Coffee's on! Hope the spartan breakfast will do for you. Got to emulate Cindy and her weight loss;) So, it's wheat toast and just a pat of butter. Sorry... can't give up butter :(

If you're wondering why the tote picture...
Now you know some of us are incorrigible swappers.. and some have committed to the the tote swap. So, just helping out with ideas!

Susan, the box is ready to be mailed out, but Kel says he'll bring me to the post office Wednesday :( Said he won't have time as he'll be stuck at the oncology center this morning, and then straight to the shop after that. Ooooh, if only I do have a friend that I can call for help.
Not able to drive as my feet have been giving me some problems. Sorry....

Today will be a sewing day. Hope you all have a productive day.. or just rest!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, your Merlin is the most brazen of all the kitties here!! He loves to sleep in my purse, and will look for it high and low when he wants to take a nap.

Talking of crazy kitty....
Crissy!!! (Not Crissy who's crazy but Tiga) How are you? Hope your job hasn't caused you to do some wall climbing lately :D

Thumbnail by heavenscape
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

If I were closer Jaye, I would take you anywhere you wanted to go but then Kel might stop us soon as I think quilting shops might be high on the list! LOL

Off and running this morning--appointments in town and will keep the girls at 3 until about 6. Will catch up with everyone later.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That sounds like a good plan, Maid M. I will just have to buy some lemon drops along the way ;)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning Everyone!! I went to my mom's in Oklahoma City for the weekend, she's not doing good at all, and I feel so helpless.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((Crissy))))))))) No don't feel that way. She doesn't need any negative vibes.. pray for her Crissy.
I am sure your Mum wants you to continue today as you do everyday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for Crissy's Mom! Some ((((HUGS)))) too!
Jaye, Merlin is so precious in your purse. He knows where it is comfy, and is he ever growing! Wow!
Marion hope you, and everyone else lurking has a great day!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
Crissy sorry to hear your mom is ill. Prayers and get well wishes here for her.
I'm not on a diet, all I did was cut back on the amount that I eat, have added more fruits and veggies. I still have my chocolate and ice cream just not a huge amount. So all I'm really doing is counting calories. Instead of a dinner size plate I use a salad plate, drink a glass of water before I eat. I also drink lots of green tea.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, Merlin is Kel's favorite as they are both alike.. always into some mischief. Merlin can leap high too :(

Cindy, the perfect diet, should be the Choccies and Ice Cream diet. You know we'll stick to that!!!!
I do drink green tea everyday. It regulates my BM too ;)

Glenview, IL

YUMMY! Holding out my plate, for a slice please?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That pie looks delicious and it just happens to be my second favorite kind!!! (Deep dish apple being #1) I have never been able to master the meringue on top. You did good girl!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Jaye, I need you to add my Sisiter, and my Brother to the prayer list please?

My sister Kathy is going in the hospital Friday for an ankle replacement, and when they did the pre op blood work, they found that she has stage 3 kidney failure.
Then I heard from my Brother Roger. He went in for a stress test, and they discoverd he has a small blockage in the bottom of his heart. He is going in Wed, for a angioplasty!
Please say a prayer for them?
Thanks
LK
When it rains it pours!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Dear LK How much more must you endure? I am praying so hard for all your family members. I must admit I'm really glad to "see" that YOU are doing well. And is Todd getting ready for a knee surgery too? And Andy too. Dear Lord please take care of this family....

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

My plate is here also Judy. Meringue? That was to entertain the kids as they would always try to blow it off when they were little. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Aww sweet LK. Another round of anxious nights and days and waiting for news. I understand your siblings are quite far away from you. So the distance just make it worse.
We'r here for you LK. They're on the prayer list, and I'll tell my church prayer warriors too.

Sistah Judy! 3 slices for me please!!!! Now you know Kel would want 2!! Wait till he sees the pic, he'd want the whole thing!!!

I can't make a perfect meringue.. do you add cream of tartar?

Now for you sistahs that are in the tote swap.. how about this for ideas.
I know a couple of you don't need patterns ;)

Thumbnail by heavenscape
(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I have a question! What do y'all use to stiffen the sides of the tote to make it stiffen up?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh (((((((Jaye)))))) - your poor feet! Box? OH yesssssssss I remember now - the safron rice flavouring! oh Thank you, sweet sistah! You're so thoughtful ^_^

((((((((Crissy))))))) I can appreciate how you feel about your mom. If nothing else, you're There for your mom, and I Know she appreciates that, so don't feel helpless. It's so debilitating to you.......

