I love Verbascum Sixteen candles!!!
Garden Photo's 09 ...... #35
wish the wind had cooperated on the bee on the Buddleah
Lucky I got it.
Oh wow, I'm soooo far behind already.
Great stuff by all is going on it seems!
Bill, I love the picture of the echies with the monarda behind it. I did have a similar scenario in my yard, but when I was redoing things, the monarda stems all cracked and fell over. So, I figure this year they'll look crappy, but next year I should have a picture similar to yours again.
Dyane... that dl DL 'Brer Rabbit's Baby' is great. There's always some appeal of those spider ones for me.
Karen.... i love them all.
Allison... As far as messes in yards go, I think that yours is one of the prettier that i've seen. lol
Victor.... somehow you managed to make Northern Sea Oats look pretty. Go Figure!
Pixie.. it's amazing how they get us with the photos of these flowers... I had no idea it would be that tiny either...
Tiger woods is pretty Dyane...
thanks RC!!!
nice bonus Jen!!
If you like it, Jen, then you are welcome. If not. OOPS, sorry. :)
Jo Anne, I like your budleia and verbascum. I love any kind of verbascum. I need a yellow budleia. I have a purple one, and since I had someone come and dig out the 12' Kousa dogwood that was next to it, it now has room to spread and get fuller. I still have to put back the plants that I took out of there. Don't know where I would put another budleia. They do take up a lot of space, even though I cut mine back to about 12" every year. They grow fast!
Dyane, Siloam Tiny Mite looks a lot like Siloam June Bug. Cute! I love that spider DL 'Brer Rabbit's Baby'. One to add to my wish list.

TET SILOAM VIRGINIA HENSON
Tet denotes the fact that it's a tetraploid, having double the amount of chromosomes as a diploid (which has 22). SILOAM VIRGINIA HENSON was originally a diploid (dip), and someone decided to convert it to a tetraploid, so they could use it's genetics in tet breeding. I don't know exactly how it's done, but I know it's done using colchicum, which is derived from the fall blooming crocus or colchicum (which is not a crocus at all, only looks like one).
nutsfordaylily, what does your wishlist look like when you already have 900 named cultivars growing in your garden??? You really are nuts for daylily. If I had more space I could easily collect at that rate as well. I love that deep dark color of Black Knight.
Dyane
Well, Dyane, I'm slowly paring down my collection, getting rid of ones that are not faves and don't really fit into my hybridizing plans. I gave away a number of seedlings to DG members at the RU, then the next day gave away more to my friend's Karen and Rene. I may sell some of the named cultivars on the LA or give more away to friends. Eventually I want to add more spiders, unusual forms, stippled ones and veined ones.

SHOLA
I like that one, and the name too.
That last one is a small flower. Has nice diamond dusting.
