East Bridgewater, MA

Rain and clouds, go away,

My seedlings need some sun today.

(Is this what they get for weather in Seattle?)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

More gloom. 52.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I guess I take this rain over the wicked(and not in a MA good way) storms they are having in the south.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

54 and cloudy, but supposed to clear and close to 70.

Hi BA_6A, I don't think I've seen you post before. In case I missed it - Welcome from south Jersey. Enjoy this forum, this is a great bunch!

East Bridgewater, MA

Thanks, Jan23, I'm an older, casual gardener; there are some really knowledgable gardeners, including some serious specialists, here at DG. I should've joined this site years ago, for the tremendous wealth of information, and the friendly folks as well ;)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hi BA and welcome!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Welcome BostonArea_6A, you'll get addicted real fast!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hi ba, welcome

South Hamilton, MA

Welcome Boston 6a from north shore 6a. We needed the moisture & my SDB seedlings seem to be staying closed. Ran out in the twilight Sun night & grabbed some pollen. DH complained the grass is wet & went to get a haircut.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Welcome BA!!!!!!!!!

East Bridgewater, MA

Thanks, everyone! What a friendly bunch! I guess we all have 2 things in common: we all love plants, and we all live in the famous "changeable weather" of the Northeast.

Coffee tastes a little better in the morning when there are blooms to look at, even if it's on the computer, and someone from zone 10, lol!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Bill, I'm so glad you survived the excursion!

Welcome to the 'family', BA!! Be aware ... we tend to 'grow' on you (pun intended, of course)

Today is gloomy with peeks of sunshine. Perhaps we will have more sun later on today. I'm looking forward to watching everything burst forth with great joy in the garden.

Currently:
Cloudy
50°
Wind: NNW at 3 MPH
Humidity: 87%
Dewpoint: 46°
Pressure: 30.08 in. and steadying

We'll have some more showers overnight. I like it when it rains at night. It's so calming.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

60's and overcast. We have more rain coming. I have azalea starting to bloom as well as SDB's out.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sun trying to make an appearance. 60 and overcast. Annoying that with all these rainy, yucky days, we have not gotten that much rain!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hey Jumper thanks! the sun is actually peeking.

South Hamilton, MA

Daffodila going past, wet dwarf iris in bloom. high 40s at the moment.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

It has started to rain here. It's also cooling down some.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ok that was short lived sun is now gone. Nice while it lasted.

Thomaston, CT

We saw some sun---yahoo---I took the dogs for a walk---now it's cloudy again----don't need more gloomy days---May is supposed to be the Queen of the months.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

No matter what the weather, May is my favoritist month!

South Hamilton, MA

Sun came out so took seedling pictures. Could not do crosses as pollen was wet as were the flowers.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

BA - quite right about Seattle. We had rain yesterday, rain today, rain tomorrow. Pretty much raining until July. yay.
This is what I look at in lieu of blue skies:

OOOHHHHHHHHHHH Blue Poppy! I've had no luck growing from seed...may have to brreak down and buy the plant. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It's such a deep blue! It's gorgeous!

East Bridgewater, MA

Katye, please save that photo!

The lighting, and detail on the bloom, are exquisite!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I agree, it's gorgeous!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - great shot, Kate - especially with the red JM nearby.

Thomaston, CT

I've never seen one growing---just beautiful!

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Meconopsis are not easy from seed - need some stratification.
I have this one - 'Lingholm', one surviving betonicifolia, 3 nepaulensis and a spicatum, which is melon colored. They can grow well here, but a wee bit fussy.
I feel very satisfied seeing Lingholm bloom - it's the same blue that our sky is SUPPOSED to be.

boy did I have a bad sleeping night... it stinkin poured last night... another week I am very happy for the sub-pump we installed!.... we have an urban & small stream flood advisory... sounded like a hurricane last night... and we are not done with the rain yet

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Pouring in western MA too. I broke down and planted the Saxton dls that arrived yesterday and won't have to water them! Hope they won't float away.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no kidding... good luck to the newbies!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

We've gotten about a 1/2 inch overnight, a light, gentle rain here, I still walked the dog in it.
