Waving to you sweetie!! Now my world feel right--Kathy is posting pictures of her beautiful plants for me to see!! TYL.
jordankittyjo,,,,what kind of plant is that???? my friend dug some up,,and she has no idea what they are and I don't either. We are both interested in what it is called.
And once again Kathy beats me when it comes to Gloriosa Lilies!!
Didn't get no dmails Sis.
I know you'll do the best for the kitty for Ross' sake, Maid M.
See me later ladies. Too hot to do anything outside, not into afternoon naps no more.. so I think I might tackle some fabrics that need to be cut.
it is gloriosa lilly, my favorite.
sis, i didn't mean you, i was refering to maid m.
Kathy I had been to the doc again when I finally got a chance to read it. The shot made me sleepy and didn't get back to that.
sis, i got one gloriosa out of ten. do you think my ginger will bloom this year? it didn't last year
beautiful glorisa lillies
Morning Ladies,
Well to some it is afternoon to some of you. Started raining during the night so relaxing I slept in until 8:30!!!! I have not done that in a long time!!! I'm going to gain back the 20 pounds I lost. My cousin's husband does all the cooking. Last night we had BBQ spare ribs, baked taters, grilled mushrooms, sliced maters. Tonight we are having stuffed bell peppers. I need to take one of the 5 dogs, yes 5 for a walk. Actually with my mom's pom there are 6 dogs and all of them in the house!! 2 chocolate labs, 1 blue healer pup 9 months and she is a hyper one too, a weiner dog, and this other dog that is the that hunt squirrles, he is cute. And all of these dogs are going camping too. Man that 5th wheel is going to be crowded,lol.. Lol, no not too many ritas, Jaye
LK, man I'm so sorry to hear all the problems Todd is having.
Hugs and Prayers for eveyone
Hi Kathy, good to see you posting again. Take care.
BJ, hope you are feeling better also. Maybe your little trip will help.
Well, I must get going Sissy just informed me that where we are going shopping there is a Joann's and it is HUGE!!!! Going to get fabric to make DGD some dresses for her b-day while I'm here. I'm kinda bored not much to do just yet. Looking for to camping so I can do some fishing. TTYL ^_^
Ladies, I just got a call from Todd, and the Dr, is doing release papers to let him come home! The swelling in his knee is from the gout he has. it just found a different spot in his body to take up residence.
Thank you all for the prayers. They have been answered!
Sending so many (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) and thanks to each and everyone of you!
LK
Well, I'm back after our family reunion. We had a great time just laying around and playing games. My DGD came up with some interesting games that let us do some sharing with each other; as if you don't know all about each other now. We played a "Men are from Mars...." game. Had to talk the guys into playing but once they began to win they wanted to keep right on playing! Ages ranged from my ex at 75 to my DG at 3!
Thanks,Synda and Trisha.
Jaye,i love your DLS.
WELL THAT is good news LK! So happy for you...now make that man rest!
LadyDragon5, so glad you enjoyed your reunion. sounds like you had a good time with GD.
right now I am fighting with the batting for GS's quillow. grrr, thought I had a crib size, turns out it's a full size,,and do NOT want to go to Big town to get another, so am cutting it down. can always use the 'extras' for potholders,,,wallhangings etc. bbl
Oh by the way,,,heat index here today is 107 enjoyable degrees.
Jaye I think I misunderstood you and I need to learn how to write LOL, the child is fine, the mom, Erika 37 years old, passed away, she would have been 38 on the 4th of July. I have no idea how old her child or her husband is. Chris, her brother, was 33 when he passed away 4 weeks ago, he was my friend Christy's husband and they have a 4 year old. Erika and Chris's mom, Brenda passed away 3 weeks before Chris did, she was 60.
Marion I have the same ones, as does my next door neighbor, they do get tall and wide. How old are yours? Mine are on their second year, Diana's were already substantiated when they moved in over 4 years ago. Mine are cuttings from hers. Thanks for posting those, now I know what they're called! The mophead in the picture is probably 10 to 15 inches across at the widest part.
Had all kinds of wonderful surprised when I go home. I had quilt blocks waiting for the 12 month swap. Barb was nice enough to send me the next three months in plastic bags to help keep them clean and safe.
Then I got a book from Kell! He and I found we shared an interest in old science fiction and he sent me a book by Arthur Clarke. I love it and it is one that slipped my notice. I don't think I have even read it. I am really looking forward for to sitting down and diving into it. Wasn't that nice of him?
Llinda Kay, I am so sorry to hear about your husband and his ulcer. They are nothing to fiddle around with. Please take care of yourself and of him.
