It's 52 & cloudy---dropped my car off for servicing, & walked home----took me 45 min. & I enjoyed it except for the last hill.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 45
We'll get our rain tomorrow, I hope.
Glad you had a nice time with the wifey, Victor. I love that lantern, too. Not really my taste, but I like it.
It's supposed to be rather raw here tomorrow.
Thin clouds, which will build into thicker clouds by the end of the day. The forecast is for rain tomorrow at some point. That's good, because some of our smaller gardens need some moisture. They weren't too bad when we worked outside this weekend as the soil was still a bit damp, but I worry that it's not enough, so around I go with a watering can! Yeah. I'm looking for that rain!
Currently:
59°
Wind: 0 MPH
Humidity: 57%
Dewpoint: 44°
Pressure: 30.05 in. and falling
I think we can keep the container gardens outside all week long, as the forecast is not calling for frost any night. I'll still be keeping an eye on that, though. It's only the beginning of May. We can still get a frost or two.
Hills can be murder! I wish they only went one way!
60 here. Its a little breezy so it feels a little cooler(2 blocks from Lake Erie) At least I have sun.
Damp, chilly and wet 54
59 and raining lightly.
Another lingering myth - the moon has zero to do with frost. Nice-looking plants, Kathy!
I secretly think they are a bit crazy but these are educated people in the garden industry, not just locals!
Having worked with many PhD's and post-docs, I feel I can say with some authority and education does not equal 'smarts'!!
Scroll down for info on full moon and frost.

We use Mother's Day as our guide.
Me too.
Did some weeding. Man the lake breeze makes it feel colder! Did about an hour, the hands gave out. I've gat the garlic chives almost under control, not to mention the grass.

TODAY:
Cold.
Rainy.
Miserable.
Yucky.
BLECH!
Love those meteorological terms, Nancy!
Cool article, no pun intended. I read Mary Motes book "Orchid Territory" and she describes watering orchids for the night in greenhouses during a freak FL freeze. I had never heard of doing that till I read it. I weeded for 8 hours on Sat and today. And I'm not done. Why did I make so many gardens?????
51 now... going up to 57... more rain today... swimming already!
Raining here too.
DITTO 52 now
54 and overcast. Another crappy day.
Ark is being built as we speak.
lol

I guess I could have just said, "DITTO!"
:o(
Nancy
I'll say ditto---Victor, if we have frost on the 9th, you owe us a JM!
Love it, Nancy! You are most accurate in describing today's weather! I love that Ark idea, too, Jen and Sherrie. Guess I'd better get mine started.
So far we have received just a taste of rain. Overnight, there was hardly any moisture falling to speak of, and by 10 AM, pretty much everything, like the walkways, was dry again. The forecast does call for more rain off and on for the next few days, which is badly needed in our area. So, if you'd like, you can send us some of your extra raindrops.

The skies are darkly overcast which makes it feel very damp and raw outside. I went out for just a few minutes to check the back hill garden. We have flower buds on the coreopsis that Allison gave me a few autumns ago! Very exciting!
Yep! Got the wood stove going this morning to knock off the damp and chill.
Oh, and we usually use Memorial Day around here as a way to gauge the last frost if the season.
60 sunny and less breezy. We have rain in the forcast for the next few days.
Can you send that sun this way, please?
I'll try. Ihope it works out for you. Don't want anyone to float away!
Hee hee - if we do, it will have as much to do with the Mets pitchers stinking as it will the full moon, Robin!
Red sox won anyway last night in spite of rain delay. Raining here & we need it, fire danger way up & soil very dry. Ran our after dinner last night & collected some pollen off dwarf seedlings. Safely in the fridge.
cold and clammy here - went down to my old man's house in carver and power washed his deck and shed in a deluge - figured i was going to get wet anyway.
What a sweet person you are, Bill!
I think that some of my plants are actually liking this cool mist and drizzle. They are perking up a bit.
Candyce in all honesty my sil started this little annual spring clean up for my father who is 2 hours away from me (only 1 for my brother) and three for my sister - i went with my sister today and we complained the whole trip down - she had refrigerator clean up and did not take my advice to get a tetanus booster shot - glad we helped out and that it is over - hope i don't end up with swine flu!
sweet and sour i guess:)
Don't think the swine flu (we're not supposed to call it that now - someone must have been offended) can survive 2500 PSI!!
Waiting for rain here, enjoying the nice weather, but need rain!
