Columbine William Guinness Off Color

These have freely self-seeded for the better part of 20 years now and some variations are starting to show up.

I am going to bag these and see if they come out the same color from seeds. Probably not, eh?

I finally have some blooms to post (it was raining over the past 4 days and I didn't want to muck up my camera :-/ )

I got my ginormous order in from Cherlday from the Lily Auction today, all 26 of them! I posted pics on the DL forum.

For those of you not familiar with her, ORDER...lol. I purchased all double/2 fans from her, and many were triple, quadruple, and 5 and a few 6 fan clumps!

I'm doing the DL happy dance!!!

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

venu209, I love your CPM. Actually, all of your roses are so gorgeous, makes me want to try growing roses!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

aaaahhhhh I was only gone a few hours... that's a lot of photos!!

Venu love the Nicole... and Willie love all the columbines! ... no clue about the savory... sorry

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thom... congratulations... your order sounds wunderful.
Nice pics Willie.... I'm with Allison, I love the columbine!
Venu.... All lovely! The autumn sunset with NJ sunrise is my fav.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Willi what mutated?
I hope not, altho I have heard the spurred Aquiligeas can become doubles. How does that happen?
Bees?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Maybe mutate is not the right term. Not coming true from seed? is more what I mean.

I am not sure I have had the Black Barlow long enough for them to cross breed with the William Guinness .... maybe. Don't really see any columbine in the neighbor's yards. Not much flowers at all, in fact.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Do you mean if the plant self sows in the garden, the flowers color is different?
This is DD's Black Iris, Ive waited 2 days to see this.

Nice black iris Jo Ann

Thomaston, CT

Loved the color on the columbines, Willie---mine never self seed. Jo Ann, your black iris & Jumper's yellow rose would make a nice combo! Thom---where are your photos posted? Here is MBI Bumblebee---I think!

Bumblebee Deelite is the full name.

Rhinebeck, NY(Zone 5b)

What a collection of great gardens (and gardeners!). Every picture has something to learn from (and maybe steal an idea from?). Thank you!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Great pics, everyone!

Willie, I love your pic of the spaghetti squash bloom. That's a very nice one!

Hemhostaholic, I'm glad you got such a nice order from Cheryl. I just got 16 DL's from her, and they were good, though you sound like you got much better ones. Mine also came postage due and ended up sitting at the post office for over a week, as I was unable to make it there to pick them up. I sent her an email about that tonight.

Jo Anne, that black iris is just scrumptious!!!!

That MBI Bumblebee Deelite is great!

I agree! Look at the results of our first two year's of an uncompleted wish list!

This photo was taken two weeks ago. Today it looked great, but the tulips are beginning to go by. I hope to get more photos tomorrow, if the family cooperates.
