Lyndonville, NY

Tubby, I second what Barb said.....Shirley, I love that man of yours! I think your days must be filled with so many blessings to share with each other.

Shirley, I have to ask...is he one of those men that you want to strangle sometimes but have the darndest time staying mad at him? LOL

Have a great day all, battling migraine in progress.
Debbie

Morning everyone..just trying to wake up a bit here at the office then I'll chime in..in the meantime, read your posts, love the jokes...

Glenview, IL

Good morning Everyone!

I sure hope you all had a grand weekend.
Mine was very busy but I had loads of fun.
Went to the wedding on Saturday, Oh my gosh it was Beautiful.
The entire Mass and wedding was said in Polish!
I've never been to an ethnic wedding...meaning spoken in another language.
Simply beautiful...The reception was just as amazing!! The sweetest part was, the Maid of honor first said her speech and Polish and then recited again in English just for Steve and I, We were the only guests who did not speak the language.

Liz, I'm so sorry to hear you had the flu, glad it's over.

Oh Tubby, You are blessed with a loving family. I know how tough it is to not just sit and watch, But i am so Proud of you that you did.
Now, you just sit back and relax and have fun with your family, lolol I bet you are a wonderful supervisor too. Just remember, We all love ya too.

Betty, i hope you had a funfilled trip...
Am excited to hear how it all went.

Debbie, How did your Trip to College go? Hope was good and you are now on the couch feet up!! Doctor mom talking here, follow orders, ok.

Mary, What are you up to?...

Trisha, glad the sale was good and mom decided it was too much trouble, lol I agree.

Waiving hi to Shar, How are the gardens doing?

I've got to run around for a little bit, so will be back soon.

Enjoy the day all, it a gorgeous day here.

Glenview, IL

Oops, Forgot to say hi to Bev. I hope you and Scotty are doing well.

Susan, Edited to say...Oops, Barb, not Susan, lololLOL in the beginning I had a terrible time keeping up. Sometimes when it gets overwhelming, I have to reread alot,lol...But I do very much enjoy chatting with everyone in this thread and a few others...So hang in there you'll do great.
Yow, You sure got quite the education about e-mail...will have to check mine, but i am also glad you got it resolved.

Haha, see thats how "up" I am, sorry didn't get your name right the first time, duh on me.

LindaKay, i hope Andy is doing Better. How are you doing?

Good afternoon!!! This is going to be a long post, just fyi.

LK I'm so glad your son is being released and is in good shape. Hopefully nothing shows it ugly head later on.

Bev you never know about the dr and the dizzy pills, he just might be right. I've said that my dr has been wrong about a lot of things, but he never is.

Susan I'm so sorry you gave the flu to your DM and DH! Dave gave me his lovely cold, I hope I don't give it to my mom, had it all weekend while I was there.

Liz get over that flu! And don't send it this way :)

Tubby and Shirley I've been thinking about the two of you all weekend and how he's doing. Thank you so much for the update and praying that the things on his lungs are what you think they are and not anything worse!

Betty you're hilarious! I didn't tell you to not pay attention to the whole thing, but to keep your tv on in case of a warning. Silly Goose!

OK! Friday was absolutely horrible, until I got Dave's family out of my rear. I did get my driving time on both ends, so that was good. Here we go with my drama!

On Thursday night Dave text me saying that his step-mom, Bobbie, called his brother Donnie in Berkeley, CA telling him that Dave refused to come over and help his dad out of the bath tub, so Donnie called Dave chewing him out. FIL weighs 400 pounds, he's 6'4", and 70 years old. Dave is 5'8" and weighs 210. Dave was at work anyway and he told Bobbie there was no way he could make it over, let alone pick his dad up out of a bath tub, that's ridiculous to even think that. Well I'm working like a mad dog at work Friday looking forward to leaving at noon, and Dave's Aunt Eller calls. She's with Bobbie and they have my FIL, John, at the ER for chest pains and they need Dave there Right Now! in case they need someone to carry John. I asked if he was in critical condition or serious condition, Bobbie said that he was fine and expected to be released, that's why they need Dave to carry his dad. WHAT??? Dave was asleep and not answering my calls either, I got mad and boy did I cut loose. Bobbie got on the phone, I told her that she needed to keep her mouth shut, to not call Donnie in CA, and that's what they make 9-1-1 and Medic Alert for!! John has done nothing for Dave ever, not even give him a birthday card when he was a child, and they expect Dave to be there at every whim, and Dave says absolutely not. AND There's things called 'Jobs' that we all have to go to. I don't think she likes me very much, no love lost. Oh, and thanks for breaking my concentration!!!

