Yea Mary, I like it when the boss gets frustrated at the on-goings. Always interesting to hear everyone else's input too.
Yay! I just sicked my cat on a huge mosquito in here, you know she went after it, caught it, and killed it! What a good girl!!
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today? #100 visit with friends.
Good Kitty!
My cat's too fat to concern himself with mosquito's! Too bad. Watched American Idol tonight...OF course I missed it last week.
I don't have many hopes for the "GM Meetings" of today. He is just not bright enough to realize that we might have some input.
Tubby - That's Funny! Well - You sure have a wonderful attitude about everything! Good for you!
Tater - Should have known you would know about Taters! :)
Sharran - I might have to try that... We have 6 Tomatoes, 5 Peppers, 3 zucchini's and 1 eggplant so far. DH has to work Saturday so not sure what will happen.
DD1 has Play on Thurs/Fri. Her "Bio Mom" is supposed to come to town Fri to watch......but DD1's friends (that I love) are only in play Fri (Cast "B")...so I might just grow some "Kahuna's" and go to the play BOTH nights. (including Thurs because that's when My in-laws can go).
Hugs,
Mary
Mary, you can do it for the kids! Doesn't mean you have to sit with anyone that annoys you, just be there for the kids.
My DD has a friend, Brittney. She has been having such a hard time of late, broke down crying on my shoulder telling me she wished I was her mom. I told her I could ground her too, just as easy as her parents. She broke my heart, said "yes, but I will know you still love me." She is 18 years old.
Tubby, those bone marrow biopsies are horrible. My DD went through those for three years....every 6 weeks bone marrow & spinal...with chemo in the spine. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Modern day medicine has come so far, even in the last 15 years....amazes me.
Well, I looked in the mirror and about scared myself to death....it said "go to bed woman!" LOL
So, off to bed I am going.
Sweet dreams
Debbie
Debbie - You are absolutely right! And re-iterating what "MOM" told me when I "visited her" Saturday.
It's harder to be patient and to be good. But it's the right thing to do....and by golly....I'm gonna try to do the right thing if it kills me.
DD's are already complaining about Bio-Mom calling them left & right....
She is really horrible to them.....
I'll plan to be there Friday if necessary with Flower Bouquets for them after their performances.!
Hugs,
Mary
Flower bouquets were my first suggestion.
Perfect!
Sharran, I was thinking the same thing....flower bouquets! Even if you have to sneak and pick them out of a neighbors garden...not that I would ever do such a thing! (ducking).
And...don't forget the camera. I take pictures of the kids in the plays or at concerts...and give copies to their friendds. Some of them say "thats the only one I have...thanks!"
So, what play is this? Our school just did Thorougly modern Millie, although mine were not in it....it was great.
Debbie
Hey Sharran - YES! Because Bio -MOm will never think of that.....
And even if she does show up....she'll make an $*()#& of herself either way...
LOVE "Thoroughly Modern Millie" but this play is "Dracula".......
I do community theatre a lot and it was always so fun to get the bouquets. I loved it, so did all the others who were in the play.
Dying to know what went on Crissy........
Scanned through but I am not very good company tonight...just got back from the Tuesday night bike ride....thought the exercise would help some but guess I have been off my meds too long.......did enjoy a stop at our favorite bar for dinner...Pear Cider and Smoked Salmon plate with olives and avocado.....
Mouth watering after looking at that plate Trisha and I don't like fish..lol
Will watch Jeff this morning, get to know some of the puppets and have a laugh..
Tubby, were you disappointed with the outcome..another wait..or will they get you in asap..sure hope so..glad JJ is doing ok as well..
Mary, we'll be wanting to see photo's and flowers will make them feel special... alternators can be expensive, more the labor part I think..sometimes it's more cost effective to change vehicles when everything starts to go...
Raining pretty hard here..imagine went to bed minutes after 6pm and slept right until 6am..must have needed it..headache city last night..weather plays a big part of it..won't admit that part of it was being tired...lol
Shar, you can get quite a few potatoes from one piece planted with an eye..yummy, nothing like new potatoes with a sprig of dill on them while cooking..can't wait for fresh veggies...
Better get moving, still want to get another coat of paint on my trim..
