OMG... Cookie... the cherubs are so wonderful !!! I just can't wait to stroll through your gardens... Incredible.

NO... NO daisy dukes.... LOL... silly Ms Jaye.

Trisha... Yes... I'd love to see a pic of Laura's fountain...

Judy... What a heartfelt gesture to send your sister off with the beloved mocs... you're such a sweety.

Just walked the lower kingdom with the KING... and found some new DL blooms that I need to go down and take a picture of so I can ID them.
ID'd two fo them this morning from pics... only about 25 more to go... but I don't think they'll all bloom this year... they're still vewy vewy little.
So far I know I have an Allegiance... and a Fairy Tale Pink.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Joyce the garden look lovely and your angels and cherubs are just the right touch. I am not surprised that those are the things your choose for your garden. They give me the same serene feeling that sitting and talking with you gave me.

I don't know who is more excited about this car, BJ, you or Don. If you don't watch out he will steal it out from under you! I hope it is just what you wanted when it gets there.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Actually, Janice... I think that the Miata is more for his benefit than mine... he won't admit it, though...
We've always considered the Tuscon as HIS car, and the Pick up Mine. The Tuscon gets better gas mileage for his commute, and I don't drive much, so it just makes sense. But when I need to keep the Tuscon for some reason, he hates driving the pick up. PLUS, even though the pick up has never given us much problems... it is 10 years old, and is now needing some mechanic work on it.
When I need to trade cars with him (to fit more people in the car) he won't complain so much when he has to drive the Miata. And, actually... I give it about a month that the Miata will be HIS, and the Tuscon will be MINE... we'll see.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Joyce, thanks so much for sharing those beautiful Angels, but you know those Angels will look better in my Angel garden! LOL
Better watch out when we all visit, you may be missing one or two! LOL They are so very pretty!
Cindy, So glad to hear your almost moved out, but make sure you have his name off your bank account also. he may try to do something nasty, like go to the bank to take money out! Just gotta cover your butt.
BJ, make sure we get pictures of that red hot chili pepper!
Well, I just watered the garden, cause it is supposed to be like 98 today, and 101 or more the rest of the week! WHEW! Anybody want some warm weather, come on down and get it.
Later

I think you hit the nail on the head BJ! My son always said I was the only woman he knew who loved her cars; usually a "man toy".

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

good morning ladies. almost noon here, what I haven't gotten done, I need to get done! lol
Jaye, I've finished 7 vests and have about 16 more to go. I have no idea how many little girl dresses I have,,,they are all cut out and in a bag just waiting for me to pull them out and start.
I have to go to a friend's GD 's house tonight to pin up a dress on her and mark her fiance's pants to hem. (p.s. I HATE doing alterations) so need to get more vests sewn. will check in with you all when I take a break.
BJ hope you get your little red fire engine today. lol

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Don just called the salesman... the red chili pepper is not in Dallas yet... but is en route.

So, I'm going to change clothes back into my grungies, and get something done while it's still cool outside.

See you slick cats later...
Speaking of, Where are you Gwen?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Penny, you're a cute baby! Do you still have those dimples?
What will you be growing in your new bed.
Kel shudders each time I propose a new bed. He knows I'll be using his muscles!

Hi Janice. I'm not much into cars. Somehow I feel safer driving full sized trucks.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
H O L Y C O W ! ! ! Boy did we ever have a storm last night!!! It started around 10 pm and ended around 4 am. Thunder and lightening then the sky opened up dumped BUCKETS of rain on us. There were over 7000 lighten strikes. It was the most awesome sight. Mom hates thunder so she put her walkman headphones on then turned her tv up so loud I could hear it in my room, and I wasn't even wearing my hearing aid, LOL. I had my bedroom windows open and enjoyed every bit of it. There are 8000 people in Marysville without power. Mom just informed me that my DGS graduation has been moved to the gym. It was suppose to be outside but the storm is suppose to come back around 3 this afternoon, and continue off and on thru Saturday. DRATS!!! I need to finish working in my garden :(

Well, I will get some sewing done today and maybe finish putting my craft room together.

So................................TTYL }!{

Glenview, IL

Well, good that you called first! So lets just keep fingers crossed it will arrive today...thought you mentioned something about it coming Friday, lol but today is better.

OK, took pic for ya...

But for the new sistah's got to tell the story.

