I might have to loan your Jim my chain if you get vindictive.
i have slugs
My bark is usually worse than my bite...as long as I am barking though there is little to worry about....it is when I don't give more than a warning bark you have to watch out for....DHJim swears there is wolfblood in my ancestry....grin
Moon you steel magnolia I'm sure he got his, one way or another lol
Jim what's a nice pastor like you doing with a chain like that?
out of coffee here is a crisis!
Well sir, you know, Jim, my username is after all, moonhowl. That is what we she-wulfs do now and again.....we HOWL. Sort gets everybody in range perked up and listening....grin
Thank you kindly, Lynnie. Coffee as a beverage here in the South is not as prevalent as in other parts of the country. A pot for breakfast and that's it for the day. About 10AM, southerners have the first glass of sweettea, one word. Thank goodness I was raised by a Northern mother.....coffee's ready.....get the milk kids.
I'm more of a werewolf until I get my coffee...growls, grunts, hair sticking up every which way, then all is good once i get a coupl'a cups a' joe...I can speak in full sentences & my hair lays flat *grin* My husband usually has the pot set up on automatic , he's a pretty smart guy.
I"m getting called on for ping pong (we just had a big thunderstorm so are back inside).
Think I will go put the pot on for a cup now. It is raining again....lots of thunder and lightning here too. We are empathysing with you Dave.....
Have fun with ping-pong
Moon, up here in the red neck part of Louisiana the coffee pot stays on all day.
About the chain, my dad gave it to me when I got married. Said when he and momma married he always whipped her with a trace chain and after awhile he just had to rattle the chain. Me I just point to it.
One rattle is all it would take Jim.....then somebody is gonna need a new chain. But, I'd still put the pot on for coffee afterwards. Grin
OMG! I am soooo out of the loop! ^-^ We just got our internet going five minutes ago ! Been down since thursday so I apologize for the radio silence :-)... (webdrawal is nasty! I still have the shakes:-)
I just got done chasin down one of them boogers with the hose (set on JET, of course)...

So where's everybody?!? I tried reading ALL posts, man! That's a whollotta reading!
Sorry bout your son jjgramma, hope he feels better...
We (meaning I) almost got all of em peaches off the tree cept for a couple o bunches, too high to reach... Fruit flies are drivin me bonkers tho...
Jim will be so happy, Chezca...he's been quite lonely without a visit from the grand daughter...grin. Went 12 days without it last year...thought I was gonna have to sedate DHJim and GSJordan....no internet, no cable,no tv,no a/c....electronic withdrawal can be the dickens....
DHJim calls them added protein for the peaches....makes them healthier....told him I'd be happy to hold 'em to the side for him....their little wings get caught in your teeth ya know.....grin

:-) will be postin with a vengeance tomorrow :-) I gotta logout so they can "finish" installing the "internet" ^_^
I just snuck in just to say hi!
Awww aaaaakkkk, Moon! ^_^
I put this question on the vegetable garden site but I don't have a response yet. Since a lot of you grow tomatoes, Jim and his maters also, I thought I would ask you.
Do you know what is wrong with my tomato leaves? They have yellow spots. Look in the middle of photo. I sprayed with 3-in-1 about 4-5 days ago and I think there are more of them now. I sprayed with Sevin today. Do you know what those spots are? I have looked on the Internet and saw photos of a lot of gross tomato diseases and I didn't see what my tomato leaves have. I am not a member so I can't look on the tomato site. Can you help me?
Hey Chezca, been missing you. Was afraid the boogers got you.
Venice, I'm not sure. don't think I've seen any turn yellow like that. Seen black spots caused from water. Your plants appear to be healthy. I'd probably just take my sissors and snip off the limb if it didn't have any fruit on it or just cut off the bad leaves.
Ok I will do some snipping tomorrow. Thanks!
I hope you tomatoes do ok. There are so many things that can cause leaf spots. I'm by far not an expert. Most of the time the leaf spot is caused by something that doesn't hurt your tomatoe crop.
So glad to read that your son is going to be OK jjsgramma and have fun with your grandson;-) Keep us up to date on all when you have time.
Moon and Lynnie, I have to have my coffee too or I am a bear. I drink too much of that stuff ...guess that's what keep's me energized though;-) People at work use to say that I need one of those tube's injected in one of my arm's to keep it flowing in my vein's continually! Guess they got tired of seeing me carrying around my coffee mug all day;-)
Chezca , good to hear from you too;-) I have been missing my daily laugh's.
Hope all went well with you today Jim at Physical Therapy? One of my good friend's is a Physical Therapist and when I have an ache or a pain.....I DO not mention it to her;-) Just joking, she is good at what she does.
Venice, I would agree with Jim as well, over all your plant look's mighty healthy and if those couple of leave's are bothering you..cut them off.
Rachel
We be the red-neck tag team Rachael. No way Venice could go wrong with us agreeing.
Yeah, Rachel. I'm into mainlining coffee too. I drink more coffee in the summer than I do winter though. Winter-time I split between coffee and Earl Grey and Constant Comment Teas.
Venice, that could be a tiny bit of bug damage, water, fertilizer, or sun damage. I wholly agree....two or three leaves, cut them off and then check the plant in a couple of days to see if there is any additional damage.
Venice if that tomato doesn't need pepto bismol i don't know what does...
Chezka, for heaven's sake the next time you're away could you please pop into a cyber cafe & let grampa know where you are? he was beside himself.
Hello to everybody else! Glad to see everyone here! :)
Now I'm getting kicked, off, plus I now have company...hopefully be back in the AM!
Pretty Cannas, Rachel, and I love the big old happy sunflowers.
Lynnie, you think it could be acid reflux? Although, tomatoes do get calcium deficiency....is there any calcium left in Pepto Bismol? Who knows, might be good for what ails tomatoes too...grin
Nite, Lynnie...sweet sleep.