(((((((((LK)))))))))))- My prayers are going to you for your family and you. Bless you lady, for all you're going through. God only gives us what we can handle. Like they say "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger" (and who are THEY???)

Have a wonderful day, sistahs!!

~Susan~

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Judy, Kel just walks in. He almost lick the screen!! Lolol.
He says his mother makes a "Boomerang Pie". Everytime the kids eat it, it comes back :(

Barb, Kel wants to know how your Norm's doing.

Sorry Barb, don't mean to sound callous there. I truly want to ask you about Norm, but got this mind that have major CRS!!!

Audrey, I think Pellon makes a stiff interfacing.
I normally just quilt the fabric first or use pre-quilt fabric. For the base, I've seen some insert plain cardboard between fabrics.

Lunch sistahs!!
Kel made us wraps... chicken, bacon, shredded cabbage, cilantro and avocado.

Thumbnail by heavenscape
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ooooooooooooh love wraps! and they sound yummy ^_^
"pass the plate, please....."
ooooooooops forgot my napkin.... you can dress me up, but you can't take me out to eat lol
Good thing I'm sitting at my desk lol

~Susan~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks everyone. I think it is Gods way of making us stronger, and better prayer warriors!
Food looks good, passing my plate please?

Jaye you are the enabler, for showing those totes, I think I have just about everything I have for mine!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'd forgotten about the stiffener for the sides.....thank you Jaye, for the reminder (and lunch! I forgot to bring mine - I guess it's Taco Salad for me. It's what the cafeteria has for Tuesday special....it's the one item on their menue that I can handle eating...LOL).

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love Mexican Food, ya'll are killing me! LOL!!!

I'm 6 hours away from my mom, so I'm not really 'there for her.' Glad Lynn is a great husband! She'll have this problem until she finds a doctor that can and will cut a nerve. I do pray for her constantly, but that doesn't take away that good ole helpless feeling.

I want some pie, and not the boomerang one...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just popping in to say Good Afternoon to you all....sending out lots of prayers.....

Wraps for lunch and lemon pie for dessert......can't ask for better than that!! Oh Yummm!!!

Cool and cloudy here today...rain and a little breezy last night....just enough that the dog was unhappy and kept waking us.....may have to have a nap today.

Have a great afternoon ladies....will check in later.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, those pics are from the link you graciously shared with us!!
Need a variety of ideas here. My assigned buddy happen to have discriminating tastes.. just like y'all!

Audrey brought it up, Susan. Don't think I'll use stiffeners. Like the slouchy, fallen look.. just like my ehem... Lolol!!

Crissy, your mum is certainly very very lucky to have a mate that cares. Can't take all your worries away, but at least you know she'll be well taken care of.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Give me some of that cool and breezy Trisha. Wish it's so here :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ever have one of these days?

LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Downloading it now.

Another great tip for those bottom inserts.....heavyweight plastic needlepoint canvas.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I recognize that day!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I need to enroll myself at one of those Memory Enhancement Seminars! But I'll require one of you to remind me of the date :(

Too funny LK!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL LK! I have one of those days every day! LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Days, weeks, years......... had 'em all!!

I don't know what it is now, other than it's getting cool in the night and early morning, then summer-time hot during the day. I want to stay in my bed until it warms up at noon.......... and I'm not the only one at work who feels that way (time to hibernate, eh?)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hmmm... hibernate sounds good there Susan, but my garden will be sorely neglected.
Aha!!!! Maybe if I garden at night with lights on!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Some hedychiums and hidden gingers bloom early this year. Wonder if winter will be on time?

Here's Kahili.

Thumbnail by heavenscape
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just one of the many buds, opening for my old favorite.
Hedychium Augustus Peach.
This is the original, acquired from Stokes in Louisiana more than a decade ago.
It's taller than the house. Butterflies are already fighting over this cluster.

Here's Pink V. A very light raspberry color.
Love all the hedychiums. Mulch them well, at least 6 inches in the winter, and they survived 3 days of snow and ice last winter.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Ohhhh those look and sound wonderful!!!

Going to get a bit of cleaning done and play with the paint for awhile before bike ride time....

Sun has come out so the dog is napping now.....grrr.