My belt, (half shown,) was originally my Brother's as part of his dancing attire, granny and mumma made it for him. Under the madallion are his initials...When Carol Bear started my head dress, he gave it to her because he wanted me to have it as something borrowed.
he is such a love! So Bear made my head dress and the matching Rose madallion, that Same rose was also on my mocs...

LOL, the head dress Bear and I talked at great length over the phone and measurement of my head...My entire Wedding outfit was tried on the week before my wedding, lol my only fitting.

Oh golly...Storms like that scare me to death! Glad your alright...Congrats on GS graduation!!

WOW Cindy, that never happens! Did you hear about the plane that flew out of Oakland Airport yesterday morning, got struck by lightning on the way up, so turned around and went back?

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh Judy, that is so beautiful! You have such a heritage. I have a lot of Indian in my ancestry, but only way way back full blooded indians. We are originally from the Powhattan tribe, (they are extinct now),,Pocohontas was the beginning of our family. Sir Walter Raleigh also,,,wish he had his tobacco plantations stuck somewhere now, lol,,,,
I love anything Indian,,,native American.
I also guess that is why I get so brown outside and do not burn. grateful for that. I love the outdoors. and I can walk up on you and you won't know I'm there. I don't do it intentionally, just don't walk with a heavy foot. someone always told me, 'don't sneak up on me like that'. to which I would reply,, I didn't , I can't help if you're deaf. lol
But ,,I love your dress and full attire. One day I am going to get myself one of those dresses, I think they are beautiful.

So glad to hear the jobs are working out for you!. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX! Hope you have a great day!

Cindy, that sounds like a huge storm. Hope your new plants did not get too much water?

Judy, love the bead work! Lots of work goes into that I bet?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LK, remember when you asked if anyone could make them Peek-A-Boo kids? Here are the ones that I was talking about. Also is a pix of Donald and Daisy duck costumes I made. That is my mom and dad. My first husband I and wore those the year before that pix was taken. We won first place at the Moose Lodge then went to our local bar for party and won 1st place there. I made hubby wear Daisy, lol.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, those costumes are so cute. I bet you had a great time that night!
Love the peek a boo kids too, but you don't need to put the face and such on them. I have seen them where they have just a cloth head, and no face was on them, or maybe just a painted face. I want them to place outside in the garden, to make it look like they are playing. So I don't need all that detail. But boy are they cute! Do you put a doll head on them?
This is me with my sister on the old family car. Probably about 2 or so here. I am on the right side.

Happy Birthday Max!! Hope you get lots of b'day kisses from your kids!
Thank you for taking your time to post, Donna. Lord will keep on blessing you, just keep your faith.

Yep, Marilyn.. Judy has a beautiful heritage.. and so does Dusty.
Somehow I have the feeling that you will sew a doeskin dress after you're through with all your assignments.

LK, looks like you're wanting that doll baaaaaaaaaad. Hard to choose a pretty baby... we've all grown into beautiful women.

7000 lightning strikes...and you call that awesome, Cindy?? I would have find space in a closet!!! That's scary!

Cody, hope you have a pleasant day today. Be ready for the inevitable to happen to your gosling.

Yes, more baby pictures of yourselves, please

Raleigh, NC

hey, sistahs. got some questions for y'all

several of us are "of an age". several are old enough to need help. some of us have aging parents we have to help.

Mom gave in and signed the forms. she and dad are moving into a independent/assisted living place. my sisters, while I was in Kansas City, got everything going, went to all the different local places, and got Mom the very best she and Dad can afford! they make it sound so great I want to move in tomorrow! best of all, it's just down the street from us.

Mom is going to need a new mattress - she has been incontinent for years. We want her to have something that smells fresh. Do any sisters know of a good brand, or info on a bad brand to avoid? we're thinking something like a Craftmatic, so she can have it help her up. she is agreeing to this move but REFUSES a hospital bed.

also, do any of you have info on mattress protection for impotence?

downer subjects......but we all need this if we're lucky enough to live that long!

we're already planning the first family party at this place's party family room!

Glenview, IL

Awwe!! I love the baby pictures, you are all adorable.

Don't have any from my baby years...
This is me at 6 or 7?

Thank you, yes, beadwork is very time consuming and takes lots of patience.
Some can be so intriquest could take years.

My family used to hold all night beading parties, like some people have quilting parties.

Cindy, just love the peak aboo doll, they would be adorable next to a tree, too cute.

