Dibs on Kassy's fairy boots!
More Basil
LOL....Do ya think Blahnic does fairies? UMMMM shoes for fairies.
LOL, Lynn, will they fit you?
I'm hoping it's only a papilloma. He has one on his side, but this one feels much more solid. But that could be because of where it is located too.
This dog is almost 14 years old, and has been on congestive heart meds for at least 2 years now. He was my mom's dog. I got him for her when he was a puppy.
And yes Jean, that would be my son's MIL. She comes up every year. But as cold as it is getting already, she may not like it this year..........LOL
Temp right now is 66, and that's probably the high for the day!
We just keep telling her this is NOT cold! Hard to believe that she was raised here!!
Hey Lynn, I have an Uncle who could have carved those.........or rather I had. He was a wood carver, and he carved me the cutest little pair of shoes. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of them. They are at my BF's house.
Saw where they had frost warnings out for Northern Wis. Hope that's not you Kassy.
Didn't realize you were supposed to plan where you planted stuff. I just dig a hole and stick it in.

LOL
I try not to plan either Jim ;-)
No, luckly we didn't get hit with the frost yet. That would be more then likely way in the upper part of Wisconsin. BF is in the upper part of Wisconsin, but yet the lower part of the upper part, if you can figure that one out...................LOL
Will have to find a map for you on where he is.
He better not have gotten frost anyway :(
I won't be talking to him until tonight.
ARGH!!! How am I supposed to know which variety of arugula I have? I'm beginning to resent the plants my friend left
Trina, it doesn't matter the variety....arugula is arugula....just ask it....grin

well it kinda does if you have 2 dozen of then your trying to get rid of...must find them a home..hate to see them all go to the compost pile!
Plant'em and eat 'em in salads...they are annuals.
Arugula makes a great salad. Mix Arugula, Radicchio, and Romaine Lettuce, a few Olives, Parmesian, and Balsamic for an Italian salad that compliments any pasta dish!
not all of them and I'm not sure swedish ivy tastes very good
Just ask Dave Trina, he has some good recipes ;-)
He's gonna get tired of me asking him what plant is what
Trina I would have started resenting them yesterday lol, plus that's probably a lot of salad...
too bad you're not closer, tonight is make our own pizza night and we're having salad too.
no he's not :)
Trina, we don't call him the Chocolate Plant man for nothing....you should see the gorgeous pictures of his farm in Keaau.
I would bet the Plectranthus (swedish ivy) is edible...Cuban oregano is a plectranthus and it is used in cooking.
Boy did ya notice how I just snuck that ID in there....giggle
Hey hey hey...On this day in 1959 the Coaster's song Poison Ivy hit number one on the top 100 chart.
at night when you're sleeping poison Ivy comes a'creeping around....gee Lynnie, you think it is related to the Sorghum Corn stalk?
Poison Ive, hey-ey -ey-ey-ey..........
Oh Dave....
What was that song by Dick and Deedee? Oh plant-lover boy....grin
oooh I haven't gone out there yet to check on it, we went for a bike ride instead....if I try to see it from the inside it ducks behind the playhouse....sneaky sorghum corn!
Gee Lynnie, you didn't tell us it was mobile.....going mobile....let the police and the tax man catch me I'm mobile....(WHO fan too)
Dave, how do you get the grass to be so well behaved around the plants?
I can name number four....Yea!!! Ficus elastica and if it has a red tint to it Ficus elastica rubra....
number 3 kind of reminds me of a Hoya, but don't take my word on that!
woohoo...Now I'm starting to get somewhere!
I have seen someone post a Hoya with 2 sets of different colored leaves. Kind of reminded me of that 3
I think the last one is the Chamaedorea elegans http://www.hydroflora.cz/mini/Chamaedorea%20elegans.jpg
and this is for the very first palm you asked about...the one in plant ID forum

The fiddleheads on that fern are beautiful....thats it. I am declaring my yard a part of Hawai'i and demanding better weather.
grin
one of the first 2 was sold as a cushan fan palm I think...they said it could survive the winters in my zone...of course they said the 2 bananas (not edible) could too but I'm not willing to risk it
wish I lived in hawaii! I hate being cold!!!!! Almost bought a piece of property their off of ebay but I didn't have anyway to get their to check it out so I passed it up
Trina, here is a link to a really cool nursery. When you have time, just browse around their site. Should give you some answers and insight to care for some of your extended family.
