Best/Worse/What did I learn today-visit with friends #119

Mary, that all sounds so nice! I am so thrilled you had a great birthday! It is wonderful when the family comes together like that.

Your youngest DD sounds like my youngest girl to a "T". I am counting the days! She had a complete and total melt down yesterday and said some very very hurtful things to me....just because I wouldn't go up in the attic which was 110 degrees!

Betty, you will be happy. I called the doctor and got reemed out good. Took me off my meds for two days....I am off the high BP meds and diuretic until I see him Thursday. My BP was 62/51....and he was about to send me to the hospital. I convinced him that would be worse....so I had to eat some salted popcorn...drink a soda....and put the feet up. Yeah. Love it. NOT

I am also ordered to the bed/sofa/recliner tomorrow also....but not til I get my hair done at 10:00! If I am going to keel over....I am not doing it with overly fluffy hair....and most of it turning gray!

If you think you are getting one grab the Absorbine Jr and rub some on and they don't get as bad. The doc thinks that I had a small stroke. I want to thank all of you again. Debbie, you are going to have to start listening to sister Betty, told you girl, you should have been at the Dr's day we got back...glad Paul has the children checking up on you...sit and enjoy..get a book to read or perhaps pen and paper, you love writting..might be the time to do so..

Bev...Strokes are nothing to sneeze at, you'll have to take it easy over the next few weeks..did he say what you could do to help the situation, i.e. meds, rest???Glad that Rick is there, know he has his own medical problems but still he's around to keep close eye on you...gardens can wait...

Barb, thinking Bernie will be home today or tomorrow so looking forward to him telling me all about the trip..know Roger and I were in New Hampshire years ago while travelling to Boston...you know, door is always open for visitors..come make yourself at home... now that I d-mailed you photo of my material you'll have to do same..anxious to see what yardage you will use...

Tubby...too cute...I have a witch I painted for the door, says 'witch is in-turn it around and it says 'witch is out' my boys say 'how appropriate' just in fun I'm sure...lol how are you feeling today?

Linda Kay, is today one of your therapy days or can you now do them from home? what have you entertained yourself with these past weeks...

Kids, aren't they the greatest..oh well, once they move from home all bad memories will leave and you'll think just how much you miss them...

So wanted to paint last night but I was just so tired, decided that I could put in a couple of hours this morning, set the alarm for 5am..woke up just before and said 'not' turned alarm off...came up with a plan though..took 1/2 hour to get all my gear together and brought it to the office...now I have a project to entertain me....

He is about 3 hours from me, but I am in San Antonio now. I just left him, and he is doing OK, pretty sore! And sedated with morphine! More test to come for his kidneys! I will post more later, when I find out!

Bev take it easy, I hope the dr runs more tests just to be positive. I hate it when drs "think" you have/had something, it's like saying, "there might be a tornado." Good Grief

LK that's horrible about your son. How old is he? Do you know what exactly happened? How fast was the truck going? I ask a lot of questions, don't I??

I've been busy today but that one problem that I've been working on, I finally figured it out, so woo hoo!!!

Tina who paints here Wedn. evenings just called to say she or Vera wouldn't be coming tonight..

Vera's was estranged from his wife, made a basement apartment in Vera's house...he committed suicide..not sure of details, Vera wasn't allowed in the house until investigation completed..Tina is going over to sit with her tonight...how very tragic...

It's all too overwhelming!

There are just too many things going on right now.....as my grandfather used to say "I don't know what the world is coming to..." Prayers going out for all of us and those we know...this has not been a good week.

Coming from a family where several members suffer from depression, and having been close to several people who have had suicides in the family over the past ten years I know how difficult this is for everyone. My heart and prayers are with the family and all of you who care for them during the difficult time ahead.

Susan - I have probably been VERY loud with the hints....DH just finally started listening... :) I need to count my blessings...... though....

Debbie - Yes - our DD3's must be alike. This is the Step Daughter...who....I'll never forget...during the Snow Ski vacation I planned for them January '08....in a conversation waiting for our Car Rental....she asked me how much I had saved in her college fund...then proceeded to tell me that (almost $5000) was "not enough"....(and the bio Mom pays NO child support).....(Patience, Mary, Patience!) So I can understand your frustration in the attic 110 degree scenario...might have been similar.....no appreciation...no gratitute...nothings ever good enough....

Debbie - PLEASE take good care of Debbie! I need your humor! Okay - I 'get' the hair thing...but get that blood pressure right! :)

Okay - I can't really vent when everything else is going so well.....

My house will be clean, no mess, no laundry, no harassing to do...but it will be very quiet...so I should appreciate the mess, the chaos, the noise....while I can....