Well, when we bought a new mattress a year ago, it is one of those memory foam ones, and very expensive, so we went out and bought waterproof mattress pads, to protect it!
The memory foam wont help your mom, as far as it raising up and down for her. The craft matic will, but I hear they are pricey too!
The waterproof mattress pads for a king size bed, was about $60.00 a piece, but well worth the investment, against any type of spills, accidents, or sweating!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Praying all is well..

Cody how are you?

Such beautiful babies and lil' girls........

Love the Peek-a-Boo Kids, but the dancing ducks are priceless.........LOL

Can't wait to go to Cookies and see it all up close.

Pretty flowers........such a wonderful thread to open up!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yep, I do both LK, cloth head or vinyl. On the vinyl ones I put wigs on them. You know I can send you the pattern if you'd rather save yourself some bucks. Because it will be late July before I would be able to make them. They aren't hard at all. Your call, Sistah.
My little garden gal has a cloth blank face, then I put hair and a hat on her, some gloves and garden tools in her pants pockets. I think I posted a pix waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in SI somewhere.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

LK searched preserving old documents and this is one of the ones I came up with….

Joyce, Beautiful yard! I love your angels!

Can’t wait to BJ all dolled up in the little Chili Pepper!! And the DL’ are breath taking!

(((Cody)))

Oh Cindy, I wish we would get a good old fashioned Thunder Storm…..get them all around us but almost never have one here

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

good evening ladies. oh baby pics,,,alas, I only had one, don't know how old I was , but when going through pics to divide among the five sons, I gave it to the oldest and he promised to copy it for the other four. I was sitting in a pedal push car that the older three's father had given to us. He outgrew it, and his mother and father passed it down to us. Then many many years later I married the guy. lol, small world. And I always had a nice car to drive,,,to bad the Nam war messed everything up. But like I say, I have no baby pics.
Was I EVER a baby? seems like I've taken care of babies my whole life, so I couldn't have been one myself now could I?
I can remember washing my little brothers diapers, and I was but three! I know this to be a fact because I was born in 52, and little brother was born in August of 55. so maybe I was 3 and a half. Honey I hated that job!!!!! lol,,,then have 5 of my own? how we forget. lol
Time is a beautiful thing, helps us forget. lol

Marilyn - I remember those pedal cars ! I had a bright red fire engine.

Cindy - I didn't think you got much rain in northern California. Sounds like quite a storm. My son, Bill, lives in the San Gabriels. He tells me that when it rains in Ca. it is hard to drive because the oil on the roads gets slick.
Ah - I've been California dreamin' since I was there in the 70's. I hope to move there when Norman retires. We'll see...

Keep those baby pics coming ! Cindy - I love those white appleseed shoes ! I had two pair when I was little - a red pair for play and a white pair for good. I always hoped I would have a little girl just so I could buy the shoes !

heavenscape - I started the new flowerbed this morning. I would like to put a yucca in on of the corners. Also some bearded iris, and lots of different hosta. One of Norman's co-workers said she will give me some plants, but I have no idea what they will be. Norman wants to buy a hydrangea he saw at the garden center. I searched those this morning only to find that not all are hardy here. I am trying to replace my favorites, but I am quickly running out of money.
Perennials can be awfully expensive.

This day has gotten (is that a word ?) away from me. It is almost 4:30pm - time to fix dinner.

Heavenscape - My dimples are gone. Here is a picture of me now -

LOL Countrymom that cracks me up about the driving in the rain in CA! I never worried or thought about it, and after living here for a few years now, it's not any different, some people don't know how to drive anywhere in any state, it seems. In CA they'll run you over, here they won't move out of the way. I wouldn't move back to CA if they paid me, but glad I have lots of friends to visit when I want to go to SF or Sac or somewhere LOL!!

I don't know if I have baby pics or not, I'll have to look. My mom might have them all and she doesn't have a scanner :(

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my you gals do chatter away a day. A person can't take a day off for errands without falling miles behind--ain't no fair--I be slow!!! LOL

Oh Joyce the more I see of your gardens the more unhappy I am with mine. Just gotta get out there and get mine done faster. Love the cherubs and angels so much.

Jaye, moon pie face? Honey you aren't alone with that one--I am from the south with a moon pie face and a RC cola in hand!! Yeap truly be a southern thing. Actually I hate moon pies and RC's---I want my coke!!!! Banana flip might not be so bad--nope to many bad things in it. Why is it everything I like is fattening, illegal or immoral?
Just joking--I am rather tame actually but do like my fattening foods but have to forgo most.

