Here's Lucy, one of Zuzu's kitties.
Since it's getting dark earlier each day I thought maybe we could show some of our darkest plants whether they be tulips, irises, trees like Copper Beech, perennials like Actea, dark sedums or near black roses.
September - show us your dark plants
Mmmm, love dark plants, mostly dark bronze colored I guess they would be, the challenge is to set them off so they show nicely with other plants, I'm not always that good at it. Lime and dark are my favorite combos, pirl, I know you do that combo well from past pictures!
Black monda grass and Echeveria 'Black Prince'
Love that 'Schwarzkopf'!
Let me get my camera
Back in a bit
Oh, I love this thread. I don't have a lot of dark plants myself, but I love looking at photos of them.
Not even dark roses?
Oh, yes, I do have those, Pirl. I'll post some of them this evening.
Love them all!
Sorry, when I popped that one in, I didn't know you were in the middle of posting, should have checked the time but I was just going to bed and thought of that rose.
Hope someone else pipes in here soon and shares some Sept. darks.
Night all.
I don't think they have to be September darks. Dig through your photos and find some more from before. I have some cool black(ish) irises, but I can't find the photos. Your Schwarzkopf is gorgeous, Sue.
Any black cats or dogs?
Dont get carried away now.
The roses are fantastic.

Love the roses, especially The Prince.
I spotted some dark sweet potato vine, Jo Ann. Yesterday I cut mine up because it was beginning to block the steps to the kitchen. I'm trying to root the pieces. Has anyone had success with doing that?
yep its in full sun on concrete and seldome watered. I have another in a container thats much happier and nearly at the ground.
Our season is shorter here so If this is a "Sweetpotatovine contest"
I'll concede now
Beautiful color harmony, Sue.