At 11:45 Dave called me back and I told him everything, turns out that was the same story they told him the night before when he was at work. Don't know when they actually took him to ER, but he was send home regardless. John ended up back in ER on Saturday morning because his leg went numb, turns out he just sat wrong and the feeling came back but Bobbie kept telling him he was having a heart attack. I'll show her a heart attack! LOL

Anyway, my mom is not doing good. She has to wear sweat pants all the time, can barely walk, has an air mattress in the back of their Ford Escape she has to lay on when they go anywhere, and it will be like this until she gets the nerve(s) cut. Debbie gave her a doctor's name in Rochester, that dr has referred her to another dr in the same medical complex, and that dr has referred her to another dr in Baltimore. She's hoping that dr calls her today. Good Grief.

We went to the casino for about an hour, Riverwind, and I lost my $20.00. There's a casino at the OK, AR state lines that I've been looking for for a while now, well I put it in my GPS and found it, it's Choctaw Casino. Went in, went to the bathroom, sat down at a machine, put a $5.00 bill in it, hit the max bet button once, nothing. Twice, nothing, Third and last time, hit $100!! Cashed out and came home! Thank you very much LOL

Anyway, took the day off today, did most of my weeding this morning and it's about time for Dave to get up and head out to work, then I'm going to get a pedi, mani, and come back home and clean the kitchen, apparently we've been plagued with German Cockroaches, so I've got to pull everything out of the cabinets in the kitchen so the guy can come tomorrow afternoon and spray. I think they're behind the dishwasher, they've only shown up on that one counter.

See ya'll later!!

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy....I am sorry, but I have to ask. How do you know they are German? Do they have an accent? Walk funny? Sorry...the devil made me do it.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

omgoodness Crissy - what a busy time you're having!

Thanks for thinking about my DM - at 90 she doesn't need to get dehydrated from the "runs"....... I was rather worried about her.......

You have nasty family probs - talk about making a big deal out of John's pinched nerve, and worrying everyone about a heart attack when all it was, was a pinched nerve!! Talk About Nerve! (I couldn't help the pun.........! LOL)

I hope your DM feels better soon. She must be exhausted all the time, to have to sleep on a mat in the vehicle.....and your DM with actual bad nerve(s).... Poor lady - she must be very annoyed about the back-and-forthing of referrals. I know I would be!
I'll keep you and your DM in my prayers. bless you both.

~Susan~

Lyndonville, NY

Sharon, where are you?

I am out planting a couple roses. I wish I had your arches in the front of the house for them to grow up. Send your designer to me, OK?

Did you get to go out in the boat with your son this weekend? Actually nice here today, not so hot. Thought of you and that beautiful marina and all those boats.....and good looking men. OH WAIT...thats another topic! My bad.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Funny thing, I have a new climbing rose to plant too, it's a Peggy Martin, sent to me from a friend in Arizona. It's a climber and I am thinking of planting it in front of the arches. Think that will be pretty? I'll have to put wire on the arches though, to hold the rose. They tell me it is a fast climber and prolific bloomer. It's sort of pink/whitish, and get this....thornless!! So anyway, I am thinking of it climbing the arches. Can't send you the arch designer, think he moved away, but it is a Mediterranean design that won some sort of design award in 1970, I think. I love Mediterranean architecture.

Ahhhh yes, the boat.
Son was here for the weekend, and I went over but didn't go out with him. Too many things to do. But I love the boat, and wish you had been here at a time when he could have taken us for a ride. The lake covers about 160,300 acres, and has 2400 miles of shoreline....we can go a lot of places on that lake, all the way to the Gulf Coast if we wanted. Y'all shoulda stayed. Here's a picture of it in the dock, can't see it very well, but at least get the idea.

I've either been on it or it has been in its slip, so I don't have a picture of it out in the water yet.

Hope you all are well, or feeling much better, or both.

Just realized you can see Ethan's head peeping over the back seat.
Funny.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, I’m sure we’d all be willing to make you Sage’s honorary Grandmother, she already has many non-traditional Grandmothers, so why not one more.

I normally get along with people too, though it’s hard for me to make real friends. The only real issues I have are with stupid, willfully ignorant or bigoted people; I often think those are the same thing.