Cindy, I love to hear the rain at night. Best time in the world to sleep. Thunder and lightening I can do without but give me the rain preferably on a tin roof....and my neighbors think I leave the metal bucket in front of the house because I forgot it. If they only knew.

BJ so will the red hot pepper be in Dallas tomorrow. Pictures dear sistah, pictures. I can just see you and Phyllis leisurely driving through the countryside.

Cody so sorry about your problems with your goose. So sad.

Ok, now we are into baby pictures? Hummm, did the have camera back when I was a child--can't remember. Will need to see if I have any that I can scan so as to post.

Just talked with my sister and Mom's surgery has been postponed due to her having a UT infection and a spot showing up on her x-rays. She has one spot we knew about but was told it is scar tissue from asthma and bronchitis but there is another spot this time. Has me concerned but I still feel like it might be the same. Will find out next week. Earliest now they will do the surgery will be July 20th. She is a little let down but does understand the necessity of postponing it at this time.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Penny, where I live we even get snow sometimes. Not much, just enough to say "AW isn't that pretty" then it melts. I remember in "64" we had a good snow storm, 3 feet deep since then like I said not much. Yes, the first rain of the season does cause the roads to get oily and there are alot of idots who don't know how to slow down. Lots of fender benders on days like that.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

How do you send a blast Dmail?????????????

Cuyahoga Falls, OH(Zone 5a)

Marion - I listened to Susan Boyle sing again. I didn't realize Dream was from Les Miz. I'm hooked. I just ordered the score. I want to go to Amazon and order a soundtrack. Which one would you recommend ? Isn't there a movie too ?

Fill me in - what kind of surgery was your mother to have ?

Cindy - You get snow ? Bill gets snow sometimes, but it is rare and he is up in the mountains.

As far as the idiot drivers are concerned, I thought they were all here ! At least, that is what my DH tells me - lol !

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

OK...found it.........thanks.

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

Synda you have dmail

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well... we tried the scanner... and it said that we have "no cable connected"... Don said he never set it up... and didn't seem interested in doing that today... He's not been too interested in doing much of anything today... guess he just needed a day off to recoup from the heat...

Just got back from Lowes... and am so disappointed... I went to get some StaGreen slow release fertilizer... it's about 1/3 the price as Osmocote, and just as good... but they don't carry it anymore... DARN...
But, I did buy a 1gal Blanket Flower... guess that saves me from stealing the spent blooms off the side of the highway, huh? Might still do that when Don's not watching, though... he just hates it when I pull over to steal plants or seeds.

BTW, Jaye... the pork ribs done in the smoker were excellent last night... if Kel wants the recipe, let me know... way too easy, and they fell off the bone.

I think I've talked Don into taking Mike an I to Tiki Hut tonight... gonna try one more time for that Turkey Panini that Joyce had that day...

Maybe the red hot pepper will arrive tomorrow... hope so, cause if not... I think Don's going to wear the varnish off the floors here.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yes, I'm about 85 miles west of Lake Tahoe. The last three years Auburn did get a lot of snow days. As a matter of fact one night on our way to bowling (we were coming from Marysville to Auburn to bowl) I noticed that the rain drops were starting to get slushy. The closer we got to Auburn the whiter the slush got. It snowed for about two hours. We had to use 4 wheel drive to get out of the parking lot after bowling was over. Some roads were closed.

My DGS graduation is going to be a mad house. There are 300 kids graduating and not enough room to seat the relatives. The school is telling the kids they can only have 4 family members. Mom and I are getting there 1 1/2 hour early. My daughter has to work until 5 and may not get a seat. Will have some pix in the morning. Gotta go!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Penny, it really bothered me when I read the news about the mix up with the phone numbers the other night regarding Susan Boyle. What a bummer!!! Yes, from Les Miz and I don't think there is a movie (musical) out. I know there is an old movie but not with the musical scores. I have the Broadway copy with Crom Wilkerson and several other copies as well. They are each very good with in their own right. I just love the music!! You have to understand my late husband really loved music (well so do I) and would always be buying CD's.

Ladies I think the worse drivers without a doubt live in Gainesville, Florida. Having been away a while I wonder how I ever drove there.

....and what is wrong stopping on the side of the road for flower heads? or plants for that matter? Of course some of our sistahs would never do that would they Deborah and Kris? LOL

Penny, Mom was to have a knee replacement the 8th of this month.