Talk later
Tests, tests, tests, - Gee Tubby, can they ever have enough? I'm sure it's the right way to go but sometimes it's like we get nowhere. Glad to hear that JJ is doing okay. My DB had one burst and it wasn't pretty. He was sick for a long time from it. Anyway just do what they need and know we are thinking of you and hoping for a quick resolution. Hugs, Barb
Good morning,
Betty has your rain stopped yet? We had it dry up for a couple hours yesterday, but it is back. They said possible snow mixture tonight! Now the weatherliars are telling us to prepare for an all out heat wave...high 78 to 85 for the weekend...should we believe them?
Dracula play! Wow, better start checking those necks! LOL I guess this all goes with the movie Twilight. The kids will have fun for sure. How many times will you hear "I want to bite your neck" for the next 2 months? LOL
I have meetings this afternoon at school, so I have to get moving and get some things done.
Debbie
Morning everyone.
Cofee is on, help yourself please.
LK
Sure did need that coffee LindaKay..
Debbie, I did see on the weather report, I listen to channel 4 and it's your area..saw the snow flurries and then heat wave..much the same here but no flurries, just cold and damp..good news is we'll be in shorts on the weekend...good luck at school meeting Debbie..
I changed clothes 3 times this a.m. after stepping outside..well not quite, on outfit was a bit tight..sooo took a garbage bad and without thinking filled her up and dropped it off to Value Village this a.m....will do same for the next couple of mornings..so much clothes, ridiculous, I'll never be a size 6 again..why keep it..and as for my saying some of the clothing I can use for gardening and/or painting, well how many work outfits do you need..so massive purging will go on..I've all those lovely outfits from Florida I bought last visit which will take me through the summer, after that, I'll purchase what is needed for winter...another trip across the border..lol..hear on the news there was quite a speach given by homeland security, don't know if they'll be letting us across..(best not talk about that!)..on my todo over the next few weeks is getting my papers for travelling done...a must..or, I won't be going anywhere...
How are you today Barb? getting any gardening done..
Now where is our Judy..still outside working with that young man who is trying to impress her?..bet she is...
Morning Betty, your running late, or are you at work already?
When I go through and purge old clothes, I just hang them on the front fence, and before the day is over, someone stops and takes them home!
I went to the chiropractor yesterday, and he told me I pulled the muscles, and tendon that go to the rotator cuff, so I need to keep it on ice and heat packs, no lifting, and no sleeping on it! He said to keep it to my side, as if there were a sling. But he said DON'T use a sling, they are bad for your neck! I have to take it easy for about 5 days!
Tubby how you doing today?
LK

Hello All;
Hey Debbie - Both the girls read Twilight....I read a few of the books....I assume that's why the drama teacher chose "Dracula". The girls were really hooked on the books....I thought they were okay - I guess I'm just not in the demographic... :)
Was a little bummed b'c last year they did "Clue" and both nights were hilarious....very excellent production (DD was Yvette the maid). I'm pretty sure it's not a comedy this year....but I had a 'preview' when I got a ride to the HighSchool yesterday ....waiting to get a key to the kids truck and what I saw was pretty good...
Thanks for the coffee LK!
Betty - trying to track down my car right now....DH not answering his phone...he was up there trying to get it towed (again). I should get a new one...but we just haven't saved enough yet....made a vow to pay cash for everything. NO Credit or Credit Cards for me - ever ever again!
Trisha - that looks SO yummy! What is the bread dipped in?
Hugs to all - back in a bit....
Mary
Mary, sorry to hear about your car breaking down, but the police don't like vehicles stranded, and causing traffic jams! Did you call the police and tell them what happened, before you left it? Hope you can find it soon! They charge for every day it is there.
LK
Thanks LK - Yes - I certainly learned a lesson.
It was in the turning lane....so I assumed it was out of the way......but I was wrong....Next time I'll wait for police...
LindaKay sorry to hear you are in so much pain..now you will listen to the doctor right? doesn't take much at times to pull a muscle, sometimes just a quick movement in the wrong direction..feet up, enjoy the rest...have a toasted tomato sandwhich for me will you?
Not enough road traffic where I live to put the clothing outside..my thoughts though I have a large t.v. - nothing wrong with it, keep it in the craft room..have one that is smaller and easier to put on a wallmount so with all the cottage traffic and nice weather on the weekend I'll put it out as well as a water cooler I no longer use...hopefully they will be gone..
don't you find that t.v.'s now are such a disposable items that really you just have to throw them away, no one wants them especially if they are not flat screens..
How did you get to work this morning Mary? bet DH isn't pleased with the situation either...never fails, just home from your holidays and now this expenditure...
Betty, that tomato sandwhich sounds real good!
I'll have one for you too..
