You know, to be honest, I think tomatoes are one of the easiest plants to grow. Plant the right tomatoe, which in my case, has to be a blight resistent variety, make sure they're planted in a good medium and keep water if dry. Very few varmints attack them and nothing, I mean nothing is better than fresh vine ripe tomatoes.

Maybe we should call you Katty instead of Kassy. Ooops! Sorry about that! Just dawned on me what I said. Miss Kassy forgive me.

Tigrelily Russian sage is on my list to plant...it's so pretty!
When I do veggies I'll start with tomatoes...you're right Jim, the ones in the stores are blech!
Kassy cute cat! And iluvcats I have been looking for you on the slug thread! Did you get tired of slugs? :)
Meant to get the subscription out yesterday...never got a chance....
Icanfindroom...do tomatoes need heat as well as sun? Come to think of it I never saw giant tomatoes when I was there....when we went to the fair in Palmer I remember the giant heads of lettuce, and the giant squash sent my sister & me into fits of giggles....

I'm with you Jim tomatoes are very easy, I have them self seed and grow on to produce great tomatoes all I
do is to give them support and pinch out side shoots! Don't think they could do that in zone 5b though.
Dry holy leaves keep cats and dogs off flower borders, just need to take care when weeding!

Thanks Lynnie & ICFR. She only gets away with eating the basil since she's so cute. I don't let her in that area anymore, so my basil should come back!
