Hope after some rest tonight, you'll feel better tomorrow Juanita.
(((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))
Crissy, the day will come when your mother will be pain free!!!
Ladies, the catfish was 'smoking'!! Fresh, deep fried, whole catfish!!! The only day of the week when a trip to Ryan's won't be a disappointment. Ate just two.. but helped myself to pasta, with black olives and mushrooms!
Trisha, the best hushpuppies I ever ate was in Mississippi. It was an old restaurant located in the back of rickety general store. The front says "Best hushpuppies in the world". Well they were.... crispy on the outside, fluffly and slightly moist on the inside with onion tops.
Pegi, wraps are certainly easy on the budget too. You can practically use any leftover meat and voila.. some cilantro.. some avocado.. and a squeeze of lemon.
Ever tried making lemon chutneys? Wishing now I had grandma's recipe.
Twyla, so good to see you. If anyone can give a lesson on patience, it is certainly you!!! Plus faith!!
That goes for me too Susan. Am always thankful for what I got for everything is His and for the challenges I'm facing, they could be worse!
I pray special blessing for each of you, and may God ease all your pains...no matter the type. Love to all, Goodnight. Faye
Love you too, Faye. I certainly appreciate all the prayers I can get!!!
Good night..
Thank you Faye, Love You! Night night!
Crissy (Susan says in a stern voice) you Do Not complain too much. I was just saying that I do......... when I hear the troubles that others have, I realize how lucky I am........ You're a sweet lady, and your mom is suffering, and so are you - because of it. You're feeling your DM's pain. That's a wonderful trait in a daughter.
(((((((((((((Crissy))))))))))))))))
Mornin' All! I'm late getting going as usual. Off to the races again. Behave yourselves today. I'll check in later when all the weeding and stuff is finished.
J
Morning ladies. Off to the post office... running with coffee in hand!!
Thanks forthe tote ideas, Jaye. You are always thinking of others. I found a nice pattern for free from JoAnn's on-line and I am going to make one for me as a test subject. Using my new sewing machine, too.
When you all talk about the warm weather and even in the 100's I sometimes envy you. We have had such a cool summer that the tomatoes don't want to ripen. The past week it has been in the 50's - 60's and I even wore a sweatshirt over the weekend. Today we have rain and more with cooler weather expected later this week and weekend. I love Fall, it is my favorite season, but I am just not ready to have cool weather when we really didn't have any summer to speak of.
And it is a long time until summer rolls around again!
Good Morning, sistahs!!
Juanita - did you know that we Always behave ourselves? It may be well, or it may be badly (you don't have to tell anyone which way you are/intend to behave lol), but you're always Behaving LOL
I think I'll behave today roflmfbo!!
Janice - I have a new sewing machine, too! And I have a good idea of my tote - just have to make the pattern lol My big thing is the 6" deep measurement.......... hmmmm gonna have to think about that one lol The tall, and wide are easy! So's the length of the straps........and the colour is chosen by my buddy, so that's easy too lol
~Susan~
Good morning and indeed it is a beautiful morning. Another cooler morning but temps to go about 90 this afternoon. Oh fall can't be to far away can it?
Update on Mom: no surgery period!! Cardiologist says no!! She is in really good health for her age but he thinks the stress will be to much. Yesterday was wild to say the least with calls back and forth with my sister. We firmly believe if he canceled the surgery twice then it just wasn't intended to be! Mom has gotten over the upset and decided now it is going to be fun having everyone take her in a wheelchair when we go shopping. Cracking jokes so she is doing okay. Thanks for all the prayers and concerns. Now on to other things.
Jaye, my gingers are up but no blooms yet. I guess they are just getting established for now. Can say as good for my brugs. Some odd reason I am having absolutely no luck with those.
That is good news indeed Maid M. Kel just left for the oncology center and I'll tell him about it.
Sunday, he went to the altar with that special prayer, and he was by himself, till the pastor knelt down next to him.
You know, if 2 were to ask Him in prayers .. they'll be answered, according to His will, of course.
Amen and Amen.. a big 'worry' chunk off your shoulder, and you won't be physically 'stretched'.
Good Lord Susan!!!!
You'll be sure chasing, calm, cool, collected Janice out of here!!!!!
