I did get the Spanish Flags and the yellow and Acapulco Blue MGs' planted, so I'll be anxiously waiting for those to bloom.

That blue in your last pic post is beautiful!

Nice blooms! I can't wait to see your photos of Acapulco Blue MGs.

You know ... I am glad that it isn't just me. My MG vines grow fast and furious too! And then die after about 2-3 months. I thought it was something I was doing, but I think in this hot climate. They just have a shorter life span here in central/southern Florida. Or at least that has been my experience.

I am growing the Pink Flaked and get tons and tons of blooms everyday. I can see that the vine is producing a ton of seed pods now. I wonder if that also shortens the vine's life? Seed production might trigger the final stages of it's life cycle?

Not too many things can thrive in this heat. I never get my MGs to last through summer, though I sometimes can pull them thru fall and winter bloooming. I already have lots of seedlings coming up in the garden and directly underneath these vines. They just fall and grow!

all heavenly, but especially that last one - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=6605329 -

Colin, do buddhists value moderation so much that soaring up with GardenPom's mgs into the sky would be too hedonistic for them?

Glad to see that you are still getting lots of blooms even as the vines start winding down in growth and life cycle...

If I see more blooms, I'll save you some, Debra. I am closing this thread, since most of my plants are done blooming. I am hoping the new ones I started will bloom, but they are still small. I'll add any future blooms to the regular MG thread. Thanks for your interest, and thanks again to bluespiral and beckygardener for sending me the seeds for most of the varieties you have seen here. I still have more varieties from them that I will plant next season. Looking forward to that.

Glad you enjoyed what I sent you! I look forward to your future blooms, too! :-) Great photography!

Thanks, Becky. I'm amazed you are still getting blooms. I'm hoping the few I started late spring will survive the summer. How did your Spanish Flag do last year? Did the summer heat kill it?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

gardenpom - I grew MGs through late Fall the past 2 years. Frost is the only thing that killed mine dead. Though I did get Rust fungus that made the leaves turn funky and fall off. Still got blooms and seeds from those vines, though! :-) I grow them until it turns very cold. And then I grow them indoors in my bedroom window. :-) All seem to do well in the heat as long as they are getting water. Ipomoea nils grow best in the heat, they just need late afternoon sun and water to keep them from wilting.

I tore down my Morning Glory fence this morning, but not before harvesting about a half a cup of seeds from the various plants shown on these threads. I would like to offer some of the mixed seeds to members here, especially to newcomers to Morning Glories. I can't promise what you will get, but if you look back over my three Spring Glory threads, you will see some beautiful varieties. I will send to as many people as I can afford.

gardenpom - Oops! Sorry! I missed your questions about my Spanish Flag vine from last year. Mine never got real big, but kept on going and gave me some seeds before it died. Being annuals, they just don't live a long time especially in zone 10a. But I sure enjoy them for however long they last! :-)

Mine is doing well, I keep checking for buds, but none yet.
