(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Prayers for you Tubby.

Crissy, for you as well, hope your week improves.

Betty, sounds like you had quite a night.....I love listening to the wind but it drives Porter (our half lab) absolutely crazy. Even a light wind has her hiding in the hall whining for however long the wind lasts unless you pet her the whole time. She and her siblings were abandoned in the forest as babies at time of year when we have a lot of wind and rain......anyone who says dogs don't remember things should have spent the last eleven years with this one.

Sunny today and is supposed to get up to 74...then back to 40-50's and showers starting tomorrow. Figures....Antonio had something come up at home and had to change to tomorrow to do the yard work in our neighborhood.....I did get the front yard weeded out...it isn't such a challenge as my back yard.

Having a lot of fun with the tiny garden. I will probably move the Gnome and mushrooms to a different one soon.....I am almost finished with a garden set for this one....a bench, birdbath, bird house, gazing ball and stepping stones. Will add a small pond as soon as I find a dish I am happy with. Would like to do several small gardens for our annual sale at Church this year. I didn't do any this past year and I rather missed it. Have one last bit to put in the oven. don't know if I will get a chance to post the pictures before I have to leave for our luncheon, but will get them posted at some point today.

Laura, sending (((hugs))) hope you are doing better today.....all we can do is take it one day at a time.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Trisha, make sure you post pictures of your new garden, when finished!

LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

Looking forward to seeing them as well Trisha..funny isn't it, I put my genesis heat set oil projects in the oven to cook, you do the clay...thank goodness for ovens even though I don't cook in them (rarely maybe)

I often wonder why Sailor howls and cries as soon as the telephone rings, many noises which are louder don't affect her, perhaps it's something prior to her coming to live with me..know she was living next to a school and the kids teased her and taunted her, it just came to me, perhaps it sounds like a school bell?

what are you up to Lindakay..how is dad?

Tubby, will be anxiously waiting for an update...sending prayers along with you for your appointment...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Betty, just taking it easy today! I have this big ole knot in my right shoulder and neck, that is killing me, so I go see my chiropractor this afternoon!
Dad is doing well. He loves to sit and watch the birds, and when it gets too hot in the afternoons, he comes inside to watch cowboy movies! That makes him happy. That and ice-cream! LOL
Some dogs howl. because they like the sounds they hear, and try to imitate them. Maybe he likes the sound of your phone?

LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, you can tell it bothers him..maybe just very sensitive to that particular pitch..

Shoulder hurting, most likely you've been working too hard in your gardens..body telling you to relax!

Because my basement is a disaster and there is not much I can do till the flooring is done Saturday, I'll burn tonight..last night and early this a.m. I sat and went through pattern packets..have 3 boxes to burn, 2 I've re-organized into categories and still mega boxes..that's a start to my purging..also have about 4 towers, you know the type with 6 drawers in them...so much craft stuff that I just know I'll never use so will work on that next.. all should keep me busy until Saturday..

Don't want to clean by working the ground in the gardens as yet, still to soon, I'd be purging myself...lol...of many flowers yet to come..so patience on that 'to do'...

Does your dad have a 'birdbook' that he can name the birds that visit? cowboys..how Roger loved to sit and watch cowboys..the odd time I'll turn one one just for him..after being in DC and seeing Audey Murphy (?) grave there was one he was in on sunday and I watch it...

I watched about 1/2 hr. of dancing with the stars last night while working with the packets..don't know why I don't find it as interesting as in other years, maybe because I haven't been following it...

I am so bored....any ideas anyone as to what I can do to fill in my day..don't say work, isn't any work for me...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Have to run but here is a preliminary pic....still not happy with the pond....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, what kind of patterns are you burning?
Dad has several bird books, and he loves going through them!

Trisha, love the garden, but looks like the pond dish is a tad big, maybe something a little smaller? Love the birdhouse, and that bench is very nice!
LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, love the miniature garden, especially love that dish..how wide is the container? Am sure you also made the gnome right? just so pretty..
I'm sure the church would love to raffle a few of them off...

Each and every year I hit the Church plant sale, regardless if the plants are mostly the same year after year I like to help them out in their fundraising efforts..

The patterns Linda Kay are decorative painting pattern packets...just telling Suzanne also that I've an entire bin of costume patterns, smocking patterns and the like, because the boys are now growing like weeds there is no way any of the patterns will be of value ..don't know where to donate so most likely will help keep the fire going...

Baton Rouge, LA

Just popping in a bit.

Car broke down and got a ride back to the office so I'm stuck here.

