Flower, I just got the cutest little box in the mail today. Thank you very much. That was a very precious thing to do sending so many bulbs. The weather is cooling some now and I have several things I'm going to be sending you also. Just wanted to say thanks and I appreciate them.

Cue how far are you from Jacksonville FL? I'm in a learning things mood today.

Sorry everyone. i havent been on as much as normal... feeling quite a biyt under the weather at the moment. Im taking tomorrow off of work to get rest and hopefully will feel better tomorrow. Just keeping an eye on things, make sure im not running a fever and such.. dont wanna come down with the dread *whispers* S-W-I-N-E flu. our couny seems to have been hit full force with it now... two people from work are out with it.. but so far, it doesnt seem that is what I have.

Our State health Organizatin said that now it is so widespread n FL, that if anyone exhibits flu like symptoms, its safe to assume they have the H1N1 virus... lovely.

80 deaths in FL so far... 6 in Jacksonville alone. I sure hope poeple build up antibodies soon....

OH CUE, I'm so sorry. Will keep you in my prayers. I sure hope you feel better soon.

awww... thanks ya'll.. hopefully tomorrow will make a big difference, jusyt staying in and resting. gonna make it worth my while and camp out on the sofa with my favorite 'down time' things... books,hot coffee, juice, soup, movies... comfy jammies... and my kitties. my sons father is gonna pick him up from school and keep him for a couple of days until i feel better (and to keep from spreading whatever this crud is to him) so I'll be able to really rest. so you may see me on and off tomorrow. besides... Gilda is still here to keep me company!

to whoever i may have plants/seeds to send.. gimme a few extra days... just in case this turns out to be the dreaded virus.. i dont want to inadvertently send it to you via the US Postal Service. This includes Gilda... wouldnt want her to become a 'carrier'...lol

PUT a mask on Gilda's little face and make her a nurse uniform so she can take care of you ,Cue. Then draw her a little can of lysol.

at work, they poke fun at me cuz my morning ritual is to 1) take a lint free paper towel and soak it with isopropyl alcohol and wipe down counters, chairs, kiosks, door handles, keyboards, time clocks and phones.. i go thru a half bottle a day.. not just for myself, but you never know who walks in the front door and even if they dont seem sick, they themselves may not know they carry an illness.. so i wanna keep my customers safe as well.. so whatever they touch, gets dissinfected several times a day. 2) I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer behind my counter.. and use it everytime i have to touch money, or surfaces others have touched. 3) i keep a can of lysol behind the counter and spray it twice a day int he area i work to keep airborn germs down.

however, one coworker did say she appreciated all the effort i put into keeping everyone else from getting it.. so.. at least someone appreciates it...lol

That is for sure. I use wipes for the store buggies when I go shopping and after I finish, you never know what germs had your buggy before you got it. Pays to take action to prevent rather than get over when you can. Take care.

Oh Cue get well soon. If you run a fever or are achy all over dissolve 30 asprin tablets in a bottle of wintergreen alcohol. Shake good each time you use it to rub yourself down all over. Works great on bringing fevers down and eases the aches.
Tubby I know what that surprise is too that Cue's going to get. It will make her feel better I'm sure.

Already told this to Robin, but also wanted to thank everyone for their contributions to the newbie seed giveaway. I was so excited to see my bubble pack in the mail and Opening it was like Christmas!!!! Ya'll are so sweet...
I can't wait to research my little gems and get ready for spring (alas, is it even fall yet?). Hopefully Santa will bring me a greenhouse so i can start early. I feel so important to receive such a thoughtful gift.

By the way, yall got any suggestions on greenhouses?

Hi jules, and welcome! We are glad to have you here with us and if you need anything, just let us know. Greenhouses, hmmm, we all want one I know that much! I guess it just depends on how deep you plan to go with gardening. The longer you stickaround us, you will have seeds and plants coming out your ears. We are always doing something fun. But I would look around on the web and eBay to get ideas of what you want and maybe consider building it yourself. They are pricy for what you get, but that's just my opinion. There are some decent ones for around $1500- $2000 but it just depends on what size will accomodate you. Good luck in your greenhouse journey and good to have you here. By the way, we are having a seed auction this week. It may be soon for you to join this time, but at least you can see some of the things we do and how it works. Happy Gardening! Ok, my 5 year old nephew in CA got the Swine flu and had to be hospitalized. He is fine now, aready home, doing well. My sister had to wear a FULL BODY HAZMAT SUIT- gas mask and all every time she went outside, so as not to spread the swine germs. Yes, they made her stay with him at the hospital and quarantined them both. I am ROFLMAO right now as I'm telling you this because I can just picture my sister having to get dresed in this hazmat suit every time she wanted to go outside to smoke. How she did in fact smoke with a gas mask is beyond me, surely she must have snuck it off. Well I am roflmao because I was thinking how funny it would be to make a similar Hazmat suit complete with a gas mask for GILDA!!
No seed starter packets left at Family Dollar today, sorry guys.. Didn't go to TGIF with the kids, ended up staying home and made them a big dinner and watched the game on the big screen. And I only had 1 Corona with Lime.. lol I was too pooped to go after all the darn shopping I did today. Ok, well Nite everyone and hope you get well soon Cue..
