Hey LK

You can peek at it whenever you want, just let me know & I'll email it to you. The co-op was all mailed on Fri except 2 packages-1 of which will go out on Mon and the other on Wed.

The garden is awakening and I have a lot of stuff coming up. I am not anticipating anything new this year. If I find a job and have a little $$ I might get some more iris or lilies, but that is about it.....

HI girls

yep I am around as you know just been busy workin in the yard some putting out seeds, moving some seedlings around and trying to figure out what to put where if I plant more ...LOL..and I will

yesterday regional bus rodeo and we had 3 drivers go down and then 4 of us went as judges
talk about a mess ...not enough judges but the thing was to start at 8am and didn't get started until after 9 when the drivers took the written tests at which time someone in charge should have come and gotten with the judges and went over the scoring and such but that didn't happen
there were only 4 teams for special ed and since there wasn't' enough judges they only drive 4 things on the driving course and we wanted to get them done so they could help as judges but the guy in charge didn't do that so we had to wait and didn't get done til after 1 on the driving course but I am happy to report that the driver I worked wtih last week came in first place on conventional bus ...whooo hooo.....
.the gal that drove transit came in third but there were only 3 drivers for transit and the special ed team came in second
so they all get to go to the state rodeo if the district will pay for it.
and I will be busy again working with my first place gal so she is ready for the state rodeo as it is a totally different atmosphere and she will need to practice alot more and get real comfy wtih doing the course.

I've also decided that if I plan on advancing any I am going to have to take my money and join the TAPT Texas Association Pupil Transportation then I can take classes they offer to further my "education" in the school bus transportation area cause it is not going to happen otherwise in this district sadly to say.

anyway just had to pop in and tell ya the exciting news that my girl won and I am alive and kickin LOL...keepin ya all in my thoughts and prayers

Good Afternoon!!!

Whew I am tired! I need to plant a few things but we helped my next door neighbors with putting mulch in their flowerbeds yesterday and we are sore sore sore lol! Glad to get the exercise but really need to get out there.

Jaye that sucks about your computer. I almost got a virus or worm, I think it was the worm also, this morning. This unknown anti-virus popped up on my screen saying I was infected with all of this crap. I clicked on the X numerous times and closed everything associated with it and ran my McAfee Anti-virus, which came up clean, my Ad-Aware showed one malicious program (which I think was it) so I quarantined that, and I'm running my Spybot STOPzilla now. We'll see what it comes up with.

I need to get outside and plant some Gladiola's I bought the other day. bbl.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Fairy can you give us a hint about your book?

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Barb-it's a love story.....is that hint enough?? Or do you want more??

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

More of course!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL. It is about a girl that is like 20 and she lives with her mom. They move every couple of years as her mom likes to try different cities and business adventures. They end up in the bayou running a fan boat tour business where she meets a hunk. Of course there is never ending drama and a little romance. The girl is very insecure (even though she is pretty) and continually tries to push him away but he is determined.........

Raleigh, NC

Fairy girl, that sounds just like a story you would fall in love with! LOL

sorry - a bit headachy today, and neck sore enough to put back on my neckbrace. oh well. started it out weeding in garden - got an area about 5x2 done before I gave out in this heat. check out these irises!

this is one of my irises that never got planted. it was dumped bareroot out, to be counted and classified, out atop the mulch on the white daffodils. labeled the photo "not planted but blooming"

Bonnie how are the dizzies????

Raleigh, NC

well, until today, I've not had any for a week. Today, I can't tell though, if it's dizzies or the leftover headache from the soccer ball - or possibly a sinus infection, as it's the season and I'm sneezing, dripping nose, and post nausal drip.

should have a call back with neurology appt. tomorrow.

hey, ya'll. I'm going to be helping my TX friend for next three days in court here. so you may not hear from me. a guy rearended their car in 2006, and the bump they took caused her to need rotator cuff surgery. the insurance co is fighting having to pay for it. I was the one replacing her because she was not fit to work, so I have to go hold her hand AND testify. I HATE testifying. HATE it with PASSION. but here I go in the morning. and Mom needs to go to doc, she can't walk for the pain she's having. will be busy days. before and after court, I'll be hybridizing.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I hate Court........And I more than hate Insurance Companies.

Raleigh, NC

when I got divorced, spent most of 4 days on witness stand getting hammered by the defense. (I was plaintiff) I mean HAMMERED. no holds barred. no lie to vile, no insinuation to dirty and ugly. every which way trying to prove I was lying about something.

many years later, had to sue a Florida firm for non-payment. Had to literally go through having their COO (chief officer of operations) screaming at me, had their inhouse counsel threatening me, in front of a judge mediator. then I had to go back and fight over custody twice more in court. nope. court and I don't like each other.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, a busy day here. dad and I went for along ride today, just out and about in the hill country. I was looking for a souvenier shop to get some garden trinkets, but the were all closed, so just about two blocks down the road, was a new nursery opened, soooo we turned in, and came home with some new hibiscus plants. Don't know where they are going yet, but some real pretty reds, and yellows, a pink one. I will get pictures of them in the morning.

Stacey, Send me the story please? I would love to read it!

Bon, good luck in court. I don't think anyone likes court, not even a little bit!

Good night everyone!

