Playing with ones seeds and gardening under lights just doesn't make it for me either. I like outside too. This morning I spent an hour of so doing some weeding in the back beds. I have yet to go out front where there are plenty things needing attention. I have loads of pots on front deck which I plan to sow some seeds in. I need to prepare the soil first though.
I had to come inside and take a break before I did anything in the front. Hopefully the sun will be headed towards the back before I get out there too. It is very warm today!!! I feel as though I am three weeks behind in gardening chores. For the first two weeks that it was warm enough to get outside, I was having achy leg problems. As soon as that began to feel better, the week of rain showed up. It seems almost like a losing battle. I will not surrender though. I will catch any time here or there that I can and do what I can in that time period.
I was just thinking that after the swap, my workload will be double or triple. LOL Oh well. I have a good time doing most things.
The weekend is almost here. I hope that everyone will have a good and productive one.

Swap Chat III Ric & Holly's
Ruby--That is why i am VERY frugal in asking for new plants from people at any Swap.....I KNOW that it will be hard to find a spot for any of them.....
Maybe when all the bulb foliage has dried up some spots will open up! Hope...hope.....
I am inside right now also-- to take a break...My back really suffers after a couple of hours of bending over to do everything....Bummer! Just have to live with it--having had both my knees replaced---NOT allowed to kneel!...can't rightly squat either.....
Funny how everything gets done, though,--NO MATTER WHAT!
OK! Have now had a good hour's break "playing" on DG. Gotta get back outside and plug away!!!!
Gita
I put in an hour or so this morning and an hour or so this afternoon, so I am calling it quits for the day. I know about aching backs. No fun at all. Another couple of hours weeding the large bed that runs the length of the front deck and then I will almost be finished weeding and cleaning debris from the beds that I am sort of in charge of here. John has large stands of beds on the outer borders of our property and I do not venture out to any of them. He isn't much on weeding too very much, so his weeds and plants co-exist.
I will consider it a job well done if we get the things that are currently waiting to be either potted or go in the ground before we come to Pennsylvania and stock up again.
Wind, the plants that you sent to me via my niece last summer are all thriving. Several are in pots and a some are in beds in the ground. Everything looks really good, so one or the other of us did something right with them. LOL For those who don't know, or have forgotten, I was privileged enough to visit Wind's home a few years back and tour her gardens. I was in awe and actually embarrassed myself because all I could say was, "what is this, what is this?"
Many of Gita's extra plants have made their new homes here too. Several Begonias and a very nice pot of Swedish Ivy. There may be other things that are slipping my mind at moment. Actually much of my garden has come from other members of Dave's either at swaps or through the mail. Sally has gifted me with some of the most impressive plants in my garden, several Canna's. Holly was responsible for two pots of Ornamental Sweet Potatoes that were so lovely last year.
Oh my gosh, I can't forget Becca who let John come in last fall and dig to his heart's delight at her house. Lot of Day Lilies and a Hydrangea are what come to mind, but I am sure there are other things. Chantell, Miatablue,
Hart and I am sure I am missing others that I have traded with over the years. Oh yeah, Critter was responsible for a few of the tomatoes that I ate last summer. Please, no one be offended if I haven't mentioned you as having contributed to the cause. Please point out to me if you can remember giving me anything that I have forgotten to mention here.
Well, tiring out here, so need to scoot along. Have a good one all.
Ruby
Ruby, the plants you gave me are happy campers too :) I've been meaning to tell you the columbine is blooming away.
Happy & Healthy Gardening ^_^
Diana
So, Golfing or no? I added Mark to the "golf anyone " thread
Sally, Paul will be bringing his clubs. I asked Holly in the other thread if it was hard to get on the course without tee times.
Chris
Holy cow - you arriving in an 18-wheeler? LOL
Oh WOW, Is that my Arum in the bottom front?
Yes!!
Wonderful picture Stormy. Makes me feel really behind in getting things together. John has done the work so far in potting things up for those who requested things earlier. I will be in charge of getting the Sweet Woodruff and Burro's Tail together. Haven't decided yet how they will be traveling. I keep getting rained out and the few minutes that I did find over the beautiful weekend were spent mainly pulling weeds.
Yes, it won't be long now. I am psyched!!!
Ruby
If anyone (or multiple people) have some sweet woodruff available to give me, that would be great. I'm a newbie and hate asking for anything b/c I don't have anything to offer, but I'd love some more of this stuff!
Don't feel bad about having things to offer. If you want somethng just ask, dgr's are the best and love to share!
bifdiehl (and others) - this is a very warm - sharing group...I think the rest would say the same - please do not worry about having or not having things to share...there is ALWAYS more plants then takers and no one is keeping track...I promise. Everyone's been where you are and there's no sense buying plants that the rest of us might have extras of - THAT'S the beauty of it...literally!!
LOL crossed posted w/Jen...yeah, just what she said!!

lol, Chantell
Chantell, I picked up a Holy Basil for you at the plant sale yesterday. Boy was it packed! Debbie says Hi y'all and she wishes she could have made it to the swap this weekend.
bifdiehl
If I get a chance, I'll pot up some of my woodruff too. I know when starting a ground cover, you can't have too much. Don't worry about a trade, I'm coming with Critter and Terry and we'll be lucky if there's any room left in the SUV for us after we pack it with plants :)
Bobbie - YOU rock!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I was so bummed this weekend - past a gazillion nurseries but was in a time crunch while doing both jobs and couldn't stop but at one. None there!!! Thank you - thank you!!! Dmail me with the amt - and I'll see ya Sat.!! Can't wait!!!
miatablu - thanks so much!!
I'm looking forward to Saturday - I've never been to a swap!!
This will be a great swap, I know I'll have some plants that were not promised and some that a clump could be divided again. Most of the clumps will be wrapped on wet newspaper and put in an open plastic grocery bag. Easy to grab and go. LOL Husband just bought from HD some large storage boxes so I can pack plants in, he will have to lift them into the trunk, I can't do it.
bifdiehl, glad you are joining us.
Chris
What's Saturday's weather forecast for out there? They are calling for rain here. What's the plan if it rains? Praying it's not going to rain.

We are good weather wise. Looks like sun with a few clouds and in the high 70's.
Wonderful!

Just holler!!!!!!
Gita
Bifdiehl, I just added your name to my list of people who want Sweet Woodruff. I have it growing in several spots, so I have plenty to share. Looking forward to meeting you. This is going to be such a great time together. Won't be long at all now.
Ruby
I'll be there, but sadly I won't be able to bring much with me, just because of a lack of time. Here is a list of what I have. I've been expanding into new beds, so I my list is limited. Let me know if you see anything you'd like.

I'd like one of those Tiarella cordifolias!
You've got it!
Happy, Glad you can come. I would love one each of your Tiarellas, they will be perfect in a spot I have been planing to work on by my watergarden. If you are looking for something let me know I might just have it.
Happy so glad you're coming! I've been wondering where ya been. Just bring yourself, you know that's all you have to do. But if you have time, can I have some of both of the Tiarella? I'll try to throw something in for you I think you might not have too. I think I've given you just about everything I have in my garden, I'm running out :)
Miata, since you're here, I did see your post about tags. I'd be happy with some more hellebores, or we can just see what works out Saturday.
Mike