Tubby, I pray you get the best news possible.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Laura, I was just thinking that I need some darn friends around here to do things with. I don't have any friends here hardly because of the same reason! Everyone likes me, and I like them, but for some reason when it comes down to 'being friends' I always back off. I don't know why, and I have tons of friends in CA so that wasn't always the case, I wish all of my friends in Ca would come back here for a little while. :(

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, the older I got the harder it seemed to find real friends. I moved a lot when I was younger and it seemed like I could find friends in days; but the last person I met, in person, that I thought I could really be friends with was about 4 years ago. Part of it is that I raised my standards; I really want my friends to be willing to invest in the relationship, I don't want fair weather friends and I want them to accept me for who I am. Another part is that my interests and who I am makes it so there aren't a lot of people that are interested in what I am, so we don't end up hanging out. It depresses me sometimes, but the few friends I do have are true friends and worth their weight in gold and that includes several people on here.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ahem........ I don't have a lot of friends, either, but it's mostly because of me......
I'm a rather intense person, who's always doing the best she can cuz I've gotten so tired of having to "prove" myself in a job (I've had too many jobs that weren't the "right fit" - now I know what that means.....). People tend to think I'm judging Them, when all I'm doing is being hardest on myself. I've had people feel threatened by me, and I'm not like that at all!! I've had people tell me I'm a "know it all"....
I like people, try to do the best for them, and helping my boss at work is my first job!
Y'know something......... I think I've worked with too many people that are insecure (like me, but in a different way. They think they're being judged for who they are, and I think I'm being judged for not doing/being the absolute best!)
Guess it's not "in" to be a perfectionist, with some groups........ siiiiiiiiiiigh
Off my soapbox now LOL

~Susan~

Lyndonville, NY

Sharon, I love the arches on your house. They add such charm! And a photographers dream....I loved taking the pictures and wish I had time to do more.
I think the climbing rose would be beautiful on there. I thought of a wisteria actually when I first saw it...but a rose would be sweet also.

Now I remember seeing your sons boat. It is so pretty. Good thing we were not out on that lake that day....we would still be getting back from Oz!

Glenview, IL

Hi..

Been a very Busy Day, with lots of running around.

My goodness, I hear you with the whole friends thing...
Personally I am a very outgoing fun loving person, however I get "taken" advantage of more times than I care to know or feel, sooo
I do tend to Shy away...I wish to say, In this thread, Betty's Thread I have always felt a sence of love and caring. From the very beginning.
Betty, Our Earthly Angel, has always been there for me, introduced me to many a people that I do continue to chat with privately or otherwise, around DG. It has always been with her love and Acceptance that I may feel comfortable with who I am.

Funny, this should be the topic of conversation this very day, not really (funny, I mean) but I guess Ironic a better word.
Earlier today I received a D-mail from our Beloved Betty...She asked that I not question, however she will not be particpating in DG for a time, It is her hope and wish that we continue the thread.

And so I do hope that WE do continue for Betty, Besides, I've come to care for all of you.
Pray that she is well and Return Home to us shortly...

I have not mentioned this because i wasn't sure if Betty meant immediatley, thought she would make a post.

So...

Best, finally done running around today

Worst, Missing Betty already and having to deliver such a post to all of you.

Learned, Everyone, at sometime needs a helping hand, prayer or an offer of Love...
I already know this but, as all of you, I am stunned and i am asking you all including Lurkers to Please Keep our Betty in your prayers and thoughts.
May You come home Soon, Ok I am in tears so..Good night everyone.
Will chat tomorrow.

As Betty would say Sleep with the Angels.
Judy

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh betty......... you're an angel, and we'll miss your posts........ when you post again, I will be here ^_^
I'm so tired........ I wish I could take another vacation........

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I hope everything is alright with you and your family. Thoughts and Prayers out to you, we're going to miss you while your gone :(

Almost all of my friends are here on DG. My Facebook is my mom, a couple of her friends, a few people I knew from my old job in CA, and all of you! I'm so happy I get to see everyone twice! LOL

I'm going to bed, got to get up and go to work tomorrow. Maybe I'll ditch...

night/night!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

good night crissy!!
Take care, and sweet dreams to you. May angels guide you to your dreams...

~Susan~

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I remember my first post here..Like a wise A-- I said (shaking girls)!
It was Betty's encourgement & others that got me to stay..Thankfully..I have four Sisters..I now feel as though I have more Sister's than anyone..
Betty just know you'll be missed..Hope things work out..Will be looking forward to Your return. Thoughts & prayers for you..

Tubby

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hey tubby - I know just how you feel - I'm a wise A--, too lol
But, Betty & my sistahs keep me going when I don't think I have a friend..
Thank you all for being there for me. Sometimes I lurk, and don't say much, sometimes I say the wrong thing, but know this - and I know we all echo this - Betty deserves wonderful things in her life, and I'll pray very hard for the best for her......
Prayer is a wonderful, powerful way to "touch" someone, so Betty (((((((((((((((((Betty)))))))))))))), here's some hugs for you ^_^

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning!

How is everyone? I'm at work, didn't ditch but felt like it. Now I have tons and tons of work to do, stuff that I already had, other stuff is catch up crap.