Janice, most of us try to 'behave' here.. and that should be the operative word when it comes to Susan and Maid M.. and even Crissy :D
Not through with posting tote pictures. If I can't decide on a pattern, suffer along with me :D
Look like the 3 of us are bonding with our new machines. Janice, I'm still ways beyond straight stitch!!! Pretty sure Susan has found some culinary uses with her new sewing machine!!
Juanita, our Va'nian sistah.. hope you're feeling alright today. Protect yourself.. there are still bad allergens out there!
Umm... Susan, not a single plant in the box. So sorry. Kel had sealed it last night thinking I had forgotten to do so :( So there's nothing illegal in it. Not to worry, when I cut down the brugs, I'll send you some. It will be better then instead of this heat.
no probs At All, dear sistah Jaye!!
I'd have a lot of "doing" to catch up with the behaviour of our "Maid M" lol - she's a gal after my own "twisted humour" heart (do I have a heart & a brain? hmmmmm gonna have to think about that!!) lol
Looks like we may go camping this w/e, my DH & I (now, to find someone to look after Baby!). We couldn't take a cat with us, cuz there'd be no way to keep her on the campsite in a tent - she'd likely claw holes in it LOL
Susan, I can't imagine you camping! The wilderness is NOT prepared for you!!!!
Baby must be glad it's getting its' own vacation from Mama :D
Yes you have a heart!! If not you won't be here!!
'Scuse me? Me? Misbehave? Whatever would give you that impression. I am so sadden to think you ladies think I get into trouble--nope trouble gets into me!! LOL
Been busy trying to get some things done.
BTW, Jaye did the email come through with the Totes? I was curious if it did.
I camp, with a tent, blow up matteresses (ain't Nothing going to get me to sleep on the ground! I have enuff trouble getting up from kneeling in the garden!), in a serviced campsite so I can have my coffee pot & plug-in cooler/heater! I love the outdoors, and go walking in the woods (especially nice first thing in the morning with the dew on the leaves, and the sun juuuuuuust coming up, when it's QUIET!! omy, that doesn't sound very quiet, does it?).
I haven't been camping since 2005.... Bob finds it easier to plan things like camping, now that he's in a reg job, and not construction ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
Hey, girls... haven't read much, but I did see that Marion's mom isn't going to have surgery... good news.
Just coming by to say "hey" to my friends... Don's home, so that means I don't get a day to myself again yet.
Been a bit busy lately, and I thought I'd finally share one of the things I've been busy with. This is partly all of your faults... so, don't fuss at me.
I will add that I thank you all for your encouragement... I love you all... now, we'll see if you have been telling me the truth. Check this out.

o my, BJ - you made these? Good for you, sistah!!
I'm sure you'll have success selling them ^_^
Keep us in the loop!!
~Susan~
thanks Susan... I made my first one last year for a DG friend here in a swap... and everyone here has encouraged that to keep going. Now, we'll see what happens with people who don't actually know me.
ah - I see what you mean, BJ. Very astute of you to think about that. Not to be neg or anything, but I'd gotten encouraged to sell my services as an embroiderer, by my friends/family. As an art, it's very expensive, and no one wanted to pay my wages, let alone the addition of the materials!
Yours is a different thing entirely, because your costs are more in keeping with the economy. I remember thinking that I would have been making about .50cents an hour for a wedding dress bodice to be completely covered, along with the wrist length sleeves, and I wasn't going to sell myself cheaply LOL
I was doing something like 6 stitches to the inch......very close & tight. It's amazing what some people think is fair to an artiste! I think the bride decided to get a ready-made dress after she talked to me lol
I hear ya, Susan. I do machine embroidery too, but the public just doesn't want to pay what it's worth... so, I just do the logo now on Don's work shirts, and use it for some embellishments on some crafts.
BJ, those are so nice! Looks like you have been busy with the clay! How is the new girl adjusting?
Well, Ina has decided that she hates the dress code at school... it's going to be her biggest culture shock to have to wear more conservative clothes... a real crimp in her style (as she puts it). Guess we're going shopping this weekend.
Is there a nurse in the house?????? I just bit the end of my tongue and it's not bleeding but I scraped it really good and it's numb! Help!!!
Oh Crissy! I know that hurts like the dickens, and then some! Not much you can do for it, other than wait a bit. It will be sore for a bit!
