OMG... you do have a really good looking family, Judy...
And I love that pic of your son too... he looks so happy.
Well, Girls... I tried for a cheesecake shot with the little red pepper, but this is all I could muster... I needed Judy to pose me, I guess.
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞145
Now... we're going to take these kids to the mall before they drive us both nuts... see ya'll later.
Oooh la la!! Hot to trot, Mama BJ!! Wooooweeeeee! You pose just fine and that that's a hot, hot, hot little roadster! It says BJ all over it!
I bet Kristi will want to borrow it one day ;)
Don, good job on painting the ceiling!
Oh Bj, that new chili pepper is soooo HOT! Way to go!
Now Phyllis, make sure you wipe your feet before getting in that car! LOL
Nice car BJ!
Now who will be the first to get a ticket? Todd and I have a $100.00 bet going to see who gets the first ticket in the Mustang! So far all is well!
LK
Still here, waiting on the mail man... Mike's expecting something from his mom, and has to have it today. Legal age to vote in Austria is 16, and his mom sent his "absentee voter's ballot" in the mail... can't print it online... today is the deadline to post mark it... so, we have to wait.
Uh... Kristi wants a lot of things she doesn't get... I don't think Don would go for that... since it would destroy him if something happened to her while driving it... not so much the car, but she is his favorite... don't tell the other DGDs... it's just the way it is.
Like Steven told me, "if you get in a wreck in that car, it'll be your last one"... not a lot of protection around you.
Jaye... not exactly HOT ROD MAMA here... Don teased me about doing 50 on the freeway yesterday... at 50 I felt like I was flying... I felt dangerous at 70... and slowed down to 60 in the slow lane... I became that little old lady that he fusses at on the road all the time...
Maybe in time I'll get used to it.
A late hello to everyone -
BJ - Beautiful car ! Snazzy ! And you look good too !
Just thinking - when I was a little girl, I never understood why my mom changed into lounging clothes as soon as she got home from work. Now I get it - no bra !
I managed to wake up at 7am. I didn't want to get up, but I sure wanted to get started on the new flowerbed. I ate a piece of toast, and out the door I went.
I managed to dig up a bed about 2 feet wide, with one corner. Not bad, considering I do everything with a trowel. I can't use a shovel - hurts my back. Anyway, my DH brought home a box of plants from one of his co-workers. She sent a beautiful purple bearded iris - just what I wanted ! And some morning glory starts, a mum, a sedum, and a couple ground covers. I'm not much into ground covers except for ajuga, but I stuck them in the ground anyway.
I had a cup of coffee with Norman, and then I went back outside until 11am. That's four hours, which is a long time for me these days. Gone are the days when I worked outside from sun up to sunset.
I did manage to put a couple plants in the ground, though. I know the bed needs to be wider, but at least those plants out of their pots.
I ate lunch, cleaned up the mess I left behind all morning, and here I am. I am going to shower and take my nap. Pav is sound asleep on my bed already.
Have a great Saturday everyone ! I'll catch up with you later.
Judy beautiful family!
BJ I Love That Car!!! And yes you will get used to it...won't take long.
Went from the 90's during the week to 60 and raining right now. Sooo glad....my garden really needed it!!
Suppose to clear up this afternoon. If so, Sage and I are going to make Frog stepping stones and start digging out the area for the birdbath in the back yard. I want to put down a brick and gravel circle to set the birdbath on so Larry doesn't get in a tizzie about having to move it to mow....have raised area in the center bed that I have moved the swing to so that it is out of the way....just need to remove a shrub and finish weeding out that area....haven't decided if I will replace the rock there or do some other type of ground cover.
O H W A H H...What a car!!
BJ, Doll, you did awsom sriking the pose!
Congratulation and lots of fun safe driving to all of you.
Thanks for compliments on my family...
LOL Jaye...Actually they all look just like Dad, Jacob when he was little, I swear was exactly cloned. Would you believe he had long curly blond hair until his first haircut at 5! People used to say what a cute little girl he was...LOL
Plus they all get their Height...My Dh hates taking photo...But he really has the best smile, gotta catch him candidly.