Debbie - I just LOVE Jeff (fa-fa) DunHAAAAM (That's how the space puppet says it....:) )

I love how 'clean' he is.....only the puppets "say" the off-color comments...and Jeff is just the nice guy......

The "big" boss came in and interviewed everyone today to try to find out why morale is so low....so I'm hoping things will change...

Back in a bit....
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary hope it's nothing major with your vehicle...will DH be picking you up?

Guess things will only change IF everyone honestly answers his questions, sometimes people are too intimidated to do so...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Mary you are so right about Jeff! I love him, he's great in person, especially front row center stage!

Ooooooo I want to tell ya'll soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad! But I can't here.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That sucks, I hate being without a car, drives me nuts. Hope it's an easy fix and not expensive.

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, Jeffff -FaFa was on Dave Letterman, and I just had to stay up and watch him with Peanut. Oh Peanut was out of control...and Jeff just acted so offended! LOL Last year for my B'day...DH made me an Acckmed birthday cake. It was hysterical. I hate birthdays...long story...but he put Silence...I KEEL YOU on top. Made my day! My favorite is when Ackmeds feet "tip" or Jeff accidentally pulls his hand off....if you saw the Christmas video...it is on YouTube if not.

I have been tearing this house apart, little bits at a time, trying to find my sons photo ID he needs for his trip! I don't have $70 for a new one....and he has to have it by May 9th. The school doesn't have an extra photo Id either! They said he has to have a photo ID for the trip to WashingtonDC....Betty did your boys need ID for anything?

Betty, I suggest you get on a print shop program...and maybe design a garden. LOL I did one for my yard....and haven't finished...but am afraid to show it to DH.

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Guys!

well - I'm hoping it's just the battery....I noticed my radio wasn't working....then noticed the whole light panel out....all needles to the left .....thought....well if I am really on "E" I'd better gas up.....so went to turn around in the median and the whole thing just died....good thing I was in the median.

Yup - I'm going stir crazy not having a vehicle... Hoping DH can come get me....the folks that live near me aren't here today.

I'm jealous - wish I could see Jeff fa-fa LIVE ! He came to BR the same night as Homecoming so couldn't go....

Debbie - can you just go to a CVS and have one made? I think I saw them make a passport or something....wouldn't think it would cost much.

I'll bet the ID is a school policy not a DC thing......

Debbie - Love ACHmed.....(I can't figure out how to type that sound..... ACH)

:)

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary...I believe it is A C flemmmmm med. LOL

I think it needs to be some type of a "legal" photo ID either school or Motor vehicle type.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, no, the only time I needed to show anything was at the border..our Health cards have photo I.D...even when we toured the capital building it wasn't necessary to show their ID so Mary might be right, must be a school thing..I'll pray to St. Anthony (Patron of lost objects) always works for me... done, you are sure to find it now..

Mary, maybe it's rusty cables on the battery and once they are cleaned you'll have wheels again... we can only hope...

Not sure Debbie I'd want to design my garden, I might run amuck..I so enjoy the wild thing..plant here/plant there...nothing structured...

1/2 hr. more and home I go..Darlene called said it was raining so most likely no burning tonight..guess it will be lay on the couch and watch t.v....can you picture me doing that?

Crissy I just hate to ask what you've been up to..can just imagine...looking forward to hearing all about it..

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie ! HA!!! ACHflemmmmmmMed......I saw the Christmas special too...
SHut UP ! I KEEEEEEL you!

Ladies - if you don't know what we're talking about....google Jeff Dunham.....I think most our friends will enjoy....and clean humor (for the most part)

Betty - I hope you're right....I think I had that problem once and someone poured a Coke over the battery....

Amazing how it cleaned it right up. I had to give up Cokes for a while after that. :)

But it's a 2002 so might be something else Thank you Lord that it didn't break down on the trip.

Got a ride to the High School in a bit....

Hugs,
Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mary, Roger used to use coke for same purpose also to clean some of his metal parts..I always got the lecture on how bad it was for me..once he put a steak in a pan and put pop on it, yuk/yuk and more yuk..still drink coke though, well not really, changed to pepsi but much the same..

Will look up your comedian, I'm sure I've seen him before..haven't had a need for a comedian since our 'Tubby' joined us..lol...heavy competition..

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, this was my B'day cake DH made....as you can tell his own creation.

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy
Victoria Harbour, ON

Why was Jeff Foxworthy the comedian I thought you were talking about..off to check your MAN our!!

Lyndonville, NY

Oh no, Jeff Foxworthy is a hole other ballgame...He is in the redneck crew with Bill Engvall, Larry the Cableguy and Jim White.

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie - I think your DH is very artistic! Looks just like Achmed!

