TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes M'am..Barb :D

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

99! Yuk, I'm not liking that either, I think it's supposed to be 80 here today. Accuweather says 83. neener neener nee-ner! lol!!

Raleigh, NC

FYI to sisters (none of you old enough to be my aunties, sorry)

I'm up, after another night of going to sleep at 5 am, dressed, ready to eat bowl of cereal, and on my way to doc. just thought all would like to know

BUT - my day after that gets tough. shopping for new eyeglasses, planting irises at my remote location, and picking up my TX friend to drive her to her mamas. so it may be late before I'm back on here.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, so glad to hear you got your yard cleaned up, that must have been a huge chore to do! I have a heart attck, every month when I go to pay for everyone meds! So expensive, even with insurance.
Yep, it is already 69 degrees, so it will be a warm day for sure!

Cindy, so glad to h ear the great results that curves is working for you! Keep it up. I know you were having problems going there for a few days, but look at you now! Great job!!! ^_^

Bon, glad to hear you are going to the Doc. Let us know what he says please?
Take it easy in the garden. You don't need to over do it either.

Bj, how you doing in the yard? No more buring hands I hope! Maybe you got into one of those stinging plants. They can hurt like you know what!

Jaye, Glad to hear your friend is doing OK, Glad the surgery went well!
I went to the chiropractor yesterday, because I had a huge tight knot in my right shoulder blade, going up to my shoulder and my neck. I thought I just slept wrong or something, but he told me I had pulled the muscles that go to the rotator cuff! So I have to hold my arm to my side for the next 5 days, no lifting, no sleeping on it... Geesh, might as well put it in a cast! Anyway, I am taking 800 MG of motrin, and hope it kicks in soon! Ice packs help it too, so I will not be doing too much in the yard, other than watering.

Happy Earth day!

Would probably be better if he did put it in a cast for a week, it wouldn't be so hard to not use it.

Jaye glad your friends surgery went well, still keeping those thoughts going of her having a very quick recovery.

Happy Earth Day!!!!

It's my Anniversary! Woo Hoo!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Stay off the coffee please Bonnie. You don't need extra headaches inducer. Have a good time with your Texan friend.

Ai yi yi!!! LK, how about taping your arm to your side, so this way, it will stay immobile. Jokes aside..
How many times a day for the Motrin. I had to take that for 3 years for my back, the doctor didn't tell me that the side effect when taking it over 6 months, is memory loss! So be careful.

Happy Anniversary Crissy!!

Crissy, I think you already heard of Cindy's surgery. She's Riverland from MidSouth. Sandra (SLCDMS) was with her for the surgery. Thanks for the continued prayers that she be pain free henceforth.

Judy, Judy, Judy!!! I just checked the phone! Sorry I missed your call! We were 'konked' out early and can't hear a thing with the a/c going on in the bedroom! So sorry Sistah!!

Well, Kel's staying home and nursing a fever. I'll be 'flitting' in and out of the house. Got more brugs to plant.

See me later!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, memory loss? I have never heard that one! I have heard about the stomach ulcers it causes, but not memory loss.
Geesh, so many bad side effects from the meds that are supposed to help you!

LK

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I do know Cindy, and I knew that Sandra was going with her. I'm glad she finally got to have this done, she's been wanting it for a long time now.

So THAT'S what's wrong with me!! Too much Motrin! LOL

IB Profen (sp) eats your stomach lining, but I think it takes a lot of IB to do that, I've been taking 600mg pills now and then for years and I'm not having any other problems than I already have.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Memory loss? Explain memory please. Did I have one at some time or another?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

ROF Maid M!!
I was taking 3200 a day, that's when you can't buy it OTC. But I was having circulatory problems too, so it affected me differently.
Already was taking Tagamet then.. so did that help my ulcers?
Still have CRS, but since my heart's repumbed and blood flow continously to the brains I can recall more than I used to. What an expensive way to get these brain cells working!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

And now...I too have CSS (Can't see ****).
Where's my needle threader!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I do agree it was expensive way to do it! I was given Motrin one time and it did such a job on me that it is on my "can't do" list. I got everything on the list it could do up to and including "pink eye". Yes, that is what the pharmacist said: Pink eye? It was there is the smaller than small print.

How is Kel doing today? I am still have some trouble with the ear and balance but at least I am up and able to move around some. Have to go back for a check in a couple of days. Ear problems scare me as I am afraid of losing my hearing but then there are things that could be worse! I don't know if it because we are in such better contact with people all over but it seems to me this has been a really bad year for sinus and ear problems--crud in general.

Back to what I was doing--if I can remember.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh please don't even go there! Have magnifier will thread.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, that is a lot of motrin to take. 3200 per day! Wow! So how did you find out that it causes memory loss? I know it works wonders for the stubborn headaches, but it does not help the knees, and joints like they say. It is supposed to be an anti-inflammatory med.

LK

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Happy Earthday!
Crissy, Happy Anniversary!!
Sage, Happy Birthday!!!!!

You guys aren't being very nice.....:( You get all the nice hot weather...all we have is clouds with showers predicted..........temps in the 50's.

Yippie, Cindy... keep that up and you'll be turning heads when you walk down the street.

We have 89* right now... whew... I've about sweated all I can today...

