Well, not the most perfect of Missouri primrose flowers, but the yellow I think looks great with the rest of the combo of varigated hosta and what nots!
June 2009 - In the Garden
Haighr, you just have to do what my hub did when it was hailing here and he ran out in it to get the horses off the pasture. He took my deep boil pot and put it over his head for armour!! LOL! Stupid animals though, they wanted to stay out in the hail. Guess the horrible loud noise of the stones pelleting the steel shed was enough to make them want to endure the hardship of teh hails nasty massage!.
When our storm was over we took a drive in the country and you could see a rainbow at one end of the horizon and a pile of hail where the storm had ended and as it laid in the fields between rows of corn. Truly a nasty, but awesome sight of nature. We had some devastation. I had over 5000 mum plants I had started and it was opening day of my greenhouse at the old farm and wham. What a mess! I had fractured mums and mum pots everywhere! Had to close the next day!
Here is a bloom I cannot get enough of and that is coreopsis. It makes a stunning show and is one that I would love to see scores of out on our prairie. The finches and orieles love it!
Got through fine here thanks for askin. My Steve did come to the door with a huge tray over his head to come and rescue me, but it was lightening so badly that I opted to just stay in the car with my ears covered, it was like being in a tin can with somebody hammering on the lid, I know how you animals musta been frightened to be in the barn.
The coreopsis that I have does spread but quite slowly so may be a while before you have a field full, but it is pretty stuff isn't it.
Sorry about the hail stones Candee, glad you are safe.
Hope your nasturtiums pick up, I have only 1 coming up. lol
Pretty flowers Blossom, like the hairy Vetch!
I think they came over to my yard for dinner and midnight snack, Terri. I came home from work yesterday and there were 20 snails all over my poor crinium. They ate my delphinium to the ground last week.
So annoying isn't it! I gave up with delphinium for the same reason. escargot???/ yuk!
Still throwing snowballs at me with your giant puff Blossom? lol ! Very pretty Gallardia.
I agree... Love the Gallardia. I think those colors are the prettiest Gallardia I have ever seen.
Terri, your pics are beautiful! I especially love your roses.
Awesome cannas!
Yes terri, still tossing puffy snowballs! LOL!
Do you think we ought to mow the grass?!! This is rye grass... its an annual, but its nto ready for mowing. We are harvesting the seeds from it to grow more for next year. Would you beleive, we started with just a handful of this seed 10 years ago and look at this patch! Old Blue eyes is scouting it for weeds!
Hi Yardqueen! awwwwwww those Cannas are so gorgeous! Love how vibrant and exotic they are!
They look so healthy this year and more flowers than last year? Fabulous big leaves.
Thank you for this special treat my friend! What a Beautiful garden you have.