Ouch, Crissy - don't do it again, do you hear me!! (oh oh...... Susan's being her "mother-stern" self again LOL)
Do what they did for me, when I was 6, and stuck my tongue on a frozen chain link fence - put a bandaid on it LOL
I just got good news about my brother Roger. He went in for his angioplasty, and they said he has no blockage in his heart, so he needs no further procedures! I guess he got a false positive report from the stress test, so were told! Praise the LORD he is OK!
Thanks for the prayers!
LK
((((((((((((LK))))))))))))))) That is Fabulous News!!
You, and your family, must be sooooooooo relieved!!!!!!!!!!!!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
LK that happened to my mom probably about 10 years ago, they said the stress test showed that she had a massive heart attack sometime in her life and she shouldn't even be walking, and accused her of lying when she told them she's never had a heart attack. They were going to send her through all of these tests so she went back to her dr and demanded another stress test, the second one came out perfect. She has an electric issue now that's real, but they said it's nothing to worry about.
The end of my tongue is still numb... no pain at all lol
Thanks Maid M. I love that site!
They're beautiful BJ. The prices are very reasonable especially for the sets.
My dial up is truly slow today.. LK, praise God, Roger's fine!!!
Crissy.. that must have hurt bad. 'Watch your mouth' now girl ;) Lolol!!
BJ, they are wonderful and I do hope we are proven to be right!! Which of course we are--you do really great work. Please keep us posted on progress. Yes, Mom surgery has been canceled for good and it is some what of a relief. Atleast we can keep up with her when we do go shopping now!!!
Oh my, the dress code. LOL sure wish they had one where Kim teaches--I have never seen so much uh, uh, well suffice to say enough seen!!!!
Crissyr, ouch!!! Susan sticking your tongue to an iced fence? Now atleast I do know better than that even if you were a child--LOL
Linda Kay, thank goodness that the news was so good. I feel your sigh of relief here--the warm breeze that just blew through.
BJ tell Don hello and I haven't heard much about the red hot chili pepper lately?
Awesome news LK!! Yay!!
Susan you are so sweet, thank you!!
Oh Marion, I'm so glad to hear that your mom doesn't have to go through the stress of surgery and she's joking and what-not, excellent!!
Wow BJ, those are really nice! Good Job! Sounds like Ina is a very typical chick.
Well, 25 minutes after my last post and my tongue is still numb!
Oh people are being mean here at work, one keeps trying to prove me wrong when I say my opinion about something, like Swine Flu, or Politics, even the traffic this morning. No wonder I bit my tongue :o
As for Ina, BJ, please tell her that at least she's not living in a Muslim country ;)
Pretty sure they know the freedom of speech, right, Crissy?
Well, Maid M, we're down to just the Red Hot Pepper and the pick up right now... just got the pick up out of the shop, and the Tuscon started cutting out on us... so, we took it in to the dealership for it's 100K mile check up last Thursday, the day Ina arrived. On Fri morn, they called to tell us there would be about $900 worth of work... ok. So, Sat morn, while Don was on a plane and unreachable, the service sales guy called me to tell me there was another $1000 worth of work that needed to be done, bringing the ticket up to around $1900 + tax... and I told him that I would tell Don when he landed. He took that as an approval to go ahead and do the work. Then, he left for the weekend... cause Don could not reach him. On Monday morn, Don called as soon as they opened... and he never called back. Don called again that afternoon, and someone else told him that the repairs would be around $1980 +tax, and the car would be ready on Tues. Tues, Don called early to see if we could come get it, and they told him that they were waiting on the airbag recalled part, and the bill would be $2800. WOAH!!!!.... we walked around the house the rest of the day yesterday PISSED... and still haven't talked to the original sales guy that called Saturday. This morning, they tell us that that guy no longer works there... and the bill is still $2800.
Two problems I have with this... 1. I never approved the extra work... I only said I'd let Don know... and 2. What tax rate would add $900 to that bill?
So, sorry Maid M... you didn't ask for all that... but the little red pepper is all we have for right now, besides the truck... and we have to pick up Eve in Dallas this weekend with no vehicle to hold us all... my nerves are shot.
OMG!! Shouldn't there be a written estimate if the work is gonna cost you more than $1,000 to safeguard both sides?
BJ, it would be much cheaper if you have taken advantage of the 'Clunker' program....if you had known...
So sorry sistah, hope this will be resolve your way soon.
