 2 days pretty much...not tired now

Delhi, LA

I didn't get in bed last night until about 1:30 and was awake by 6. I'm just like that a lot of time. Never took much sleep for me but now that I'm older, it takes a while to get the old motor reved up. Going to give it a try. If I can't get to sleep, I'll be back in an hour.

Good Morning Lynnie! We are the early birds, I see. Took me forever to catch up, I had to make notes.

To Kassy - you grew your sweet williams from seed? might not bloom until year 3.

To Venice - the pet stores carry those drops to take the chlorine out of the water, maybe you could try that and Kitty won't have as much fun dumping water. Incidentally, my favorite Kitty off all time as a GF's kitty named Kitty also. GF said I was the only other person she would go to. I loved her.

To Kassy - loved the tree wire pictures. That happens here a lot too. Want to see funky trees, all the ones in Buffalo were topped during the October Storm. They're starting to fill in, not as noticeable now during the summer. But in winter with all those bare bones they look really funny. I think that was the saddest thing I ever saw...

morning Smiley!

Good morning folks. You're up early

Just checking in for a minute.

Jim, I liked that idea about using pot cans in the bottom of the pot.

About Kitty spilling the water. I should have just closed the closet door. I had no idea she could over-turn a whole gallon of water. My vet said she is one pound over weight but she is all muscle. No wonder. She climbs the 8 foot tall chain link fences and she does some serious chasing and jumping for birds and brings home critters in other seasons.

Well, gotta go. Everyone have a great day! Trina, still sending good healing thoughts your way. And still hoping your cousin gets better Jim. Dave, I will look at all your photos later.

By for now!

does anyone know how to tell the difference in citrus trees when they have no flowers and are only about a foot tall?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I have that an agave and another succulent I still can't identify...darn me and my need to bring home the orphan plants!!!!!

and here is number 2...no tag I just call it medusa...it definately multiplies very easily, even without soil!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Check out this link. as you will see, they tend to be a bit individual. I saw a couple with the same characteristics as yours

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yep that's it thank you thank you thank you

(Cathy), MO

Thanks Moon! You're a sweetie!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

ok got the coleus identified too...now just medusa needs a real name....yeah

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You are both very welcome...grin

Trina, I think we need to let the experts at C&S try a name for Medusa....not having much luck....may not even be a succulent as much as a succulent-like plant. Xenomorph will probably know. She is a wiz at C&S.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well i did post it there and someone said crassula ericoides...but that's a massive tree and doesn't look anything like medusa....can you do your magic and find a link...pretty please I'll bake you cookies