Joyce, do you see anymore carmels in your crystal ball? I just finished off the ones from Texas but doing brutal rationing and I am having withdrawal symtoms.
Marion, no sewing for you for a while. I know this is not the way you wanted to take a rest. That hand really looks bad and I hurt when I saw it. Have you tried soaking it in Epson Salts? My mother and grandmother were big believers in that for infections of that sort. May keep you from having another poke in the butt.
Hey, BJ..Phyliss...whatever happened to the boat seats? Did you finish them or give up? Last I heard BJ had ripped the sewing from the first day. Having you both been so busy with Ms. Milly that you have been negelecting your boat duties.
Crissy.. I stay confused all the time!!!! That is so unfortunate for that family, to have 2 siblings passed away within a month of each other.
We'll pray for God's peace and comfort for their families that they left behind.
Just too many dogs there Cindy!!! Just make sure you know what to feed the humans!!! Lolol!!! Sounds like you are already having the much needed R & R you need.
Thanks Cody. Wish you're living closer, we'll be exchanging DLs!!!
I point.. you plant :D
You must be glad to be home Janice. Seems that you've never stopped travelling after you left Tx.! Now it's time for a good rest before work.. or have you started working?
Yeah, Kel found that book on eBay for you Janice. He made me promise not to tell you when it was mailed.
I bet it will just take you one night to read the whole book!!
Sis Kathy, give it time. I have gingers that took 3 years before they bloom. First year they feed.. second year rest.. third year.. reap.
PTL, PTL LK!! Rather gout than something more threatening. You must be relieved.. take all that rich food away from him.. that includes choccies!! I can tell Merlin that his human godpa is okay ;)
Yea,Jaye, wish i did too that would be fun goofing off all day.
Love to goof off outside.. can't seem to concentrate indoors.. but the mosquitoes chased me away. Again they won!
I forgot to tell you Cody, that the lady in this area who sells brugmansias, are not doing it this year. Her daughter has breast cancer and she didn't have the time to go down to Fla.
Have 4 bags sitting here wanting owners, Janice.....
Hugs and prayers to all of you who need them.
♥♥♥
Janice, yes soaking it also. That is the most relief I get is when it is in the warm salt water. I am in no way enjoying this--I have things to do, place to go, gifts to make and general mischief to get into!!! LOL
Hello Cookie, I be missin' you.
Before my mind quits Jaye, have you tried those mosquito repellent fan things they advertise that clip on your belt??
Prayers going out to so many in need, for recovery, safe travel, for solace and any other needs....
Some prayers are being answered here....I took Laura to talk to an agency the power company recommended to her....they are going to pay for a great majority of their back electric bills....she is so happy because she says that will have them where she thinks they will be able to cover all of their bills with that burden out of the way. And in addition to that Sages birth mom came through with $100 to get Sage signed up at the YMCA for swimming lessons this summer. It will give her something to do and maybe she will meet some kids from her new school.
Kathy (((hugs))) to you all.....I am in that no funds for a "Staycation" also, so guess I will just go play in the dirt some more.
Beautiful flowers everyone......that is my goal for next year....lots and lots of lilies!!!
A Mimosa Tree, more Iris, more Bee Balm...... For this year... to get the pond in and the new front bed made......
I guess my main goal is to see if I can find a good little truck, or van we can afford before my old car quits completely. A small club cab pick up is my first choice....much easier to haul rocks and compost and go to the dump......Oh well life wouldn't be much if we didn't have our dreams.
Sun is trying to peak through the clouds...going to go chase a few more weeds before Sage shows up. Talk to you later...
Good morning everyone. Where are you all? it is time to rise and shine.
Coffee is on!
LK
I think they've all decided to sleep in LK,,,but I'll be glad to have a cup of coffee with you. How is DH doing so far?
I am here Linda Kay. How is Todd?
I got up at 8 but had a leisure cup of coffee reading the paper and watching the hummingbird activities this morning. They were extremely active for some reason.
Ms. Marion, how is your hand doing? I hope it's feeling better today.
Much better thank you. I can use my fingers a little more, the wswelling is going down finally but it is still very sore. All and all, better.
Well that is certainly good news. I pray it gets better better and better fast. Oh that must have been so painful. I was worried about you,,,still not out of the woods yet,,but it is improving some. Cat bites and scratches can become infected so fast,,,and they are hard to treat.
glad it's doing some better. now don't you go thinking you can weed all your gardens today,,,you still take it easy and rest,,,because rest will help your body fight that infection.
going to see if I can 'jumpstart' my son into cutting the grass for me. lol,,,if not, then I will get on it myself. can't stand tall grass on the weekend. bbl
Ah Marilyn, I have few problems with weeds as my yard is heavily mulched by Mother Nature. The natural look more or less. I wouldn't dare work outside today because of the heat--102 predicted with heat index over 110. Inside for me. Thanks for your concern--I must confess I haven't been this frightened before with a scratch or bite but I am now.
