Thanks, Celeste. The purple ones have been open for about ten days around here. I don't have any.

Wow Victor you have so much blooming already!
I put all my pictures in my DG Diary, it is so much easier for me because I forget too much when I am posting on the forums. Plus I am really bad and add all my pics at once, which I'd feel like a big hog doing here. lol I added so many! : ) So any whoo, I wanted to share them here. Here is a link http://davesgarden.com/community/blogs/t/Meredith79/9246/

Love the cornus, Victor! Usually I'm not a fan of variegated plants, but that one really works. Shelley---I'm drooling over the Lewisias---had them one summer----planted in sandy gravel by the roadside---but none overwintered. There's a great nursery in western Mass---Ward's---that's whereI got them, & I'm headed back up there in a couple of weeks---I'll try again. Here's the maroon vinca, but it looks too purple in the photo---it's really much redder.

And the heat brought out my very late magnolia---I'm glad it did---usually the leaves are out & it spoils the look.

Nice pics Robin! I'm glad that you're trying again with the Lewisias. There's a link over on another thread that I hang out on that has some interesting planting information on lewisias, if you would like 'll find it and post it here. A friend of mine has a fantastic little colony of lewisias all started by two plants about 6 or 7 years ago. She's really not a gardener, but she likes to plant stuff, if that makes any sense? maybe her husband will water, maybe not. Anyhow, she planted her lewisias in a pile of 50/50 loam and sand, fertilized, and away they went! She has 10 or 12 of them now and has weeded several (accidentally).

Victor.... great pics of the C. 'Golden Shadows." It's one of the few sericea/stolonifera types that I've ever thought interesting enough to bring home. Mine's tiny, in fact, I should probably go hunt for it and make sure that it hasn't been over run by a black berry. Love the tulips and what is the super cute daffy? If I manage to make headway on the yard work this season I'm going to try to plant some more bulbs, taking the time and effort to protect them better this time though.

The clematis is montana 'pink perfection.' It will be pinker in a couple of weeks. I agree, Chishio can't be improved any more!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Robin and Shelly. I will check on the daff.
