When are you taking your vacationLiz? I'm still trying to find out from Paul if I can book 2 consecutive weeks, if so I'll offer to take mom to Florida so she can get things set up for when she goes back to spend part of the winter...think October is always nice to go down....if he'd rather we take 1 week at a time I'll take 1st. week in August.

Hey Betty, I am here. Todd is doing better, but I guess when he passed out last week, he twisted his right knee, and tore his miniscus. Now it looks like we both need knee surgery, as I twisted my left knee about a month ago, and tore the miniscus in my left knee! When it rains it pours!
Other than that, we are doing good.

just last week i dissapeared for 5 minutes i was straightning up a shelf she went into full blown panic mode yelling what are you doing i said minding my own bussiness what are you doing being nosey? lol she is a good person she just drives me crazy!

LOL I'm horrible at making arrangements and can't bear to cut the flowers, so I just leave them :) The bee balm is a small plant and has one bloom, so that will be staying on the plant. I never thought about the idea of a box, I'm always out there sweating and deadheading everything. I'm going to start doing that, if I can get Dave to leave the box alone.

I lived alone most of the time from the time I was about 23 til I moved Dave in when I was 31. I used to cook everything, but since Dave's the cook I quit cooking when he moved in, and like anything else if you don't use it you lose it, after 6 years of him cooking I've lost it. Now that he's on swing shift I can start cooking again :) Trying to see the glass half full here lol!

He passed out because he had lost a lot of blood. They gave him 7 pints of blood while in the hospital. And he was still a little on the low end, when they sent him home. A persons hemoglobin level should be between 10 - 12, and his was 5.2 when I got him to the emergency room, and when they let him go, it was 9.7. We were told it will replenish itself sometimes, but he is still pretty tired. Low on iron, so they have him on iron pills too! We whave a folow up this afternoon, and they will test him again. We will know more later on.

Got all my running round done again, playing taxi service for Jacob. soon as I start something it's time to pick him up or5 drop him off!
House is back n order and yaya laundry done again...now to clean up the deck before it gets too hot! Then think, I am going to set up pool at least by the weekend, now you know it's hot if I am setting up the pool. Steve said he is not going to take care of it, duhh, got to be home to take care of it!

Doesn't it feel wonderful to get all the laundry/housecleaning done before the weekend so you can enjoy..sorry to hear your deer is back Judy, with having visited you and have seen your area I can't believe with all the growth i.e. houses etc. that you'd have deer running around...why they stay in a congested area vs. trying to find a forest is beyond me...

Las Vegas from Buffalo...lordy what we pay on flight taxes/charges what I would pay flying out of Buffalo, then I keyed in California and not much more than Las Vegas flight..of course that just includes flight..going to play this afternoon and see if one was to rent a car just how much I could fit, who I could have tea with..lol..if I flew out in August...silly me, bored to death and trying to figure my life out..lol..

Don't really want to stay home on vacation, what to do what to do..lordy last year I was at Judy's, enjoying myself with Liz and she...had a wonderful vacation..can't believe a year has gone by...

45 minutes and I'm off...Suzanne talked me into going to Mucho Burrito's, not the kind of food I normally enjoy but they have a salad bowl to die for..lettuce,rice,chicken, cooked veggies,cheese,tomato's etc. it was extremely delicious...

I dropped her off to pick up her vehicle which was being serviced then took the back road..wouldn't you know, I came across a humungous nursery..almost like Garden Gallery that I so love visiting but the plants/shrubs are a lot more reasonable...

Only had a few seconds so ran in to look, at the door were ninebarks, $12.98 but quite a size so one is in the car...in front of their nursery standing about 5 or 6' was a perrenial (at least the sales clerk said it was) with about 40 blooms in white looking much like lilacs...had to run but now I think I just might take a run not tonight but tomorrow as I get off at 3..couldn't understand what the name was when she said it, only thing I heard her say was that it is 'non maintenance' that's enough to get me interested...

Did notice in the corner some pretty benches...ohhhh don't you just hate it when everywhere around you is ideas, objects that say 'make me/make me'...

I live, let's see when I was in CA I was A LOT closer to both (Vegas was just a 10 hour drive) but I have to look at a map lol, Grand Canyon is 1,506 miles (about 26 hours away without stopping,) and Las Vegas is 1,480 miles, but only takes about 22 hours without stopping because it's on the Interstate. Yes, I would return from the same airport I left from, which would be Little Rock National, its too expensive not to. Now how in the world am I going to bring this up to Dave.... LOL!! When are you thinking about going??

Know I keep joking about my secret garden - 2 little hidden rooms within .. all the shrubs / plants are growing so quickly this past week I think I had to start cutting it back..not that I use this front entrance, have 2 side entrances..sure wish the flowers around it would bloom..

Mom had me move all the displaced dirt from the pond yesterday and I'm quite sore today. Her yard is beginning to look quite nice though.

Well we got home a short while ago. Great news!! As of this moment, Norm is cancer free as far as we can tell. All of his tests have been good. The only recurring problem is the diabetes. It seems to have a mind of its own right now but we are attacking that as we did the cancer.
We are going on an observation plan for now. He will be monitored monthly with periodic PET scans. There is an experimental medicine out that was developed for bone marrow cancer that is showing promise for melanoma patients too. We discussed this a little bit. Whether he goes for it or not may depend on the insurance. It is expensive and his may not cover it. We will face that when the time comes.
But for now, WE CELEBRATE!!!!
Thank you so much everyone for your ongoing concerns and prayers for Norm. He is one heck of a "Good Guy" who really does derserve them. Hugs to all, Barbype it again...

Barb, what wonderful news to come home too! I have a big smile, but probably not as big as yours.

I have been on the run since 8:00 this morning, and I just got home. I am beat, literally. Tomorrow is going to be some of the same.

Graduation rehersal in the morning for the kids (Shane is in Grad. Band) and Shannon the Graduate. Stuff to get done in the afternoon....and actual Graduation at 7:00.

Spent today at my docs to keep me somewhat sane, then to find Shannon some summer short...and shoes...which were elusive. Shane a new shirt and tie...as he has grown yet again.....then to the college to set up classes and more paperwork! Finally, after starting in Rochester this morning.....we ended up in Buffalo tonight and finally found a pair of white size 10 shoes...that the Princess can walk in without breaking her ankle...homefully.

I can't tell you all how very grateful Norm and I are for all your concern and prayers. They have truly been a blessing to us. Now we hope we can move ahead for a while. Still no news on the job front but that too will change sometime. We both are so totally wiped out after this latest journey but a little rest will take care of that. I hope to be back again more often with much cheerier things to talk about. Like how Sean and I do with our planting adventure. I know it's a bit late in the season, but with the weather we have had here I don't think a season has begun yet!!! We will do a few things this year to wet his feet and then next year we'll start sooner. Thank you so much Betty for my journal. It is one great motivator!!! Have a wonderful day everyone.
