Coffee Break #11 - Moms rule!
My fil grew up in St Clair.
Hubby says he has switched from Yuengling to Hacker Pschorr and any other German made beer.
How adorable, Allison, in pic #4 he looks like a stuffed animal....how are the others taking to him?
Allison, What kind of dog is he? Very cute.
it seems he is afraid of everything.... and the other dogs... but we stopped at my house to say hello to my girls... and Jily was very interested in him... but he mostly wanted to hide on one of our laps... it seemed Lily just sniffed him a few times and wasn't sure what to make of him... it was not the outcome I expected.... in my mind I was thinking lots of kisses and playing... it didn't happen.... everyone loosened up after a while and started sniffing and checking each other out... it seemed like it was too much for Riley to handle all at once though.... once we got him home by Michele and her dog Wily was alone.. it seemed much better... he didn't seem so over whelmed but still not playing together like I thought.... but in a couple of weeks Riley is going to come stay with us to break the ice with my girls
Stormy they are all yorkies... Wily and Tily on the left (we lost Tily last year)... those are Michele's two and dad & mom.... then Jily & Lily on right... my two
Awwww, poor little guy. I'm sure he'll warm up once he gets used to everyone. Just takes time. The cat that I took off my daughter's hands still hides in one bedroom and hisses viciously at my other cat whenever she comes near her. It's been 7 months, but the hissing gets a little shorter and less vicious every month. whoo hoo.
hmmm...an iced cold beer after a day in the garden. Now that sounds delicious! I love German beer. My favorite is Hofbrau Hefe Wiezen. It's an import from Munich. It is the closest thing to the beer that is brewed in my families home town in Bavaria that does not export.
Allison - Riley is adorable! My favorite of the shots is #4! I wouldn't be surprised about his reticence to play just yet. I recall when I rescued Molly at 5 months while Hank had our golden, Cody, in the Adirondacks. I went home to our CT house with Max, our other rescued Bichon and Molly, and when Hank came in with Cody, Molly freaked. We still call it our Jurascik Park moment. Cody freaked when Molly freaked and they just froze. She had never seen a big dog before. Within an hour she was willing to get within a foot of him and within a number of days, they were best friends forever. We lost Cody and Max when they were 15 and Molly was 10, and she was so lost and grieved deeply for them. What a happy addition to your adorable Yorkie clan. Please congratulate Michelle on her adoption!
OMG! What a face on Riley! Terminally cute! Coincidentally, I encountered a 5 mo. old yorkie last night--He stole my heart!
Anita, I'll have to see if hubby has tried that.
Been taking Wall-e to training and they have the dogs on "place" boards...it could be anything large enough for them to sit up but they have raised and close the ground built stool looking things. Wall-e was on a 12" X 36" high one and the trainer placed his personal dog next to him...Wall-e didn't even notice the dog was there because he was concentrating on me. When he finally noticed he just sniffed her and turned around...what a good dog!
Found a pic of the dogs on the boards
Allison, what an adorable little puppy!!! Congrats Michelle!
Jen, that's great about Wall-e. which one is he?
My son graduated last night, yeay!!
His major was in New Media Publishing, minor - Communications/Advertising/Public Relations, and then some courses in business media. He interviewed and was offered a job at the end of the interview for a graphics company in NYC. He is stressing about making a decision, already accepted a 6 month co-op at the college with a probable job offer for a company out of state at the end.
Here we are:
Congrats! Nice pics.
Thanks Jumper - forgot to mention my son is David.
WOOHOO!!! Congrats on the graduation. Big decisions for him.
Congrats Deb to you and son, what an accomplishment!!! How nice to be offered so many wonderful oppertunities, good luck to him and his future!!
Great pictures BTW
CONGRATS! Tell him to think about it and do what he thinks will make him happy, not what necessarily earns the most money. If he loves what he does, he'll never work a day in his life. I love that expression, it's just so difficult to apply to real life.
Hey, we're going to have to start a "Mom's Rule but Dad's Are Considerably Cool Too" thread pretty soon
Exactly so, dads ARE cool (especially step-dads).
Congratulations to everyone, and Deb, don't look at all like you just stepped out of a garden -- you clean up real nice!
Congrats, Deb, to you parents and to David! Good advice given above! It is exceptional to have good choices to make in this economy! That's wonderful! Very nice photos!!
Congrats to David, Deb! You guys must be real proud.
Beauty!
Wall-e has a beautiful, sensitive face!!!
A wonderful occasion, graduation! Happy for you & David, Debi! Nice dog photos---the Yorkies & Wall-ee both. I spent the last few days with my DHs family---they have a 7 month old tri-color collie named Ritz---very sweet & playful & I missed my 2 less---can't pick them up from 'camp' until Tues. morn---the house feels sooo empty!
Thanks everyone! Well, I think he is leaning towards NYC, though I am a little surprised. I told him tonight he can't really make a bad decision, and if he doesn't like it, he'll come back and try something else.
We just got back from dinner, and I pulled a small twig out of the back of my hair, so I don't know about cleaning up well!
Bird making a nest?