LK
We're doing our birthday lunches for the month today, set aside of closing the office for the conference at noon and being at the conference tomorrow and Friday. After lunch we get to stuff packets and pack up the cars. Woo Hoo sometimes we get out early, but this is the biggest conference in a long time, so I doubt it.
Learn lots Crissy so you can keep the office running smoothly...lol...enjoy our lunch..
LindaKay has made me hungry, just might walk over to Tim Hortons and have myself a bacon tomato sandwhich, maybe a donut and coffee...
OH my, drink a cup of coffee for me please, Betty.
Get Better LK !
Oh BLT...maybe that is what we will have for lunch...
Mary it was bread, Sesame Crackers and Cream Cheese!
Laura has a meeting with Doctor they referred her to for her knee...wish her luck....
Wish I could just go hibernate until good weather gets here.....actually, the way I have been this week, just wish I could go hibernate.
Hello Marion, how are things going in your neck of the woods...are you getting some gardening time, lots of sunshine? how did your festival go, know you were pretty busy with the planning stages..sure hope you found a lot of volunteers..
Trisha, you've overdone it, been much too busy doing for everyone, your body is now telling you that YOU must rest and keep well..
Prayers for Laura..let's hope they don't prolong it, that they get on with what needs to be done..
OH/Oh Trisha, changed my mind, because of all the construction doing on in front of the building I just went across the street..stuffed peppers, home fries and onions..ohhhh glad I'm not going to be kissing anyone..
Called Kyle last night and told him I need photo's of our trip, says his laptop is freezing..better unfreeze, I want to do a scrapbook with all our trips for them for Christmas..no, not going to start it now but before those photo's get lost in the shuffle I want them on mine...
Have a couple of stories to tell you once I eat my lunch..brought it back to the office...Paul's here in meetings with our lawyer Colin, girls had some tasks ..Suzanne should be arriving from Toronto at any time..so thought I might as well mind the store
Ah shucks Betty I was so counting on my cup of coffee. Well maybe next time.
Yes, we are getting sunshine but with cool mornings. Had a nice rain last night, not the usual floods like we have been having--needed to slow up as the rivers around us are still flooded. Nope no gardening yet. Have been down since the festival with first one thing then the other. Both of my children are being a little bossy now about my doings until my balance improves. Humm, guess I need to tell them who Mom is again.
Hello All;
Betty - I had a co-worker drop me off yesterday at the High School....ran into drama practice and got the keys to the "Kids truck"....
Sometime we call it the "kids truck" but we make sure they all know it's really DH's. He has a company vehicle....which worked out great once the teens started driving...
Only thing is it's a run down Silverado....something wrong with ignition so takes me a while to get it to start....My tahoe headed on it's second tow ride right now to the shop....Fingers are crossing.... :)
(Tubby - you're right - can't type that way) :)
Betty - You can probably take that photo disc right to a drugstore and they can make prints for you....
Ya'll are making me hungry with your bacon tomatoes....& I love cream cheese! I've never seen a salmon dish like that anywhere Trisha! looks delish !
Hey Marion! How have you been? I might be heading your way soon (last week in May) to visit my Dad in Wewa....
Hugs,
Mary
Hello Mary, let me know when you come, please. Maybe we can arrange to met?
Ah nothing like the salmon you get where Trisha is!!! Love it but then I love salmon and butter tarts, right Betty?
You sure do..nothing like our Ontario Butter tarts and salmon..when Stacey spend the weekend we dropped into my Aunt Muriel's..she lives on a little river, some days you can watch the salmon go down the river bed...all of a sudden I'm scratching my head, is it salmon or is it trout??? will have to check that out and let you know...
LOL happens to all of us!
Hello All;
Marion - if so - it will probably be between the last day of school and first day of DS Summer School. :)
I've been owing Dad a visit... You may remember I'm a Disney Fanatic...so I have this fantasy of turning it into a quick visit there...although it's mostly wishful thinking...
So Salmon is a regional specialty in Wash & Canada?
I love it but about the only time I get any is on Sushi. :)
OK are you ready for 2 miracle stories...
1st one...
Carol, am sure you know of this story..
About 2 weeks ago, these 2 little girls were in the news almost day and night...both dying..parents of the young girl who had a rare disease worked with hospital officials to take their daughter off life support in order than her heart could be given to the other little girl..doctors felt it would be but hours before she would die, had the operating team on hand to perform the surgery but this little child continued to breath..guess she made her own discision between life and death..all were amazed..
