Synda, hope you're getting REGULAR sleep :D
I am heading for bed. Another early morning for us tomorrow.
Good night dear ladies.
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞150
Jaye, tell Kell I loved the book and have to go to the library and find the next in the series. It had been cold and rainy here so I have been going to bed with a book to keep warm.
Please take care of yourself and tell Kell he has to do the same. I know the strain you are both under and that is just the time a cold or something creaps in and takes hold. Worry about you both!
Morning everyone!
Cindy, so sorry to hear that news. I will add her to our prayers as well!
Boy, this has been the year for illness all over the place!
I won't be online much, as I have my two grandsone here, and this evening, my DIl and Grandaughter, and good friend are coming in for the week-end. Then my son and his wife will be her sometime Saturday to pick up the boys. Will have a full house for sure!
Hope you all have a wonderfull 4th of July week-end.
LK
Quiet Morning, Prayers to all....
Sage is having her breakfast......dog, cat and I have done the back yard tour and getting ready to hopefully get the front bed finished.
Hope you all have a good day and a good weekend.
So sorry I didn't get coffee made :(
Was running late as usual. And when we got back, "carpe diem"! It was cool enough to do some yard work..until the sun comes blaring down on me! Just to water what I have takes at least 2 hours. Got to push Kel to get a sprinkling system in place!
Enjoy your company LK. I am sure your dad would love to be with y'all for the weekend.
Janice, Kel says it's his pleasure. And thank you so much for caring.
I'd love to loan you a book that I think you'd enjoy. Sistah Judy had started me on the "People" series, and I'm hooked! It's not sci-fi, but sprinkled with Native Indian archaelogical titbits, mysticism and definitely you'll get suspense. Let me know if you're interested.
Hi Sage...how's the rock-climbing?
How was fried rice last night Trisha? Any leftovers? Sometimes I just cook a pot of rice, and use that the following morning for fried rice.
You know us Chinese have that for breakfast.
I'm having company myself too... Dallas is trying to help me post!!!
Cya later.. have a good day! Wear a hat if you're going outside
Sorry Jaye, Bill ate the leftovers.....guess I will have to make more:)
Sage is here helping me finish the front bed....I am sure she will want to help put down the river rock border.......as long as they don't all try to go home with her...lol.
Off to the yard, talk to you all later.
What a gorgeous picture!
Jaye do you have Dim Sum with the rice?
I won't be on much this weekend after work today. Dave's off the rest of the weekend, as I am too, and we have his Uncle Roy and Brother Donnie here from CA. Tomorrow night Uncle Grady and Aunt Linda from Fort Worth, TX are bbqing at the campsite on the lake, then Saturday is the big reunion. Sunday I'm doing nothing and back to work on Monday.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
No, Crissy. Most of the time, the rice has already added meat. I do have a side dish of pickles.
You too -----TRY---enjoy your company Crissy. Make the best of it! Just bring you a can of air freshener in case the air gets too stale ;)
crissyr, if I don't see you online again today--have a wonderful weekend, enjoy and eat some bar b que for me.
Cookie... I almost forgot to tell you.
Mike hid one of the bags of caramels you made, and took them home with him. His mom and dad report that they are "DELICIOUS"... and to tell you thank you !!!
I wondered what happened to that other bag of candy... I thought Don had eaten it... shame on Mike for holding out... LOL
BJ that is just to funny. Sneaky little guy but then aren't you glad he did hide them and took them home. I am sure Cookie will be flattered. BTW, where is she? Still pea picking?
I need to engage brain when typing.

Hello Ladies,
Just got home from work and boy what a day.... Glad it is over..... I hope everyone here has a wonderful weekend and please all keep safe.....
Hugs to All,
Susan
I'm going to eat enough bbq for everyone!! Yup, the air is going to get very stale today, very very stale, it already is and I'm still at work.
Thank you Marion! Have a great weekend and holiday everyone!!
Oh Trisha!! Yay!!!!!!
How cool!! Congrats, looks very nice! It's going to look really good when plants grow in.
Hehehe!!! Can't believe that Mike has such a willpower not to touch those delicious caramels! Smart guy to hide the bag!
BJ, I agreee.. they were gooooood!! Kel had to give me extra shots.
Wonder what Cookie did with all those peas?
Lovely Trisha! Good job! Now Cedric and Shoney don't have far to go for their own fishing spot!
Maid M, with Kim gone, hope tonight won't be a microwave dinner for you. If it is, come along with us, we're dining at the Texas Roadhouse.
Texas style bbq, early 4th July dinner----------it's all Crissy's fault!
BJ can you find the peacock feathers in that pic above? LOL
Oh your pond is beautiful..... I would love one but to many animals to pick the fish out ...LOL OH what a beautiful baby.... Your not hard to look at either Cordeledawg... How old is Riley? Babies are just so cute...
