Th-th-that's all folks!

Oh those nasty slugs. I try to keep everything sprayed and got an earlier start this year. The leaves look like my elephant ears with all those holes. The ears weren't eaten they were pummeled with the ice storm as were several other plants. Will have to post a pic of the leaves as it tore right through them. The rain might make for a soggy mess but your roses look fab and you have rose of sharon already, wow!
blossom, that rye grass has really taken off - that galladaria sure is pretty, do you have a lot of them?
yardqueen, I believe that dahlias are my alltime favorite, but that peachy hibiscus is something that really catches the eye isn't it?

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

haighr, so sorry about your slugs. You need FROGS!!! LOL!

Yardqueen, stunning pics! I am sooo drooling on that Endless summer! So far no blooms here on mine, but I have quite a few new starters of it started!

That orange daisy I think is a Mexican daisy maybe?

Hmmm chasteberry, my friend was feeding those to her horse for holistic reasons. The horse has cushings.

Such stunning pics once again!

Today I have pink achillea, this one is Apple Blossum

BB it appears you have some of everything growing on your plains - Do you plant an entire mountain!

South, TX

SO many beautiful plants. I love them!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Haighr, no mountain, just 25 acres of native growth on a sand pond and prairie with pasture and about 3 that are planted in daylilies and other perennials. Kinda a hobby gone awry.. I keep getting things sent to me for some strange reason!! LOL BUt I love it! I think I am going to start a photo book of the plants here. YOu can see all my plants on my trade list.. but right now it is not up to date and I have suspended trading until I have caught up with the peopl I have promised.

I keep posting them there because its easier for me to log them there then a journal.. some how it got extensive!

This year has been my year to shot the prairie, pond plants and perennials. Last year I did mainly daylilies.

Plant files does not include the name "Chasteberry" but it does have that name as well as the others... like "Monk's Pepper" for the same reason. It has to do with one of the effects of the herb. The following is very interesting information on the uses of the "berry," especially the historical information at the bottom of the page. I think a lot of people call it Vitex.

Hi Yardqueen, Thanks for the info, very interesting, sounds like a good thing for womens problems!!

Blossom, what is cushings?

Have a nice weekend everyone, Happy gardening!

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Terri, I am not sure exactly what cushings is and will have to google that one. But the berries are supposed to be some homeopathic remedy to help. But she has trouble with her feet and is to fat all the time. Personally I think the fat part is from the wrong feed and not enough exersize and well, I got my other opinions about the mare.. but that is me.

Well today I had a lovely surprise in the garden.. my Realms Of Glory daylily was a blooming..here it tis!

I had a lovely surprise in my garden, another of the Japanese iris blooming, just a single flower but it has been a few years with nothing so this is a nice start.

Dalfyre, that iris is lovely.

I also had a yellow daylily blooming...this one is called SWEETIE FACE! Its a happy little bloom and very prolific...this is last years pic. Im running out of disc space so I am not going to be shooting many fresh daylily pics, but will bring last years up as they bloom this year. They have not been on Daves yet so they will still be new to everyone! So pardom me if I cheat a little. (If you think I had lots of daffodils.. try some 500 varieties of daylilies....!) This is gonna be a long thread

500 - omg - I am suffering from plant envy!
I read your post earlier about how many dayliilies etc you had planted & was green with envy.
I have a suburban yard, big compared to many modern yards here but no 1/4 acre paradise either...
right now trend is 1/8 acre sections or less.
Courtyard gardens are the in thing - but raised vege plots are 'da bomb'.
The recession has some things to be grateful for.

Christchurch, New Zealand

my nemesias are going strong even after taking some out to put in at work.
they are just fabulous in this strip of garden hat I previously neglected.

Well, dont be too green with envy.. the weeds this year as ever are atroushious.

I have been collecting for over 25 years. In that time I have moved more than 3 times. The last move we dug and dug and potted and moved and planted and it just never stops! We literally moved one acre of daylilies and other perennials when we came here. Now we are near 3 acres in beds. I help folks thin beds and get a lot of my plants from them and do trading and its just a hobby gone to obsession and awry!!. LOL! I have beds that flood out and so I am always trying to fill holes, but my main stay here seems to be the daylilies! Daylilies nd daffodils.. they both do good in my swamp!

This year I thought I would hang it up.. so hang it up I have been doing... I got baskets everywhere now. Have not tried any daylilies in baskets.. I think that is going a wee tad too far! Although the thought has just entered my mind... PennysWorth might be the one to try that with!!! LOL!. I think I need to see a shrink.....betterstill my chiropractor!

Here is Sally Farley.

Seedling.. un-named, but different, it has variagated leaves which is unusual for a daylily!
