Garden Photos of '09.... #15
wow beautifull blooms red love the blue one that looks like a rose that is an amazing bloom
wow cant wait for my garden to fill in everything is coming up in about a month or so everything should start to bloom and the leaves will fill the trees and everything will be green again
Looks good Bill! Did you get any plums last year?
i did get plums or i should say the tree did - and the tree rats ate them - this tree produces yellow and purple plums that ripen about 3 weeks apart. i will search for a net to drape over it and i just threw out the latest miller nurseries catalog
Thanks, Jen, Robin and Victor for the i.d.'s!
Victor, I'm amazed at your bee photos - they're wonderful! You must have a great camera! (Don't tell me what kind, because it wouldn't mean anything to me, LOL!)
Allison, the heat was getting to my plants, too. I actually had to water a perennial foxglove yesterday because it was drooping! Oh, I'm jealous of your grosbeak! Haven't seen one around here for years.
Nice photos! Loved the coral bark maple, Bill, & the blue flower of yours, Shelley----Allison---I love the rose-breasted grosbeaks---had a pair nest here 2 years ago, & got to see 1 baby----he wasn't very colorful, but was definitely going to be a male. Tiarella is starting to bloom---hope I can get a shot later.
Lovely pictures everyone!!
Allison those bird shots are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Sue!

Yes sigh it's been snowing on and off all week so far but nice today and supposed to be luvly by the weekend.
I feel for you northern NE gardeners and dahlianut who is one of our Western NE gardeners. Spring will come, promise. I came home from our New Orleans trip to a yard full of blooms. So many. Too much wind to do them justice. But here are some. Enjoy.
But first I must tell onewish1, that I am beyond jealous of your Rose-breasted grosbeak and all your bleeding hearts and your Hosta Hook.
Victor, great shots of that bee, plus you sure can capture maple leaves and buds of everything so well. Love your Fothergilla and wish mine was blooming. But it is a tiny plant still. But I see that Wha's small one is blooming so I have hope.
redchic01 that shot of the Japanese maple Chishio Improved is stunning as are those lewisia.
Glad to see Pixie has no snow and lots of blooms.
Robindog, that cherry tree scene is so serene. I have no cherry trees. Does that one have edible fruit?
Some yard scenes from Nantucket. Patti
Thanks, Patti. Your tulips are exquisite.
Beautiful Patti, how was your trip?
Flowerjen, The trip was fabulous. Didn't see as much of our DS as we would have liked, but we traveled down some bayou's and ate beyond well and went to Jazz fest and heard some great musicians. We had several amazing meals compliments of the kid at Cuvee, the restaurant where he is the chef. I will post some pic, if they came out. They are on our little camera which I need to download.
And the weather was perfect, as was the spot I rented on a rooftop in the Warehouse district for beyond cheap through craigslist. I sent our DS up to check it out and he said we would love it. We have reserved it again for next year! Collage of the view from our pad. We had a studio on the roof of this fancy condo building. It had been a pool house at some point. Our door can be seen behind the table in the second pic on the top. The view of the bridge is what we saw from our windows and door. Almost no one ever came up there while we were there and the few that did where very nice. The building was in the area where all the art galleries are so it was a nice area too. Patti
Beautiful bulbous grouping Patti!