Hugs,
Susan
Hello Madam Butterfly,
AW what a beautfil pix of you and Riley. I couldn't see any peacock feathers maybe BJ has better eyes, lol. Not long untill the wedding. Is it inside or out? Garden weddings are so pretty.
Hey ladies,
Read this: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1010040/
Deborah what a great picture of you and Riley. The others are really nice also but I love the one of the 2 of you. BTW, you are going to take pictures of your Mom, you and your son and Riley aren't you? After all 4 generations!!!! You had better do it girl.
Trisha the pond is really nice, Want to come do one for me now? LOL Everything is going to be so pretty , keep us updated with pictures.
No microwave dinner tonight Jaye. I am having rotisserie chicken and steamed veggies. Gonna have my absolute favorite on the 4th--hot dogs and cold slaw!! Yeap that is the tops in my picnic book.
Emm sounds good Marion. We are having spare ribs and sourkruat with fresh pineapple baked in the oven. My mouth is watering just talking about it.
I have been looking at men on Perfectmatch.com, lol. There is a guy who lives about 10 miles from me. He's not bad looking either. But man I don't want to pay $60 to join this club. But then I'm still not sure if I'm ready for another realationship, maybe just a pal to do things with. This guy likes the snow and I love the snow. I think I'll just keep lurking, lol.
Yep... I think I see them, Deborah... just to the left and behind your DIL?
Awwww.... Riley is so adorable cuddled in g'mas arms...
Oh, how beautiful, Trisha... I just know you're going to sit in a lawn chair next to that pond and enjoy it for hours ....
I think it's just my sister and I for the 4th... if so, I think I'm just going to take her to Tiki Hut for dinner... if son and family decide to come... I'm going to smoke something in Don's smoker.
Don is going be off on Sunday, so we'll probably cook something big that day... so, I'm not really worried about cooking a big dinner on the 4th.
Tonight for dinner we had grilled zucchini (from my garden), tomato salad (from my garden), fried okra (from my garden), and steak (on sale at the gro store)... I'm so full, I'm waddling.
Deborah, both your DILs are lovely. They truly are Southern Belles, just like you. And Riley's the next generation! Yep, I noticed the feathers, since BJ pointed them out. Too bad we're not there to help finish the 'spread'!
Marion, I'm glad you didn't come along. Rotisserie chicken would be much healthier than red meat!! I had steak while he had bbq. I got this craving for a good medium rare steak with baked potatoes.. and I'm paying for that rich food now!
Hello Susan. Will you be cooking for the 4th? Pretty sure your sons would love to grill for you.
Cindy, Cindy... Cindy.. take your time. Enjoy your freedom now, when the Lord thinks the time is right, He'll send one over and I bet you won't have to pay $60!
Your dinner's more healthy BJ! The only tomatoes I could harvest are the yellow pear shaped ones. Hardly any acid. Yummy too, but not as sweet as the cherry tomatoes. I love fresh picked okras, steamed!!
If Gwen and Steve decide to join y'all.. tell them hi for us please.
Got some Japanese eggplants ready to be picked. Think I'll grill them Sunday. Kel says he'd be grilling porkchops that day. That will be our 4th of July cookout unless some of the Church folks want to go to Ryan's after service!
Hmm.. still got a whole slab of brisket.. maybe I'll throw that in the oven tomorrow night.
Oh BJ, you have my mouth watering!! I love zucchini and Brussel sprouts done on the grill--yummy!
Oh goodness Jaye now you come on with Japanese eggplant. I love those saute with onions and tomatoes over angel hair pasta!! That and a salad and I am set to go.
Grilled Brussel sprouts?? Never had that, Maid M. Will have to try that. Yep, I agree, grilled zucchinis and even squash--- yummy. Grilled eggplants, brushed with olive oil are good too.
I am Jaye, I was just looking. Besides I have way too many things to do around Mom's plus being there for daughter and SIL.
Hehehe Maid M!! Apparently we have the same likings when it comes to veges!
Yep, slice those eggplants and include them in your pasta Primavera.. voila..
There's an ancient Chinese secret to make those eggplants sweeter.
After slicing, soak them in salted water for a few minutes. The water will change color, and that means the bitterness is drawn out. Drain the eggplant, and pat the slices dry before using them.
wow I'm hungry now.
Lolol Deborah.. we should post recipes more often, just to draw you out!!!
Me and Kel were discussing Brunswick Stew. Do you have a good recipe? The ones over here are terrible!
Jaye... my mom must have known your mom, or someone else... cause she always soaked her egg plant in salt brine, chilled in the fridge all day before cooking it. Always was the best I'd ever eaten...
I have egg plant blooms galore... but so far, no egg plants yet. Hopefully soon. I also have big HUGE Brussel sprout plants... but so far... no stalks for the sprouts. Still waiting. I never heard of grilling them either... but sounds like something I'd like.
Nighty Night, sistahs... it's been a vewy long day.