Hi Everyone-

Sorry we've been so long in updating you all. Terry has been extremely weak. The B/P doesn't want to stay up and his Hemaglobin has been very low. He received two units of blood Monday. his Hgb. was 6.8 and I took him back today and it was only 7.6. So they decided to run a bunch of labs and give him two more units of blood. His B/P was up to 100/67 by the time they got done. That was good, so we go back in Friday AM to have some more labs done. We'll see if he needs any more blood. Hopefully this will help and last a little while.

I know that he would want me to tell you about the three buckets of tomatoes I picked today while he was getting the blood. I got a bucket full of green beans, enough for three 1 gal. bags. I also got a bucket full of cucumbers and a couple of eggplants. there will be more tomatoes to pick by the weekend. We had some of the Cherokee Purples tonight, they were delicious. The baby corn will be ready to harvest by this weekend. If anyone has any knowledge on canning it or freezing, please let us know. I have never done this before so am open to suggestions.

If it doesn't rain I need to pull the first bed of potatoes. They are dried up and ready to harvest. I probably need to harvest some acorn squash. The weeds have gotten ahead of me, but I'll work on them a little at a time. There is sweet corn ready also, I wish the days wouldn't go so fast or that I could get somemore energy from some place.

Terry wants to say Hi! to all and hopefully will back to telling some more jokes by the weekend. I must close now so I can get him to bed and me, as I have to work tomorrow. Good night and will be talking to you all again soon. Sweet dreams and happiness to all till then. Tubby & Shirley

Mary, I am trying very hard to get "in shape" and follow doctors orders. For some reason the body doesn't want to comply with the requests. I do however, have an appointment to see "Nurse Cratchett and Dr. BrickHead tomorrow morning at 10:30. Grrrrr.

So sorry for the losses here on the thread. There have been quite a few in the surrounding communities here also....and it is so sad.

Prayers to all....I must get to bed. Didn't realize it was so late. My oldest is quite sick with a bladder/UTI/kidney infection....and I have been helping her almost all day. Something tells me she will be back at the doctors first thing in the morning also.

I don't know, the way people take themselves from the earth, still shatter the heart, very sad and not anything we can do about it...always questions, always what if's..I suppose, Sometimes we just have to think and realize, Hopefully we were there for the person...People, I think, just don't realize how very much they are loved.

Dear friends, I'm so sad over all this tregedy and have all of your in my prayers. It does seem a bit ovewhelming right now for some reason. So many need our love and caring. Please check out the prayer thread for a glimpse of critter's new baby to lift your spirits up a bit. Sometimes a little distraction is all we need to help us feel a bit better. I am praying that all are doing better this day and that troubles will soon pass.

Oh my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has tragedy and health problems.

Shirley you are so wonderful keeping us up to date, thank you so much! My crops are doing alright, all I have are 2 watermelon plants, 2 tomato plants (Arkansas and Early Girl, the Early Girls are horrible this year,) cucumbers, and carrots. I've never grown watermelon and carrots but we picked two of the watermelon the other day, one is in the refrigerator waiting to be cut, the other one needs to be done something with or it's going to rot.

Dave's sick with a real bad cold, don't know where in the world he got it from but it's bad. I hope he's better today.

Debbie hope your dr gives you something that will help, your daughter also.

I got sleep, but went to bed to watch the 10:00 news and forgot to say good night to Dave last night, I feel bad about that but can't do anything about it now.

Ms Cheerful is fine LOL Here's a great example of how easy simple tasks get messed up. Yesterday I asked her if she knew what district a county was in off the top of her head, she opened the directory and gave me the answer, and was laughing because she opened the directory up to the exact page she needed. Well, wrong district! It lists the counties associated with that district right on the top of the page, right under what district you're looking at, good grief.

Dave was down with his back a couple weeks ago, the other day it was still bothering him, this cold has made him completely forget about his back. One way to get rid of the problem I guess.

I'm going to my moms, been talking about it for months, just going to do it then I don't go back for another year.

Debbie thank you so much for leading my mom to that hospital. She has been referred to 3 different doctors now, but whatever, whoever. The only real problem she's facing at the moment is the doctor she was just referred to only takes 3 different insurance companies, and hers is Not one of them.

Well I'm glad at that time of night you can still go 80 on 101.

Now that's the cutest thing I have ever seen. My boss walked by me going to the kitchen, which is just right there, I was at the electric hole punch cleaning up yesterday's mess, and he said something but didn't hear him and I didn't respond back. He walked back to the front door to go back across the hall to his office, about 6 feet from my desk. By this time I was back sitting at my desk, he stopped and looked at me, smiled and waved, I smiled and waved back. LOL