LK

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh my goodness, Stacey, what a tease!!!! Please send to me too. I'll dmail my email okay? Can't wait to read it. Hugs to you Barb

Bonnie-it is the kind of story I like too!!LOL I had a dream that will essentially be the end of the book and my mind started to backfill to the beginning. I have pretty much the whole thing in my head, so it has been buggin me to get on paper. I can't seem to type fast enough!!LOL

I wrote about another 35 pages this weekend, would have been more, but I broke my computer chair on Friday, so I am in a folding chair right now. I used the $$ I made from my short story and about $10 out of our checking acct and ordered one online. Can't wait for it to get here. Friday night I was sitting here and went to roll backwards forgetting I was in a reg chair and almost fell-I laughed-I swear, sometimes I am not all that bright.

I made a playlist of various music on youtube that I listen to as I sit here and write away in the am B4 I start looking for reg jobs and some more freelance work. I really do need to get outside today to do a little clean up. Then I want to do the rest on Wed since we are supposed to get rain tues which will make the weeds easier to get up...

Thanks for the support on the book. I am still waiting for Auntie M to let me know what she thinks and see if she wants the rest emailed to her. I expect reports from Barb and LK too......

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Stacey, it's so good to see back with us again. And being your silly little self. I would love to read your book too.

I have been spending so much time looking down, by working on these polymer critters that I've got such a neck ache that has also caused a headache. I won't be on here much today need to rest my neck and head so I can help my mom with the bowling banquet Tuesday night. So...................................

TTYL ^_^

Let me know when you have time and I'll send it along

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

We made it home last night safe and sound... but it was midnight, and we were so exhausted we went right to bed.
There's a bad storm bearing down on us right now, so I can't write much about our trip... will do that later. There's tornado spurring out of this storm, so I'm shutting down.

Haven't read anything, so I have no clue whats going on.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Praying for in the area,BE SAFE BJ!!!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Bj, glad you made it home, go get some rest, and let us know later how your trip went.
Please be safe in that storm!

I have a question for you all. In my new Angel garden, I have all these tiny mushrooms that pop up every morning. Does anyone kow what they are, are they harmfull, what can I do to stop them?
I have several coleus cuttings out there, I want to plant, and I need to know if it will hurt them?

I wanted to ask if any of you have a sewing machine that has any Easter embroidery on it? I have this set of 4 place mats that are pink with blue edges that I put on my table for Easter and would love to have a little something on the corner of each one.....

Sorry LK-no clue on the shrooms. Usually when I get them in my front beds it is after we've had too much rain and the ground is too moist. I usually just hack off the tops and they seem to go away.....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yea, I have issues with court also. My aunt sued me and my mom, even though I was the beneficiary of my grandfather's will, my mom was executor, for everything from the house to the all mighty buck. She got pretty much everything except for the house and money, which I'm sure the judge would have given her that too if my name wasn't already on them. No fun!

Stacey that sounds like a good one! Great to have you back!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No embroidery machine here Stacey. I wish I had one, maybe someday?

LK

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

BJ, be safe and check in when you can...
We are supposed to get back to rain this week.....I want summer!!!! Right now it gray and cool out.

Stacey we are all so excited to read your story!!

Cindy,l want to see all of your Geeky Critters....and don't forget to put them on the Polymer Thread.....

Sorry LK, no clue on the mushrooms.........

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, Ladies... you've had a chatty weekend, I see. I haven't read everything... but I take it you've all been busy.

Mike and flew to Denver on Friday, and arrived at our hotel about 1:00. Meetings didn't start for me until 4pm, so Mike and I started walking around downtown. We discovered that we were only about 2 blocks away from 16th St Mall... which, is nothing but stores and restaurants the full length of 16th street... about 12 blocks. Mike joined us for our dinner in the conference room that evening, along with 2 other AFS students that attended with their host parents. Was good for him that he had someone to hang out with while I was in meetings.
Saturday was meetings all day, 8am - 6pm... was the first assembly for the National Volunteer Assembly Delegates... and we decided on, and voted on bi-laws, and description of purpose for the assembly. This body of 75-125 people will be the voting body to decide on decisions that govern the National Council of AFS. Was very interesting, and a bit overwhelming at times, but I think I grasped most of it, and I met a lot of great people associated with AFS.
Saturday, we were free to have lunch and dinner at some of the wonderful restaurants on 16th street... Lunch was at Earls with 3 other volunteers from other Texas area teams, and Mike joined us... a really nice place. Dinner was at Hard Rock because Mike had never been there... he bought the t shirt. Was Prom night, so there was a lot of beautiful formals, tuxedos, colorful spiked hair, and laughter there.
We wrapped up the meetings Sunday morning, and had lunch at the conference room. Our key note speaker was one of the original AFS founders... 92 year old former ambulance driver in WWII.

Our flight was scheduled for 5:10 yesterday evening... got to the airport and they had canceled that flight, and was filling up the 3 remaining flights to go out last evening. Mike and I got the last two seats left on the 6:45 flight, and they were in 1st class... arrived at the airport around 10:30, and we got home just before midnight... needless to say, he didn't go to school this morning... he got up, I asked him if he wanted to blow it off, and he proceeded to go back to bed... I didn't blame him.

I was asked this weekend to take a more active part in helping our area team director to build the East Texas Team. I accepted. So, I'm going to be more and more busy with AFS in the coming months... right after I find out what exactly that means.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey BJ, sounds like you had a busy, and fun filled week-end.
I have never been to Denver, or in a hard rock cafe!
Are we going to have another fat quarter swap before you get too busy?

LK

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow BJ, your conferences are like my conferences, except I don't have to fly anywhere. Busy busy busy.

What's a fat quarter swap? lol