...Cindy, What a little doll your GD is and so pretty a princess in her Hawiian Dress.
Here is a nice pic of me and my mischifes sweetheart.
Aright...yikes it's suppose to rain...Hoping it wait until tomorrow or do it right now and be done with it.
I'e got to straighten up the kitchen, Steve went off shopping so...I might squeeze in a nap too...
Trisha, how cool frog stepping stones! anxiously waiting to see how they come out. What a fun thing to do.
Great little car, BJ, and the red hot chili pepper standing next to it looking good too. I take it you are going to keep it? Don't think Don would have it any other way.
Spent the past 4 hours getting the garden back in shape after being gone. The weather has been really good here for plants, sunny days and cool nights so everything is growning like weeds, especially the weeds.
As always I have some new things up; beautiful white poppies for the first time. Never could get poppies to bloom. The bondfire euphuria I planted last year bit the dust; maybe it was only an annual up here. We have our family reunion starting next Sat. so I wont get to go to the nursery and get annuals until almost the end of June. By that time things are picked over but maybe I'll get some deals.
Summer's Here!!
Hi Jaye, she is still doing good. She is one you know what of a fighter.I will have to wait a few more weeks before i can put something on her neck. She will be a little bigger than.
Just got back home, and all that promises of not buying anymore plants..well......................
Got more DLs and promised the Shooters I'll return next week to pick up more. Can't do all my purchase in one day, as they had a whole flock of DLs enthusiasts from Raleigh. Nope, Bonnie wasn't one. :(
The 'pilgrims' belonged to an online DL club.. and we picked at their brains for all the tips we can get in cultivating DLs.
Told y'all, it's dangerous when one of the top DL hybridizers live too close to me!! And I learnt too that Roycroft, another reputable DL hybridizer, about 40 miles away, will be closing shop.
But... Janice, this year, I didn't buy up any annuals. Can you believe that? Willpower? Nope... just cutting back on the watering.
Trisha, a brick and gravel circle will be beautiful for the birdbath. Take a pic when you're through with it.
Penny, back home, for comfort, traditionally we wear batik sarongs around the house. Just a piece of cloth wrapped around your bodice, and it hung long enough to reach your knees. The men tie their sarongs around their waists.
I know this is OT.. but one day when I was small, I angered my mom. Grandad was on his way to use the bathroom.. I ran to him for protection, hid behind his back, and unfortunately, tugged too tight at his sarong.. and ooops!!
Gosling Angel, hang in there tough l'il bird. You're a good mama Cody.
This email was sent to me. Thought you all might get a chuckle.
A Wise Child's Prayer:
Dear God,
Please send clothes for all those poor ladies in Dad's computer
Jaye - Cute poem ! Where is "back home" ?
Ladydragon - I love poppies, but I have never had any success growing them. Please post some pics of yours. Four hours in the garden ? I admire your energy !
Sounds like you all had a great Saturday ! I napped for almost three hours. Spent what was left of the afternoon doing laundry.
Dinner is done, Norman is at work, Mike is at his computer. I am going to watch an old movie and go to bed. Hopefully I can do some more outside tomorrow morning.
Off to see Kermit - anyone remember The Muppet Movie ?

Penny, if it's not JPEG, doesn't work on the images. I've had to convert my images to get them to post. That's the only thing I know,,,have to ask the other ladies if that's what is going on with your images, they'll tell us
Yes... only .jpg file format will upload to DG.
Well... I'm home from the MALL... actually, we dropped the kids off at the mall, and Don and I went some other places...
On the way to Dallas though, I had Don stop on the side of the road to take a pic of this wildflower so I can try to id it... Mike brought his camera, but forgot his memory card... so, I just pulled up one of the plants and took a pic of it when we got home.. anybody know what this is?
