Garden Photos of '09...#26
probably not kansas willie
celeste very nice all of them and yes that is painted daisy
Thanks, Bill .... I thought yours looked way to perfect and full to be the same as my floppy bunch!
I will keep my eye out for 'Kansas,' though .... maybe these old ones will step up the blooms, if they see competition like that!
I bought Pass The Wine last year, Celeste, which is not blooming this year. So, I am glad you posted yours! I tend to like darker, or bluer flowers, anyway.
Anyone have any idea what this is being overpowered by my Aruncus dioicus?
It's kind of hard to see to the left of the Aruncus, but it is another kind of "goat's beard," which looks like astilbe, but isn't .... gets maybe 4 foot tall or more.
Some really nice colors in all those photos--loved Karen's frog shot---heard peepers in April along with leopard frogs---now they're quiet. I've always planted purple allium, but Patti, I think I'll try some white after seeing those. Jo Ann---thanks for the ID on one of my roses---Morden Blush. Victor, can't remember seeing any foliage on my hibiscus---gulp. Pixie---loved the carnation---Shelley, that fuchsia may be hardy for you, not my zone---but I did have a fuchsia come through it's second winter--planted by the road & rock wall---here it is...
Pixie, you have an amazing collection of great plants. I can't believe how you have caught up and zoomed past me with your bloom time. It finally feels warmer today so this is the last one for today as I need to get outside while it isn't raining.
Wha, more allium to come yet. Love them.
Regosa Sir Thomas Lipton is a nice double white and I like this rugosa 'Carmen' which has a single flat bright bloom. TBI Starring is startling. And a couple peonies that are joining the others in starting to bloom are Paeony Charles Burgess and Primeverer. They should really open up today. Patti
I bought that last year Robin...(Morden Sunrise) but it's so tiny it will be years before I see something like yours! It's lovely and im looking forward to 'some day'. lol
I'm waiting for the Buff Pixi lilies to open, should be today.
Celeste, everything is looking good! That columbine looks like my 'ruby port'
Booglingly beautious all!!!! I've been bouncing back and forth between the threads and bobbins catching up and I'm hoping I'm on the current thread.
oh my goodness.. so many great combos & blooms!!!.. perennial glads & mini carnations OH MY
Wow - you're cooking now, Celeste! Love Cloud Ballet and the mini carnation.
Great shots Willie, Patti and Robin. We're all in full bloom!
Wow, Pixie, you are in full bloom mode now. Beautiful!
Ok I have burstful iris buds. I WILL catch up soon. Thanks for being patient my dear friends.
Lovely D-nut, you'll catch up just like I am now. Next month for me is daylilies!!
Dnut the phlox & pulmonaria is a great combo
Wow, again another day where I can't possibly comment on all that I like.
Dnut... I second Allisons thoughts
Pixie... i agree completely about stock. It smells wonderful. I don't have any, but I've used it in some others folks' yards.
Thanks Robin... Only truly hardy fuschias will make it here, and that one does not look like a hardy fuschia. But, it sure is pretty.!
Patti... I love that TBI Dark Passion.
Jo Ann... I agree that Eskimo Sunset is stunning. I fell head over heals for it the first time that I saw one a few years ago.
I am definatly tearing out the diseased Vibernums at the corner of the house.
DD says wait another year.
I say no.They are not trimmed into a good shape and are invading a spot that I want for a sun garden.
I just have to save up the bucks to get the job done.
