I lost a few rhodies and azalea's this year from the brutal winter. I mulched but the snow was deep and just buried them. My JM that I bought last year had some damage on the lower branches from the snow and ice.

oh I have one of those seasonal ponds its called the city is to lazy to fix the ditch so it overflowes and floods a section of my property which is under water for about 9 months of the year lol I am putting together a power point presentation to take to the city soon to inform them that I am charging them for the water storage until they fix the problem
I wonder how that is going to go over lol hahahahah
those are beautifull picture I am getting impatient to see some of my stuff bloom since everything has buds but nothing open yet a couple of days of sun should do it
Ha! All cities seem t have their share of problems, don't they? I like my seasonal pond. We have a cellar that collects water when we get lots of rain, and we keep a sump pump down there to prevent it from flooding. The water drains into the pond and fills it up. It fills up off and on throughout the year, and makes a great place to plant things that like it moist or downright wet. We have a lot of moss around the pond, and I really love the moss, so I'm encouraging it to grow. Here is a shot of the beautiful moss.
