ROSEMARY,BASIL AND FOOTLESS MAKES THREE

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

more people walk to work in Alaska than anywhere in the US. I heard that on the brainbuzz one day.

LOL! Probably. Especially if you live in the bush. Not far to walk. A ton of people ride bikes. Me, I still love my car. :)
K now I'm getting side tracked. State fair, giant veggies, must get ready.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi icanfindroom. I am smiley, I horned my way in on the slug thread. (it's so-o not like me, but I was in need of friends, I don't have many)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

take... your... fingers... off... the...keyboard. I know, it's hard. when I go online at work, DG is my home page. and I get sidetracked.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

wow smiley we really do have a lot in common..

as for the 33 acres...right now just trees! I haven't been out there in almost a year...mainly cause there's nothing there yet.....someday...someday I'll build a house!

Welcome to the old mint basil slash chicken slash...whatever...thread(s)! Have you chosen your gypsy band name yet? Gotta have a name to run with the band :)

Yep it's hard, especially when you hit the DG home button and see yet another post on one of our fabulous threads and...MUST...LOOK...

And I have no will power.

SO anyway glad to have you on board. Everyone here is grrrrrrrrrreat!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

don't wait too long! gotta have time to enjoy it.

Yep, I'm going, I'm going!!!!!!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

no no no Moon is the one who usually does the naming! But she's open to suggestions!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hhhhmmm i read a post from our previous thread basil something or another and the last post was admin admonishing us for being "Chatty" at 533 posts but how long is the slug post?

anyway Ican or smiley do you know anything about coleus? I can't seem to find the one I have anywhere...here's the pic...take your best guess

Thumbnail by trinawitch
Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

maybe it would be easier if that elusive chat room showed up more often! I'll try the coleus...

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

here what your saying about the elusive chat room...but I've never seen it or anything to suggest we had one!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

it showed up on the home page I think Wednesday when I went on. Over on the right where the "todays articles" usually are. It said chat room is open, so I went in. didn't recognize any of the names and felt like I went to the wrong party so I left. I think I wrote something on the basil thread.

Moon, would it help me get a gypsy name if I told you that's waht I dressed up as for Halloween every year? I have a picture...

Hayward (Z8b-9a), CA(Zone 8b)

Knock-knock-knock! ^-^

I have a confession to make (gramps, you there!:): I didn't read all 500+++ post before I started a-typin away! Shhhh!!!! In fact, I don't really even know what this thread is about- somethin about basil? :-)

Trina: try this:

www.glasshouseworks.com/gallery2.html

don't know if I copied that link correctly. Back to work.

Keaau, HI

It just took me 10 minutes to load the slug thread and there is not a single reprimand from Admin there?

Hey Venice, you can use your calcium pills as fertilizer, but grind them up first. If your area has limestone rich soil, that will work too. Calcium carbonate / limestone is very inexpensive, much cheaper that using your supplements.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Venice, I couldn't find the August plants and bloom pics. In the communities?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, how much calcium would that avocado tree need? And what can I do to make it branch at the top?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Do you see the GARDENING BLOGS on the right side of this page if you scoll up to the top?

Click on Gardening Blogs.

The 2 that I mentioned will be in a list.

Keaau, HI

Mix about half a cup of calcium carbonate for 5 gallons of soil.

To get the tree grow out more, add some fertilizer.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I see what you mean by not using my tablets. lol I didn't know It would need that much.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dave, have you ever heard of a Lite SlimCado? 35% less calories and 50% less fat.

I didn't read the label when I picked up this large avocado. You know what they say, if it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, etc. . . . . Not so! I thought I was getting a regular avocado because it looked like one!

What are the odds of this pit becoming a good tree?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, very pretty rose!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Ican, I was trying to find the thread that you posted that toadstool. Of course, it is over on the one that is now closed.

Just wanted to tell you how cool that little toadstool is. It is so pretty, it almost looks like a fake one that is painted!

Keaau, HI

Usually, seeds from modern hybrids don't make good plants, but if you like growing them might as well try it.

Once again, if the plant is polyembryonic it will resemble the parent.

All Avocados have the potential to produce fruit, if the seedling is not polyembryonic, you have no idea of whether the fruit will be good or not.

Okey dokey kiddies friends and Gypsie....the word is out....MOVE. So. voting time.....which general discussion forum is there that will allow both subs and non-subs access, that we can post pictures to? Inquiring minds want to know. Everyone voice your suggestion, and the one with the most suggestions will be the lucky thread that gets the Gypsy Band, veggies, friends and critters...puffballs included and our two very special friends, Yammy and Footless.

Welcome to our newest Gypsy Rebel. the one and only Rock'NSmile, formerly known as Smileymom......and the crowd goes wild......YEA! Hope that name is okay by you, if not change is good....grin....Roll call:
IcanRock, Rockcat Kassy, RockSteady Lynnie, LavaRock'NChocolate Man Dave, RockofAges Jim, LoverRock Rachel, JJsGrammaRocks, Rock'NSmile Smileymom, and HotRock Trina....

The voting begins.....MoonRock

Dave used a big word...not fair using big words! some of us aren't that smart

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

like I said the slug thread is outrageous but we got booted!

(Zone 7a)

Here is one choice for y'all to move...

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/general/all/

This is the one suggested by Admin.

It's fun to read what you have to say or see the pics. There is a place for everything, however. More people can see what's happening and, perhaps, join in. ^_^

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I LOVE my new alias! I AM a Rock'NSmilin' kind-of-a-girl.

I prefer not to vote because I don't know much about nothin' on this here website. Just let me follow the crowd & I'll be happy.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

me neither I don't like making big choices

Keaau, HI

Polyembryonic means the seedling will have multiple shoots.

Monoembryonic means the seedling will have a single shoot.

Kwanjin's suggestion looks okay, as long as everyone has access and we can post photos.
Looks like photos can be posted on the forum, but nobody has any posted!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, Wilty and I would like to be part of the Rock Group!!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Kwanjin, Our only problem with General discussion is that it is blocked to non subscribers. We have a number of nonsubs who read our posts, and a few that have become subs because they found a sense of camaraderie here and wanted to be a part of it. Aside from PlantID, InsectID and the plant files, the Beginning Forums are the only ones that allow nonsubs....and that is why we are here. Looks like we are not gonna have a choice, but are going to have to move to Gen Discussion, or suspend our thread posting....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Welcome to our latest Gypsy, Wilty'sRock'NMom.....welcome Venice, and as always if you have a name preference, we can change it.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Welcome Home, is that for paid subscribers only? There is no marking beside it in the list of Forums. ???

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

No, it is open to everyone, but does not allow pictures to be posted...and how would the Gypsies tell any stories without pictures....grin
