I left the scales as there are about 8 bulbletts with stems in the area. 3 even had 1 blossom at the end this year.
I'm late to the party here, but I just have to say... FarmGirl, your photos took my breath away! What is the gardening environment in North Dakota? How long do you get to enjoy such beauty before the weather changes? I'm just dazzled by the colors and variety! Evey =)