Last night in talking to Darlene, she asked me if I knew that my friend Lorna (aunt) and Pam ( grandmother) of this child..I hadn't seen either of them since my move 4 years ago and did not know this..apparently the baby is breathing with help of tubes ..dr's have said she will not live for any length of time, perhaps only months, but hey, they have been wrong so far..
What a fighter....
Story #2:
We have a client, reason she was in need of our services was because she was given only months to live, she sold anything and everything in order to go for medical help in Mexico..spent about 1 year there and came back with clean bill of health..you might recall about 3 weeks ago I think it was, do think I mentioned it on the thread, that she came in and was very distraught..just got news from the hospital that cancer was back and there was nothing they could do, perhaps a few months was what they thought she would live...her father, an ageing man, took a mortgage on his house and sent her back to Mexico, she just called from there to say she would be another 2 or 3 weeks because they had to raise her platelets but that the doctors said there were a few markings but had been dealth with through previous chemo and meds..that one little area looked as though it wasn't serious but because she was there they would give her treatment...she was absolutely thrilled..imagine..
She asked the doctors in Mexico what could have made our doctors tell her such things, they said that our doctors are almost assembly line doctors, no personal care and it's all in the way the tests are viewed...again another miracle..
isn't that something..
Greg just dropped in for a visit, told me to check facebook blog for Jeff...here he's panned out a 15 day cayak trip for July..so unlike him..it's a solo trip on the Trent Waterway system..I just can't imagine..his blog giving info on his trip/stops/equipment/supply needs is very well thought of..he's the type if it doesn't smell gas he won't drive it..he could very well take the Foxy Lady but on the blog he says he want's a challenge...
Sooo funny, while typing this LeeAnn is putting on his blog...
Jeff your mom says she has 2 more weeks off and would like to know the dates you are travelling, she's not a big fan of you doing it on your own...dad says he'll give her the time regardless of when it is as long as the cause it to 'KEEP JEFF ALIVE'...I can just imagine what his response will be..am so laughing..

Trisha, happy birthday to Sage! Tell her I'm singing her a birthday song...
Guess Crissy won't be back on for a few days with the convention and all, out for lunch today, shutting down shop..it's her anniversary..know she's taking a cruise but it would be nice if she got out for supper tonight with DH..kind of hard when he works the night shift...let's hope there is something special waiting for her when she gets home tonight..
Trisha, any news from Laura...
Mary, you and my daughter!! If all goes as planned, we are going to Disney the first weekend in May. Have always wanted to go to the flower show so this year we are going to try. Almost afraid to make plans as they have gone awry so much in the past.
Marion, I could almost be 'tour' guide for Disney...
One excellent hint for you I think, when you get into the complex go opposite to the crowd, if they are starting their day heading left (as per pamphlet) you go right that way by the time they get to where you are the crowds will be no longer on the 2nd half of your journey..does that make sense??? lol
My best...Epcot..
Oh - Betty - are you a Disney Fanatic too? I'm on disboards.com constantly - (when I'm not on here)
I love giving Disney advice! I started out planning trips for folks on DG.....
LOVE Epcot....the last 3 times we went....we stayed at Beach Club....which is walking distance...
I wish we could go this year but DH NOT a Disney fanatic...so we only go on "even" years....
Is he going to Florida with you in May...maybe you can sneak a trip in just YOU...at one time Mary as Rec. Co-ordinator I did bus trips with seniors, of course many included Disney..also with mom having a place in Clearwater it's just about 1 1/2 hrs away so often make the trip..
Well I feel just that much closer to you now!
You are thinking what I am thinking.....Me & DS Head to Dad's in Wewa....it's only 6 hrs or so from Orlando...maybe DS & I just go....
DH will be working, DD 1 & 2 at summer visitation....
Hmmmmmm..........
How do I get a job as Rec Coordinator? :)
Did your mom just have a Summer Place in FL? The "Snowbirds" as they are called?
Ummm, I am a certified Disney aholic....I need to be in a 12 step program. I have only been twice...once age 18 with my 80 year old grandma....and again in 1995 with a very sick child. So didn't get to see hardly anything...but fell in love with what I did. I have a very bad Tinkerbell fettish...and up until recently, had her on my necklace. She has gotten me through some very very hard times.
I am happy to hear I am not alone in my Disney fettish. That would be my ideal trip with my DH....without kids. So I can really look and enjoy it all. I did love Universal also....but never got to see the other parks.
Debbie
