Today's Weather in Your Garden - 45

I love that blue poppy!!! Kayte save some seeds pleaze!!!!

It poured last night - oh well rain, rain and more rain. Might see some sun Saturday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Overcast and 55. Lots of rain overnight.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Monday it raind most of the day, half a day rain on Tues., half a day rain on Wed. and today it will prob. pour all day. I really need to mow the lawn but it won't be dry enough for the next week!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have 2.6 inches in the gage. So much for my complaint yesterday! Sun is peeping out now.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

We've got some soaking rains going on today. The plants don't look too badly water-logged, but may if we get too many more of these raindrops.

Currently:
Cloudy and rain
47°
Wind: NNW at 3 MPH
Humidity: 87%
Dewpoint: 46°
Pressure: 30.08 in. and steady

The forecast calls for some possible clearing this afternoon. If it does, I hope I can get outside before the black flies wake up. The evening hours call for more rain. But the weekend should be pretty nice! There's something to look forward to!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That's quite a bit of rain, Victor. Do the gardens look OK?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - they look fine.

South Hamilton, MA

Rain again, I don't like wet iris flowers & walking through wet grass.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Good to hear, Victor.

Iris ~ I absolutely abhor wet grass!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Katye, is this what it feels like to live in the PNW? We had thunder and lightning last night. Currently 66 and overcast. I thought it ws supposed to get nice today!!!?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

poured here too - glad i went out and zipped up the cold tent the veggy plants are in last night!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Crazy crazy weather today. 6-8am we had some blue skies and sun so I was thinking "Yeah, maybe a nice day" boy was I wrong keeps going from light cloudy to dark cloudy but no rain, gets cold then warm, wind picks up and then goes still...very weird!!!
68
Thunderstorm last night knocked out the power for 1 minute

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Woke to dense fog. It is now sunny and about 60. Supposed to get more rain Fri. and Sat., clear on Sun. I think we all have had enough of the rain for now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sun is out here now. 70.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Hope that will dry you out a bit. We don't want you all to float away.

South Hamilton, MA

Ha Ha J-2 We aren't floating, but certainly are frustrated.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Well it's 73 and pouring. Heard thunder a little bit ago. I was counting on being outside today.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Getting cloudy again here. Been waiting to spray a couple of trees now since last weekend! Very annoying.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Just starting to rain here again

Suns trying to break through but dont have enough umph

South Hamilton, MA

Sun came out about 4 o'clock when it was too late to do any gardening.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

thunderstorm, rain, sun, clouds, rain, sun, rain, raining while it's sunny.
This has got to be the wackiest weather EVER!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

We had the exact same thing here, Jen. Probably a little earlier than you. the sun is shining brightly now. ^_^ and feels kinda steamy.

Thomaston, CT

Hiked on the Appy Trail this morn---very disappointed at the lack of bird species---usually see around 30---today 14, & only 4 warblers species. The Housatonic River was really raging----the sun came out, it was steamy, then it got cloudy----I was spreading mulch this pm, & the showers began again!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Must have been nice by the river, Robin. Tonight was the cub scouts rocket night!

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Saw my first hummer although my DBF saw them 3 days ago. What warblers did you see. Been hearing black throated greens around here lately.

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Ummmm... I seemed to have lost SPRING.
Has anyone seen it?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah for about 2 hours yesterday

:)

52 now going up to 75... thunderstorms today

I had a male hummer last week and yesterday I saw 2 males and a female. Going to get some petunias this morning as there is no flowers for them here yet - or at least that I know of.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Looks like a fine day in beautiful downtown Wheatfield, NY. There is some sun, birds are singing. I was able to work in my rose garden yesterday even though it rained part of the day. I started working in a small bed in the front yard, but it was TEEMING with JB grubs and totally grossed me out. I applied milky spore last year, but I know I have to be patient with it. I thinking about getting some nematodes.

Still need to get my hummer feeders out. They are going to forget that I am here. :0(

East Bridgewater, MA

What's that glowing yellow-white orb in the sky???

Oh-mi-gosh, it's the sun!

Someone cue the animal wrangler and tell him the critters can disembark from the ark.

(57 degrees, no wind, ground still sopping wet.)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes! Finally, a clear day. 59 and sunny.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

That orb is pretty nice. It keeps going in and out here. Thunder early this moring, now the sun is out. They call for this all day. I wish it would make up it's mind.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

THE SUN!!!!!! ooo I shouldn't yell too loudly I might frighten it.
Whispering...finally...look blue skies. 70
high of 77 expected
calling for "severe" storms tomorrow
as soon as I can get away from the desk I'll be outside doing some planting and digging for next weeks swap.

Thomaston, CT

It was sunny & and 70's! It hasn't rained today---yet----thunderstorms predicted for here about midnight---oh, joy. And it was nice walking by the river---except I picked up a tick ---don't want to say where---and had to go to doctor today---he said some 'body parts' were still in there, & he had to take them out!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

EWWWWWW!!!!!!! Sorry about that! EWWWWWW!!!!

Finally a whole day without rain. woo hoo!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

In the river or in you??

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

I was going to rave about blue sky until I looked out the window, and oh yippy skippy - here comes another large front.
Grey clouds, you know, the saturated grey that brings one thing to mind: rain.

It's 52° with a light breeze - not t-shirt weather.

Dog gone it! I stimulated the local economy by a healthy visit to a nursery last night, so there are many plants to get in the ground!
I need a break here.....dry is good; dry & warm is better.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

which parts? teeth & lips? ewwwwww

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm glad I don't have tick problems here. I haven't seen one in ages, I guess I haven't been in their right places.
