Savannah, GA(Zone 9a)

to cue: hope you get to feeling better and hope this makes you laugh.....i'm a newbie that was inspired by your lasagne brigade and I started several of these beds earlier this week.
Alas, my husband is not too thrilled. My hubby says the neighbors are thinking i went off the deep end b/c i've visited the liquor store (for cardboard) every day for two weeks and they must think i'm too drunk to take my trash to the road for pickup!! Hopefully i'll get to that topsoil layer down before the neighbors file a complaint for all the trash in my beds. ARGH.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

LOL.. if they ask.. this is what you say...

'Oh... im just preparing the grave...erm... beds for next year... my husband needs someplace to sleep"... then, as if its a perfectly normal thing to do, you lean over and lick the wall/fence.. or whatever structure your standing next too. I bet they will leave you be.. completely, from there on out!

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

ok.. since i told you that.. i have to confess something to the rest of yall....

ok, no nasty grams in my dmail about how terrible of a mother i am...

my son and I used to play this game when he was little called 'pet finger'... i would draw a little smiley face on my index finger when he was sad or unhappy and pretend it was his litle friend. it would talk to him in a squeeky voice, sit on his shoulder and 'kiss' his cheek. it never failed to get a smile from him.

well, last year, he would come home from school upset because some of his classmates picked on him. they called him 'weird' and the usual things kids say to each other. This because my son is very tall for his age.. so because he stood out from the other puny kids, I guess they seized that opportunity to sngle him out and harrass him. now by nature, my son isnt a trouble maker. He didnt want to get into a fight or hurt someone (tho with his size, it would be very easy to threaten them... and theyd leave him alone then) but its just not in him to do that. BUT, my kid has a GREAT sense of humor and has an incredible ability to see twisted humor (much like his mother) in things others wouldnt notice.

SO... I told him how he could handle the situation, instill shock and fear into the other kids, and give he and I something to laugh about privately.. so here is what he did:

a few days later at school, a couple boys were picking on my son after reding group, on their way back to their desks. My son said nothing. as they got seated and got quiet, waiting for the teacher to hand out assignment sheets, my son, God love him, leans over to one of the little pests sitting next to him and with wide eyes and a serious look on his face, whispers I.. have a pet finger.., makes a tiny squeeking noise, then turns back around, faces forward, leans his forehead on the desk and licks the desk! needless to say... those two kids never bothered him again.. and whats better.. his teacher was hysterical with laughter! She called me that afternoon to tell me how funny it was. That she had expected My son to get angry and had expected to have to break up a fight that afternoon, but said the way he handled it and the looks on those kids faces was priceless. 'You've got one heck of a smart, unique kid there... he could have chose any other way to deal with it... most inappropriate, but he turned it all around on them. Great sense of humor!'

i gotta say, i laughed for hours after that.. still laugh about it!

Hi ALL
This to good...And poor Shirley works 3 days 12hr each day..And I'm no help now..

'Dear Lord:

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day
while his wife stayed home.
He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed:
'Dear Lord:
I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife
merely stays at home.
I want her to know what I go through.
So, please allow her body to switch with mine for a day.
God, in his infinite wisdom,
granted the man's wish.
The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman...
He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate,
Awakened the kids,
Set out their school clothes,
Fed them breakfast,
Packed their lunches,
Drove them to school,
Came home and picked up the dry cleaning,
Took it to the cleaners
And stopped at the bank to make a deposit,
Went grocery shopping,
Then drove home to put away the groceries,
Paid the bills and balanced the check book.
He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog..
Then, it was already 1 P.M.
And he hurried to make the beds,
Do the laundry, vacuum,
Dust, And sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument
with them on the way home.
Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework.
Then, set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.
At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad,
breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper.
After supper, He cleaned the kitchen,
Ran the dishwasher,
Folded laundry,
Bathed the kids, and put them to bed.
At 9 P.M. He was exhausted and, though his daily chores
weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to
make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.
The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said: -
Lord, I don't know what I was thinking.
I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day.
Please, Oh! Please, let us trade back.. Amen!'
The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied:
'My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and
I will be happy to change things back to the way they were.
You'll just have to wait nine months, though.
You got pregnant last night.'

HAHAHA!!!!!!! GOD ROCKS!!!!!