Morning Ladies,
This Oregon weather is so cool that I've been sleeping in. Yesterday I didn't get up until 8:30 yesterday morning, this morning 6:30. And it is messing with my artritis, my hands hurt so bad and I need to some sewing. Went to Joann's is was a big store but everything was spread out so there really wasn't alot of stuff. I was disappointed in the fabric section. I did better at Wal-Mart.
LK, so glad to hear Todd is doing better.
I'm here, been on for quite a while. Was watching tv with Dave but he started watching Law & Order re-runs and as it is a very good show it still bores sometimes.
Marion I'm glad you're hand is doing a little better, I'm glad it's so hot to keep you inside! LOL
I have a huge problem with weeds but don't want to use mulch as I'm afraid of overheating everything, and snakes making beds.
Morning everyone!
Oh God.. thank you LK.. coffee!!!!! I sure need some this morning.
LK, I know you must be happy that Todd is well on the road to recovery.
Couldn't stay up last night, had allergies and sinus fighting all over my face, nose and throat... then my ears are constantly full. Benadryl to the rescue. I think I was out too long in the heat yesterday. The heat index was about 105.
Maid M, is your hydrangea planted in too much shade? Mine is... maybe that's why mine remained short! Kel says it's compact :D
But that don't stop the blooms.
You think the hummingbirds are preparing themselves for some bad weather ahead? Hope not. Please no severe hurricane this year.
Glad you'll soon be able to make use of that hand.
Marilyn, when your son is through mowing, ask him to come on over.
Kel mowed just the front part, and he still has about 2 acres to finish in the back. He doesn't enjoy mowing in the heat. Who does?
One day, I'd love to visit the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Maybe one year, we could arrange a SI reunion there. That would be perfect for you, Cindy and Trisha too.
So far.. 2010 is still at Cookie's and Judy just sprang up and offered to do it for 2011. So.. what do you all think?
Crissy, I watch Law&Order reruns too :D That drives Kel crazy!!
No mulching here yet. But when we do, we have decided this year, to use pine straw.
As soon as Kel returns, we're off for our obligatory Saturday shopping.
Sad that what we want can't be found in this town. Got to make that weekly pilgrimage 40 - 50 miles away.
You all have a fantastic Saturday.
When son is finished? huh! I cut part of the grass,,,guess he figures since I stayed home all week, and he's worked all week, I should cut the grass? anyway,,,:) my plants are safer that way. didn't lose any this round,,,lost two last week,,grrrrr.
and the pool felt good afterwards too. heat index is going to 115 today. that's hot!
you all stay cool,,,and Marion, glad you can't go out,,means you will just have to rest some more.
Those hummingbirds may be feeding babies. watch them as they leave the feeder and if they go off in one certain direction constantly,,,look in that area for nests.
shhh,,,,we are three weeks into that 'wind' season,,,don't say that word out loud, I have to much to tie down now. :)
Lol.. got you sistah!! I won't say the "h" word no more.
Never thought of babies.. you may be right, Mariln.
Have a great Saturday everyone....please stay safe and cool....wish we could take some of your heat for you. We have a little weak sun right now but you can see the clouds all around.....we are supposed to have showers and only get in the mid to upper sixties today. I wish it wouldn't piddle around....if it is going to rain I wish it would just do it, get it over with and get warm again!
Sage has the clay out making her dad a Scorpion for Fathers Day (He is a Scorpio). We will meet Bill for picnic lunch....don't know what we will do after that...maybe some house cleaning? Eeeww, that isn't fun....
Jaye, You take care and over do in that heat...
Marion, glad you are doing a bit better today...
Waving to everyone....going to grab another cup of coffee then maybe we will go out and prep the pond area so it will be ready to start digging tomorrow. I got a new pad of graph paper so if the rain starts we will just start planning the new beds.
Have a good day all.....talk to ya later.
Well, our camping trip is going to be quite intersting. My cousin's ex husband is dying of luekemia and her son is heading for Idaho now. So we will have his 4 boys. OMG!!! 6 dogs and 4 boys on a camping trip Dear Lord help us,lol. Sissy said when the boys are with her they mind really well. I won't be getting much relaxtion now, lol. I will be hiding in the sewing room today.
