I'll be interested in the pic, Victor. Does it have thorns? I was going to get rid of what I THINK is a barberry bush in my yard, until it blossomed, what a heavenly scent!
Coffee Break #11 - Moms rule!
Sure about that, drum?? I have a number of barberries but never any scent.
There is talk that Mrs. Partridge, Shirley Jones, might pose nude for Playboy at 75 years old. C'mon get happy!
Looks like barberry. And it has a fragrance?
EEEEWWWWW!!!!!!

There's a priest in Miami who's leaving the church because he has fallen for a woman and wants to marry. His last name? Cutie! Can't make this stuff up.
no you can't
No, for sure there are some crazy things out there! I'm going to art class this afternoon, & I didn't do my homework---my bad! Just didn't have time---or just lazy. Going now to a fav local nursery to buy pepper plants, & look to see what's growing. On Fri. WFF is having 'Tomatomania'----I'll pick up a dozen or so of the heritage ones. The toms I grew this year were from a freebie pkg called 'Delicious'- we'll see.
Victor, where do you get these bizarre tidbits??
They just seem to find me. Hee hee.

Love the end of the second line.
Aha! You read Yahoo news. I read the NY times (if I get a chance). Might be why I never get to the really venomous stories first.
Depends on who's president. ^_^
What you read? Depends on who's president. OK.
No - the venom contained in the NYT depends on that.
Ha. Ha. Well, I've been a good mother - took DD to the doctor on Friday with an asthma attack. MD "I gotta make her better by mother's day." Gave her 5 days of prednisone. She WASN'T better by Sunday, I called the office (and probably talked to someone in Bangalore, I know they weren't in Boston) and they said bring her in Monday. DH took her in Mon. and she got three nebulizer treatments, MORE prednisone, an antibiotic, another inhaled something, and if she's not better by Thursday they might admit her. So he was half mother on this one. Grandma's waiting in the wings. I don't know if her Real father even knows she's sick.
Oh, Carrie, hope she's better soon.
Too funny, Victor
Good luck with your daughter's health Carrie.
Good luck with her, Carrie.
I know, thanks, everybody. She's hacking away in her bedroom.... 30% allergies, 60% asthma, 30% some kind of cold or virus (hopefully the kind that is susceptible to antibiotics, lol) whoops, I think I used up my percents. When she gets sick, every 2-3 years, she gets scary sick. And she's 15, so if she doesn't tell me she's wheezing because she wants to go to rehearsal or something, she can sometimes fake me out. During the day, that is, but it's always worse at night.
You notice I effectively changed the subject. Bait 'n switch.
Good wishes for your DD, Carrie.
Isn't she a little old for you Victor?
She has stayed in shape.
Hee hee... glad to see you found something you really like Victor!
Nice to know that men have not over-evolved!
hehe
Carrie--so sorry about your daughter---hope she's well soon! Victor---that 1st story was awful! Good thing I'm not planning any Asian trips----I'd have to check every bowl---EEEWWW.
Ugh, back to MD today, chest X-ray, everything is on track she's just not better yet. She will be. We just waited too long before we started panicking. She'll be fine by Friday, they say.
Carrie, I hope your daughter is better very soon.
Welcome back, Dahlia. Sounds like a great trip!
Nice hummer pics, Allison!
Celeste - those are lovely pulmonaria! I'm thinking about some for a new shady garden I'm 6 years late in planting (in front of our not-yet-landscaped "garage shed"). I really love your Ann, but it would bloom before we arrive, so I'll have to go with the later-bloomers. Any other suggestions for an almost-full shade summer garden of blooms???
Phoebe - I like that barberry shot - I didn't realize it blooms!
This morning on our walk we saw some wildflowers in bloom WAY ahead of schedule.....trillium, lady slippers in particular. We also saw May flowers and a very pretty magenta violet-like tiny little flower, along with some gorgeous mini-violets that DH calls "road violets" because the little clumps are right at the edge of the road. I plan to take my camera tomorrow and get some shots of some of these. Ahhhhhhhh, NH.....so glad to be back!!!!
Cool! Can't wait to see them--love wildflowers. I used to live where they were plentiful and used to keep a journal of what I found and identified. Even had wild iris growing in wetland area. Mostly along or near the Nipmuck Trail. Does that reach up to NH?
Columbine for your shady garden?
oooo I luv violas. Can't wait to see your pics DonnieB.