morning all! you're going to give me zone envy with those pictures.
jim you are too funny! does jo know what you're up to on here?
moon venice &I were joking on another thread, her verbascum thread. It was pretty funny, check it out. I think it's on beginner gardening.
moon those kids start school early! Mine don't start till sept which is good because we've been having way too much fun this summmer!
hang on I need another cup of coffee...
Rachel I pruned those roses right before leaving it killed me to cut all those flowers off, but I should have lots more when I get back. I also tied up some of the canes on the climber..hopefully I did it right.
Chezka I'm reading Kite Runner right now, did you read that one? The main character is not likable, I need to like my main character. Other than that it's a good read, but I was expecting something spectacular from all the reviews. One of the best books I ever read is All Souls.
Everybody is waking up, more later!
Good Morning, Lynnie. Got the boy off to school. Yeah, we start early here. Have to allow for hurricane days. The kids get out of school around May21 though which is earlier than most places also (more coffee, grin)
Right now I am reading Susan Wettig Albert's China Bayles series.....garden/plant based mysteries, Witches Bane, Thyme for Murder, etc...
Lynnie I have had zone envy for a long time....Grin
My kids get out LATE end of June...summer is short! This is the first year they start before Labor Day...gotta make up the snow days!
JJ how's everything going over there with farmer Dill & how's your son's ear? I imagine you're tired chasing a 3 yr old all day! Your dog looks like the patient sort lol
Hey, Venice, my cherry tomatoes have leaves that yellow also. Heat, humidity and rainfall have a lot to do with it with the cherry tomatoes. I have two in pots and three in the ground. As long as the stems are strong and firm and producing, don't worry too much. We are getting into the time of year here that production slows drastically or even stops. I trim mine back abit, stop fertilizing and let them rest for a few weeks. They come back quite happy in late September and keep producing til the night temps get into the low sixties....which considering how hot it has been may not be til November...grin. The picture is of one of the gingers (hedychium 'Elizabeth') She is just so prissy....
Oh, the Max in the picture is Rachel's big boy sunflower. and, I love the impatiens peeking from under the tomatoes....
Venice that's not my max, although they're on my list...
Sorry I got Lynnie and Rachel mixed! LOL RACHEL I do like your big Max! Do they attract birds?
Did you see the big photo of my cherries? NOT
I had one tomato plant, my only one, that was really damaged by hail. So I bought a $1.39 6-pack of cherry tomatoes, I thought. Two turned out to be regular tomatoes and not cherries! I was really surprised when they kept growing!

Ya just gotta love it. Just goes to show even growers have their days.....grin We call that the BONUS ROUND........
mornin you guys^_^!
Lynnie, I really didn't like Kite Runner (movie or book). It just didn't pique my interest. I thought the characters were dull and all I could think of was "too much sand" (go figure!). So I never watched or read it (movie, i saw the previews. book, I saw the cover ^_^)
You guys should watch UNTRACEABLE. We watched it last night and it was ah-mazing. I would've loved QUARANTINE (semi-horror flick) cept for the lead actress (Dexter's sister), her screaming drove me nuts! I finally threw a shoe at the tv. And a paper cup. That should teach her..!
PUSH is another good movie (a little sy-fy action-y) with little miz Dakota Fanning (awww she's all growed up^_^)...
I can't find a place that would rent out SLUGS the Movie tho... But will keep on searchin because we're planning a "bad movies night".... ^_^
Venice, jjsgramma calls her grandson farmer dill. We have a Farmerdill that posts a good bit on vegetable threads and he is really sharp. In fact I just read a post of his that agreed with what I had posted. Got the big head now cause I got something right. Can't afford for my head to get any bigger, don't have enough hair to cover what I got.
Morning all.
Well well what has been going on here then?
i have been away poorly and come back to find mayhem.
jim still on his food fad and what a very hansome young man you are jim. i have been reading as you all post but sadly unable to type myself and join in the fun.
can someone please remind me again what this topic is about??? lolx