I went back and read the threads in more detail a bit ago and OMG how did I ever miss those pictures of the tornadoes Betty took?? I see that way to much on the news from here in the states. I pray for all of the folks who lost during the storms.

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy they were from a news thread....she didn't take them. Thankfully she didn't even know about them until her son told her. But yes, they are awesome shots.

Your Mom seems like such a sweet lady, I have enjoyed talking with her. Sure hope she gets some answers.

Glenview, IL

Hi,

Well, I awoke very early this morning, with Betty on my mind.
Wishing her a good day as well as all of you.

Sigh, It is really nice to see how Betty has touched all of hearts and continues to do so.
I sure can relate to the stories you have each shared on having friends.
I am one in the same, Oh I have many friends...but as anyone else, they are far and wide.
Busy with their lives, and such.

I am closer to the people in and around DG, and Best Worst & Learned is my home base.
As mentioned yesterday Everyone of you have touched my heart as well.
We have had a great many come and and visit and some have chosen to leave or just read.
Alway nice to meet new friends and get to know one another, no one ever turned away.
Betty just wouldn't hear of it.

Geesh, I am starting to ramble on.
But I think I do want to tell you and Betty...

Really, I did not know if I should mention my d-mail, Betty wasn't clear weather she would post, and
LOL, How many times has she said good night and come right back, so not sure what to do.
In thinking, How worried We all get about those we don't hear from in a while, Especially Betty, Thought you should know, So i really hope that was the right decision.

Wanted to say,
Shar, Your new Rose sounds lovely. Oh I can just see it growing on the beautiful arbors of yours.
Sweet Boat, a Sweet little eyes peering over too!

Crissy, I will keep your mom in my prayers as well. Hope she finds a good Dr...I am sure all the bouncing referrels are not helping.
Goodness, Sorry to hear of the Drama Dave is facing too...

Debbie, LOL...Never commented on Your/Our RC!! Made me so happy not only to see it's your favorite picture, but one of my Favorite parts of our metting was how Absolutley excited you got, wish i had a picture of that.

Susan, I am glad that you come in and chat when you can...I saw over in SI you do amazing quilting!

Trisha, Am curious if you have picked up the paint brushes.

Aw Liz, What can i say, You are strong too! Don't let anyone tell you different.
Thank You with all my heart for taking my call last night, hope you enjoyed your dinner.

And Tubby, We love that you stuck around, You make us smile each day that you post.

Mary, Hope you days are good, Know how busy you must be...Whew soon the kids will be a in a routine, lol our scheduals continually change every other minute. Missing you.

OK...So far day is gorgeous out, I am free for a little bit so just trying hard to stay on top of this place.
I am in the Tote bag swap, got my name and very excited to begin..

What are all of you up to today?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Betty, whatever it is, take all the time you need.
Remember please that you are so loved and thought highly of. As I have said before, you are one amazing lady, and He broke the mold when He made you.

I am fully confident that your faith will see you through. Like so many here, I'll be praying for you.

Love you, Betty.
Jaye

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Judy you too are amazing. When Betty needed someone to watch over us for her, you jumped right in and are doing a fine job. You are keeping us interested in each other and let us know we aren't ever forgotten.
Today, I'm sewing on a quilt for my oldest grandson. I've mentioned in other threads about having this burning inside to "get things done". I have quilts for all six of my grandkids in mind and this is number three that will be getting done. Only three more to go!!!!
I need to get out to the fabric store for material for my tote swap buddy. I have the coolest pattern and I sure hope she likes it!!!!
Break is over - back to the machine.
Thanks, Judy

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm at work, for my fabulous boss ^_^
Seed - I'm not really a good quilter (you can't see the mistakes from the camera distance I shot it from lol), but I'm working on it!). There's an Amish saying that goes something like this "to attempt to make a perfect quilt is to attempt to be God, because only God is perfect" (sic).

I'm in the Tote Bag swap, but first I need to do the Signature Block swap.......... 10 blocks, and I know my pattern and have the material. I started ironing it last night, now to cut and cut some more lol

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debbie she is so glad I told you about her problem, as it's not everyone I talk about that with. She thanks you from the bottom of her heart, hopefully this doctor will call her soon. She has a surgery scheduled for mid September for something, I'm not sure what she's having done, but she feels this will help quite a bit, of course she's going to be dealing with a lot of pain til she gets that nerve cut.

Busy working at work, I'm sitting here thinking of about a billion other things I could be getting done at home... hhhmmmmm

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I was on face book a bit a go, and it showed Betty online, but she did not answer my text?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ONLY a billion? hahahaha
good for you for keeping the amount down!

((((((((((Crissy))))))))))))

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LK - maybe she's getting some coffee or lunch. Too bad we can't "see" when people are sitting at their computers lol