Betty -it's Jeff Dunham

Well - what I learned today.....left the vehicle in the turning lane. Police have towed it to about 1 hour from my home....$180. Now I have to turn around and tow it to a shop....Another $$$. And not even fixed at that point.....

Yuck!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'll just say boss got mad... :) :) :) :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

with WHO Crissy? You?

Mary, now that's not good, you would think that knowing someone had to leave their car because of mechanical problems that they could overlook it..drats that's terrible, you must be sick to your stomach..and now, towing to a repair shop..you'll just hit the roof if it's minor...not good..

Tubby, coming to check in on you?

Girls, did get to see your comedian, he was doing an act with a pickle and a little creature, guess Debbie it was your cake person, had to leave, end of day .. it will give me something to look at tomorrow..heard my boys talking about him now that I've seen him with the puppets...

2 excedrin migraines, hot chocolate, already bathed and in my jammies and off to bed I go..lordy is it even 6pm??

Baton Rouge, LA

Crissy - what's up?

Hey Betty - Yes - I took it out on DH a bit. He couldn't get a tow truck right away. Folks are saying it's probably the alternator...so not sure how much that will be - drats....

Yes - your boys probably know Jeff Dunham....I like him because he has such a clean act! It's just those doggone puppets that say the questionable things..... :) It quite shocks Jeff as he trys to teach them to be nice.....

Oh - how is the steak with Coke? I've always heard about that, never tried it....

Who's on the night shift tonight?

Headed to Disney blogs....back in a bit...

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, the "Pickle" is actually "Jose Jalapeno...on a stick" but with a heavy Mexican accent. He is usually with the purple puppet...known as Peanut.
Walter is the best known puppet, he is the cranky old man...hysterical.

Crissy sorry your having a bad day. I hope it is all workable.

I ended up crashing at 6:00, woke up at 7:30. I hope I can sleep tonight. Ugh!

Have a restful night, most likely I will be back in a bit.

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Debbie - No no - not on a stick.... on a Steeeeck :) :) :)

Do think our Betty will enjoy Walter...

Hugs
Mary

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL! I love all of them, they are way cool.

How do you send a mass dmail?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Chrissy, go to your home page and look down the list to find : manage your friends and friend groups. It'll show you there, I think. Pretty easy.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Sharran & Crissy!

How are you both doing tonight?

What's up?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm going to send ya'll a dmail about my doings at work :)

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Hope so, you left us hanging.

Did you figure it out?

Hey Mary, sorry about your car. What a bummer.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All;

Yes - Crissy - must be a good one. :)

Yeah - quite a bummer....I got a ride to the High School so I'll drive the "kids truck" in the interim....Just learned a lot today about breaking down....

Hope it's not too much $$.....seems that right when we are able to put $ towards the 'next' vehicle.....something breaks down.

Crissy - the "Big Boss" met with all of us today re: bad morale for the last few years...it's about time but I'd be willing to bet he doesn't listen to our suggestions....we all pow-wow'ed after our meetings and provided good points. We'll see.

Sharran - did you have another beautiful day? get to play in the dirt?

Hugs,
Mary

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

It was a nice day, sunny but with a chilly wind. I did plant my pieces of potato that I found growing in the bottom of the cabinet. Does that count?

Baton Rouge, LA

Definitely!

How does that work? Do you get 1 potato for everyone you plant? Or when you cut them up does that make more?

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

You get one plant for every piece that has a sprout on it. Then in fall when they are ready you dig them up and may find dozens per plant. One potato for every bloom, probably, or something like that. I have not done it in a long time, but I had forgotten them, and they were growing, so why not. They are a sort of pretty plant. Nice little flowers anyway.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Take the old potatoes, and cut them up, so there is at least one eye. (wanna be sprout). Stick that in the dirt, and you will have potato plants, then lots of potato's later this fall! My grandpa did that all the time!

OK, I am gone, see you in the morning.

DSIL JJ is doing okay...Very sore..His Dr said it was one of the worst hernias he had seen..He should of had it taken care of long ago

Long day ( it seems )
A little boy wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks,
but nothing happened Then he decided to write God a letter
requesting the $100.00 When The postal authorities received
the letter to: God , USA , they decided to send it to
the President.

The president was so amused that he instructed his
secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill.

The president thought this would appear to be a lot of
money to a little boy.

The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 bill and sat
down to write a thank-you note to God, which read:

Dear God: Thank you very much for sending the money.
However, I noticed that for some reason you sent it through
Washington, DC ., and those jerks deducted $95.00 in taxes

Nite All Tubby