Got the Bowers in the ground and soaked in.
Got the Blueberries in the ground and soaked in.
Then, Don had to trim some more limbs off the trees that were hanging over the berry vines, and decided while he was at it, he'd take off the dead limbs off the tallow tree. Well, he had me hold the ladder since he was using the extension ladder. One limb was really long, so he took half of it off, the the other half. I was watching where they were falling so I could move out of the way if I had to. Down came the first half, and it missed me... before I could look back up, the second half came down just as I was starting to tilt my head, and it fell right on me. Conked a lump on the forehead and made a bump, skinned my chin up pretty good, and bent my glasses. I went to the ground and couldn't even make a sound... no scream, nothing. Don didn't see me right away because he was looking up for any more that needed trimming. He finally looked down, and hurried down the ladder. The earth was spinning, and everything was fuzzy for a while. I crawled over to the shade while he got me a wet rag from the house... after a bit, I was alright. A couple times, I thought I was going to get a head ache, but it never developed into one. Don got my glasses all straightened out, and I can see fine now. Scared the pee out of me though. And, I've got this ugly skinned up chin.

We're going to Home Depot now for something... can't remember now what he said he needed... but something cool, I'm sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh BJ, are you OK? You need to watch that bump on the noggin!
I bet you will be laughing at it later? But I bet it sure hurts now! Take care.

LK

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Okay so now we add BJ to the dizzy list? That was a sign to slow up for a while--rest. Glad the glasses are straightened out but sorry about the scrapes on the chin.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

BJ how about a suit of armor??? Do they sell that kind of protection there??? Hope you are okay!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's actually a girl I work with who's anniversary is today too, we got married on the same day! How weird is that, and we missed it last year, that's what's more hilarious!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Barb... I'm gonna look for that suit of armor... Actually, I was just telling Don this morning that we haven't had any tragedies or accidents this spring... seems like every year when we get busy outside in the spring, something bad happens. Well... guess I jinxed that... should have kept my mouth shut.

I'm ok... the dizzies left pretty quickly... and I haven't had any ill effects from it the rest of the day. The skinned chin only hurts when I touch it, I think it's going to be blue though, I sort of feel a bruise under the skin ... and the bump on my forehead only hurts when I think about it.

HAPPY B'DAY SAGE!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CRISSY!!!

HAPPY HAPPY KATHY AND PAM!!!

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL, it is almost summer here, I think we skipped the spring!
Todd always says we have two season here, springsummer, and fallwinter.
Bj, glad to hear your doing OK.

LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You are so funnnnnnnnnneeeeee Synda. Not a bad advice there. Football helmet.. hm...wear one with LSU Tigers decal BJ!!

Oops, misexplained myself on the salted duck eggs.
The eggs are hard boiled, unpeeled, then left in brine for a month. The best part are the yolks, so yummy rich.
Hey, this recipe is centuries old. So good when eaten with rice porridge.

Coushatta, LA

Thanks Jaye, you are a sweet heart.

Synda,i wear my rubbers every time i go out there.LOL!!!!!!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Good Girl.........

Raleigh, NC

ok - I'm home taking a break, resting. on my way out the door in a second for Smithfield.

doc tweaked my nose. reminded me he'd sent me for a CAT scan of sinuses to determine problem of dizziness in Sept. I forgot all about it, only remembered he'd said it was probably my meds. now he's sending me to neurologist, because they CAT scanned me in the ER.

my b/p was the highest it's ever been, and he's giving me something new for that. weight is up another 10 lbs. (all that sitting) we talked about me trying to exercise and getting winded so fast. he says to take that very very easy and slow, not to try to get back in shape all at once, listen to my body what it's telling me I can and cannot do.

new glasses are ordered. even at Lenscrafters, it will take 10 days, and I had to forgo a few things, like the antiglare, in order to afford them. frames, got the cheapest they had. didn't even look around.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank the Lord above Bonnie went to the Doctor..............

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Amen Synda.

Where did everybody go? Off for supper?

I've hit and missed reading but I agree with Linda Kay, nice to see Kathy posting again. Feels like the good old days. LOL

Well, Larry wouldn't let the lawn service come this year. So I've tried to mow with a push mower. Ain't no way I'll be able to push mow in the heat of summer. Scott borrowed a friends riding mower and mowed all the yard for me, even the front that I had already mowed. I'm thinking he's going to buy us a riding mower and says he'll do the mowing for us. He's so appreciative of all the money we've spent on him to help him during his ;ow time that now he feels the need to pay back. I told him parents love is unconditional but if he wants to and needs to help us. I can't say anything but thank you!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Go for it Deborah! I don't have very much to be mowed but it can wear you out with a push mower. My son was to repair mine last year as it is self propelled but no, he brought me his instead. Give new meaning to hard to push.

Enjoy your trip to visit your mom. I can only imagine all the pictures you will have of Riley to show.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Take pictures need time Mike gets on the jet skis. He's mom would love them. Sorry 'bout your mishap BJ. I can just picture Don's face when he looked back and you weren't on the ladder. Yikes!

Trisha, I Love you mini garden! The bowl for the pond does look Like Itantian marble tiles . Can you sink the bowl deeper into the ground so the rim is even with the ground? That's the only thing I'd change. The pool is a keeper! The little bird house is cute too. All of it is. Did you make the bench?

Jaye, your blooms are beautiful. I'm wandering what that blueish bloom is? Could it be speedwell?

Would you believe I'm still trying to pull out weeds and refurbish straw? The two front island beds will be history when I get back from mamas. They are just too much for me to handle. I'll leave the crape myrtle's in each one but all the bulbs conflowers daylilies, irises and roses are being pulled out.

I'll check back when all y'all get through eating supper. I'm going to read scripture and drink a cup of coffee and chew a piece of gum.