So, Don and I decided that my cell phone was about 4 years out of date... yep, been that long since I've updated. So, now I can take pictures on my cell, and actually upload them onto my computer... and NOPE, I don't text, and don't surf the net when I'm gone... so, I just wanted a plain, simple, common, ordinary, PHONE... with camera.
Then went to Joannes to get some of the stuff I need for the boat seats so I'll be ready when Phyllis comes on Monday... Don dropped me off, and went to get the car washed... I was done, and tried to call him on my new phone to discover that it wasn't activated... sheesh... the guy at the ATT store was so busy trying to sell us a bunch of stuff we didn't need, he forgot to turn my phone on... Don tried to call me too, and it didn't work.
So, we had to backtrack to the ATT store, get that "little" detail resolved, then picked up the kids at the mall.
Warmed up all the left overs in the fridge for supper... *sigh*...
So, anybody know what this is growing on the side of the highway?
It has prickly leaves with sharp pointed leaves... sharp, as in stickers that stab into the flesh. After handling the plant... my hands itched, and stung for a little while.
BJ, I'm not sure but isn't that Thisel? Not sure if I even spelled it right.
Take a look at this BJ, is this it?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thistle
yes it's thistle,,,,spreads like wildfire,,,,I wouldn't have it on my place. pretty isn't always so 'pretty'. lol
lol, three of us recognized that stuff right off. pretty to look at in someone else's property,,,but it will spread to yours by the wind.
LOL, and I didn't even spell it right. Must be the "rita".
Hey Cindy, have a rita for me too!
Bj, I believe it is thistle too! Nasty stuff. It will spread worse than dandelions do!
And it bites........LOL.
Hey Synda, how you doing?
OK ,Found a Plastic Surgeon ,now need to get the guts to make the appt.
When we lived in town ,I had these http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/77635/
OK LK, that first one tasted soooooooo good. Mom won't have any because I think she is getting nervous about her eye surgery on Monday. They said it takes about 3 hours. Even though it's and in and out thing I have to sit there for the whole 3 hours "just in case" the place is less than a 5 minute drive from here. So I guess I better take a good book.
Synda, you are having the breast reduction?
I have some of the Globe thistles like that Synda....they are sooo pretty.....
One of these days I want to get some of the Sea Holly too....
The Ins said to go to the plastic surgeon and get all the measurements and good stuff and then will see if they will pay.
I like the sea holly to ,never knew about it til Daves,I've lived such a sheltered life.....LOL.
I have decided not to color my hair anymore. I'm begining to like my gray. As you can see in the pix with DGS (in other room) I have a cowlick that is solid white. It was too much of a hassle to color every 6 weeks then get a trim. I hate having "fried" hair.
I try and let it go for as long as possible before redoing it,but Rick is 8 years younger than me and blonde....hate to appear to be his mother.....LOL.Plus I have more gray than my momma.
Plus I have a white streak that goes down the middle of my head and then at the temples.......when it grows out I look like a skunk.
OH MAAAN.... THISTLE?... sheesh... that's why my hands itched and stung after handling it... It is pretty though, when the wind caught it just right, it glistened in the sun...
BUT... guess pretty isn't always practical... I'll pass on that one.
Trisha... that is pretty too... what is it?
I'm just keeping my eye open for free seeds in ready supply for the strip across the street in front of the fence ... the neighbor said I can sow some seeds there, and he won't mow them down next year... So far, I have those tall long stemmed daisies... and some yellow mexican hat coneflowers... I might get the nerve up to get some of the wild blanket flower seeds along the side of the road when I spot some spend seed heads.
I just thought something purple or blue would look nice too...
BUT... not if it's THISTLE.
LOL Synda... I have the opposite problem... turning gray all around the sides and back, leaving one strip down the middle starting at the middle of my forehead, going back to my neck that is still light brown with no gray at all in it.
LOL........isn't aging great!!!!
Well, ladies,,,,have we learned anything about stopping along the road and stealing flowers? oh,,,stealing,,,that's a harsh word,,,'transplanting' flowers? lol
bj, pour some alcohol on it and the itching should stop. and rinse with cold water after the alcohol dries.
