LOL and lots of something to ward off the moths and what-not.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye those are pretty!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trisha, Crissy, I bet they would do well in your climate!
I had brought the Peach with me from La. It took 3 years for those to bloom. You know, first year they eat, 2nd year sleep then 3rd year... reap the flowers!
Surprisingly, the ordinary white ones and the rest bore flowers the following year.
Easy to take care of... only bugs you see on them are the butterflies.
Just mist over them once a week in the summer for humidity effect.

Wonder if Maid M and Deborah's gingers are doing okay.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I was about to ask how they would do here....may have to try some...when would I plant them ?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Remind me please, Trisha. I'll send you some in the fall or if you can wait, in the spring, where you can plant them outside right away.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Spring would be best as I have ZERO room to over winter anything more than what I currently have.....I am already starting to panic at the plants I have that need to come in for the winter....most people have garage space, but that is our workshop....no natural light and Bill keeps it verrrry warm during the winter.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I feel for you, Trisha - we don't have a garage NOR a basement, and I'm trying to see if my DH will put his tools in his shed, rather than the porch, so I can store my dahlias in it.
I'd never grown dahlias before, and need to store them in no colder than 10c......(50F).
Where do you suppose I'll store 10 dahlia plants? siiiiiiiiiiiigh...........
oh - I also have to store my brugmansia.... I suppose I'll need to dig it up and bring it inside ^_^

Here's my hibiscus:

Trisha, you won't have to worry about bringing those hedychiums indoors.

Now Susan, I am thinking of sticking a brug cutting in the box, but don't want to break the law :(
Poor you. I can imagine your bathrooms to be crowded with overwintering plants!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's another that hasn't bloomed since I planted it, it's not hearty so I'm not sure if it'll make it.

Aren't hibs such beautiful plants??
Thanks Crissy, yours look so healthy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy, I may be wrong, but thought I see a making of a bud on a lower branch.
Give it time.. one of mine didn't bloom right away. Took the following year for buds to show. Maybe try feeding it at least thrice a week?
That should take care of what it's lacking.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's another one, sorry, had a phone call.

Jaye - i got sent 3 brug cuttings, and only 1 survived. Don't worry about the law re: sending plants. Just make sure it's packed well, and I would have you send it now, rather than later, cuz I wouldn't want it to too cold.....

Oh, I just realized what you said - you're going to send me a Brug cutting? KEWL!!
They are such majestic plants, and I love 'em! This is my 1st year growing them, so I haven't seen my own bloom.....

I think I'm going to tear out so many other plants, and grow Brugs, Dahlias, Hibiscus and roses lol
I can't show you hibiscus right now, but I have loads of seeds. It's Hibiscus Canabinis Amethyst and it's at the bottom of this page:
http://www.georgiavines.com/Seeds/hibiscusseeds.html
It greets me each morning with up to 14 flowers (1 day only), but it's so cheerful.
thing is (you mentioned a plant that's taller than your house?) it's very tall! I have it in a container, and it's about 7' tall!!

On the purple leaved plant that 'bud' you see is the spent bloom. That's the last time it bloomed, at Lowes. It is a different variety so maybe it's already done for the year. The pink and red one just keep on going...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

crissy those are beautiful!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thank you, can't wait til they get bigger

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Love all red hibs! Grandma used to have a hedge of just reb hibs, bordering the neighbour's yard.

Okay.. is this tall enough. This was taken last year. This year, it's taller!!!

Wow! Now those are big!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The ones I grow in the open sun.. grow up to 6ft. Only the white ones or the commonly called 'butterfly' ginger, are short.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

No I won't Trisha! His head still not normal after getting compliments from the sistahs when we're at BJ's!!

Well, we're off. Simple lunch today and catfish tonight. Wish I could bring all of you with me. We'll be sure to clean out the Ryan's buffet bar!!!

Cya!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Aw Jaye, I'm with you! (not eating all of your catfish though!)

You know, there's one thing worse than a continuous cough, someone sitting next to you telling you to stop.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Stop that coughing!!! Lolol.. at least it's not continous sneezing!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I think I'd rather be sneezing, this hurts. I'm on my 6th Hall's and they're not doing much.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I don't know crissy.....I got a sneezing fit a few days ago (allergies) and they can be just as bad a coughs:(

Don't want his head to swell....keep a good hat on him...lol!!!

Catfish!!!!! I do Love Catfish and Hushpuppies......that is what Aunt Joyce fixes every time we make it to Oklahoma for a visit....and she is a great cook!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm not much for hushpuppies for some reason, but I can eat me some catfish!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Well Jaye..the pics of the totes prove to me why I shouldn't do a sewing swap ;)) Not my gift as much as I would like it to be. Eat some catfish for me.

Crissy, I have the same problems with the coughing thing. Always have. Every time I get a cold or URI I literally cough my guts out. After awhile your chest is so sore you can't breathe. I feel for you girl.

Hey to everyone. Not in a very chatty mood right now. Maybe tomorrow.

When I hear about other's troubles, I realize how blessed I am.
I may get the flu, or wrench my knee, or my hip goes out, but I have a job, and a DH, my DM and my DD (all grown up and married), with a roof over my head, and no wolf at my door.

I count myself lucky indeed to have all my sistahs here - you make my day more joyful than you know!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, I’m so sorry, it’s the worst feeling to feel helpless. I hope everything turns out for the best with your mother.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I sure can get myself lost, missed the new room and I suppose all that wonderful pie is gone.... I've got lemons on my tree so why don't I make a pie, well I'm not much of a cook do better at eating than cooking.

Jaye, Kel can make me a couple of those chicken wraps. They look soooo good and I do love Mexican food.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hope! There you are!! Miss you!! Thank you!

I guess we're all kinda down in the dumps today, aren't we?

Laura thank you, I just hope this dr will make it all go away so she can live her life! She's in perfect health other than her pain from that stupid nerve. The nerve of that nerve!!

Yea Susan, I complain entirely too much. Why do we do that?
