So, we went to see the baby Conures! OMG they are just the cutest tiny things, A couple more weeks and one will be ours...lol, if they were free would have taken them all, but they aren't sooo only one comes home. Have a feeling one of the kids have it...We were showing Alissa and our guys so I know it's somewhere...Anywhoo, they are Green backed, bright yellow/orange bellies, with Red tails and blue flight wingsand greyish heads...So pretty! We decided on the eldist of the three. It was the one who took to all three of us immediatley, so the challange of a name was begun right away, the girls liked Petrie, mulled it around but Jacob won witht the best name...Baby Conure will be named Skittles!

Just got back from lunch, much too hot to eat outside so brought it back in...

I usually set aside $20. for my day for eats...so today I made a pact for myself..usually lunch at the restaurant is almost $15.00 with tip, now if on the days I eat at the little restaurant truck just down the road, have great tasting food, that would leave me $$ for more plants/shrubs...so I'm going home with 2 wrigeilia's (?) reg. $11.98 on sale today for $3.99..this means when I go along with my plan that most times because of the heat I'll be eating in the restaurant..

Tried NEWFIE fries...french fries with gravy and dressing..omg terrific...

Seed, I am so jealous of you and the baby conures....oh I love those birds. I actually am somewhat of a bird fanatic....I just love them. BUT, when we started being a drop off place for cats....I had to make some choices. I had at one time 13 cockatiels....but adopted all but 3 out. I used to do the handfeeding and hand raising after they hit 2 to 3 weeks of age....and it is very hard work. You are doing the right thing letting them do the weaning for you.

Well, here comes a troop of kids....gotta go and see what trouble is brewing with their evil minds.

Betty, do you know how unhealthy those fries are? I mean really...heartattack on a plate. BUT..yes, they are SOOOO good. Never heard of them as Newfie fries though. They serve them like that here with either Hot Turkey or Hot Roast Beef open faced sandwiches....and gravy on the top of all.

That's one of those items you eat once a year, like on your birthday or something. I love dressing, and I love gravy, I'm sure I would like them. I want turkey!

I was planning on doing a roast turkey this weekend...then the heat hit. Don't know if I want to do an "all day oven" type issue. I could pull the roaster out of the attic and set that up. Hmmmm. Turkey does sound good....with dressing....hmmmmmm.

There is this new thing called "sugaring" that they were doing in the mall to women.....looks almost like a dental floss type material that they roll back and forth across the face. Still not sure I would want that either.

Betty make sure you eat a dinner. At least a nice salad...perhaps with turkey or such strips on it. Not good for the body to go without a meal. You will be getting your dizziness back again.

My BIL did the deep fried turkey. Was very very good. Not sure about the BBQ...its a possiblity. Didn't even think of that. I wonder if you can still stuff it and do that? I just love the stuffing insdie with the natural juices.

Yes you can Debbie, might be an option, doing it outside..Roger often used the deep fryer in wintertime b.b.q.'s when we had a bunch coming over..mega oil though..lol

Betty, I seriously think it is the heat here also. Dh just got home so that blew my nap....but he is going out to get his hair cut shortly so will try and sneak a short one in.

Hopefully I can do this without the dogs help....why does she have to lay on top of me on the hottest days.....and she is only 110 lbs!

It's a scorcher out there...at lunch bought 2 shrubs and never thought anymore about them..when I left work, wow, they sure were starting to droop..so I've the hose on, giving them a good watering..

Never even thought, that gigantic hanging plant was suppose to be hung partial sun and shade..well up to yesterday it was..omg it's all shrivelled up as well... have some figuring to do.. another 45 minutes and the girls arrive..best I get a move on...came downstairs to check the temps, cool, guess because of the brick foundation..not so sure I want to go upstairs..Greg had mentioned perhaps coming tonight and putting in air conditioner, don't see him, perhaps later tonight when it cools down..if not, guess it will have to be another day..

Should go see that's blooming..

Got home at 5:30pm, got into work clothing, managed to rid myself of all the branches only thing left by the time the girls got here was the main trunks, so between us all we set them to the back of the yard, I'll find someone who wants them for burning..

Was so hot and muggy..see that the girls left me a piece of Pat and June's birthday cake..looks like carrot cake so I'm going to make me a coffee, sit and enjoy..

AnnMarie, here's a garden photo taken tonight just for you...know you are itching to get outside and garden but for now, you'll just have to sit tight and enjoy the flowers we are sending...old age setting in..is it this weekend you are moving your daughter...hope you aren't over doing..

lol betty, oh all the talk on waxing couple of years ago, i got the machine to melt the wax and all the accessories.
told dh can you do my legs, well let me tell you he played the nice and gentle applying the wax but when it came time to rip, oh no he was having to much fun and just grinning away, took that away from him real quick!
yes sent trisha more lol it was the root from those cement leaves i was making got over grown and with mr throw it all in the dumpster, i had to get in there before he did lol.
actually he is being awfuly quiet, scares me! this must mean there is a master plan in the works, i better keep a eye on him lol

It will be a scorcher out there today, must tell you though a scorcher for us isn't anywhere near what you are having...can't even imagine...

Looking across the street and they are still working on the main road, my car must have 1/2" of dust on it..don't know how many times I've washed the outside..after a day in the parking lot it's back covered with yuk...make matters worse, from time to time they have the watering truck come and spray water then were driving in slick mud....frustrating...

Now for the better part of my day..it's Thursday, it's payday, dropping in to Bernie's tonight for a gab session, hoping to get to pick up one of my other trees tonight..

This morning I met Suzanne in Barrie for breakfast, then I did a run to the bank and one to Canadian Tire...bought an air pump..keep losing air in my wheelbarrel tire, must get it fixed and not make shift adding air...

Paul was suppose to be in today but plans change when you are the boss and it's in the 80's..lol

Liz, it's one of those gas grills bought at Lowes or HD, heat it up to 400, put thick T-bone on one side for 8 minutes, flip it and leave it for 7 minutes. It will be med-rare. My trick was learning to keep the temp at 400. I'm glad you're going to the cardiologist, you never know. Mine was always acid reflux, till I found out that my acid reflux problem was because my appendix was going kapoot. It wasn't hot spices and food that set mine off, but carbon in drinks and other acidic foods, such as oranges and tomatoes, never hot foods and spices.

Betty those are gorgeous blooms! I have a bee balm that 's blooming and i need to take pictures of it. I left it for the girl who's teaching me this crap, it looks like she had two steps backwards, but I'm not sure.
