One of the latest leaves of the "Spanish Flag", maybe.

Something happening here....a bud? If it is we'll know soon what the heck this is.

This purpurea here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6454684
has picked up a flaked gene as can be seen by the darker stripes and bands in the corolla limb...

This purpurea here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6454699
is a very nice dark velvety color...

The Rebecca
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6454744
looks like velour with the fine mist highlighting the very fine pubescence...

Gardenpom - The leaf here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6477310
is still looking like
Ipomoea hederifolia , although the flower structures will certainly be revealing in this case...

The photo of the Ipomoea purpurea seedpods here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6477320
is a welcome helpful reminder for species identity purposes because the seedpods of I.purpurea always reflex to face the ground as compared to the seedpods of I.hederacea , I.nil and I.tricolor which always remain erect facing upwards...

I had no idea about the seedpods, Ron. I already have people waiting for these, so that will make getting the right seeds easier.

Looks' like some flowers coming on the mystery plant.

I am still after Spanish Flag, so I planted the rest of the seeds in the packet to see if they turn out to be Spanish Flag. They are all pretty flowers, so it does not really matter what it is. Anxious to see, though.

The buds here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6479551
look like I.hederifolia...

We'll get you some Ipomoea lobata somehow (!)

gardenpom, check Wal Mart. They have the lobata seeds for about a dollar not much more or less . I also have a old package I never planted somewhere but they are a few years old. It would be better to get fresh seeds from someone currently growing it.

P.S. The ones I sprouted from Walmart were good and what they were supposed to be but the vines died in mid summer. I`m unsure what killed them.

I buy lots' of seeds from Wal-Mart, but have never seen Spanish Flags there. I'll check again. I planted the rest of the packet, we'll see what comes up. I know Becky probably suspects I am doing something wrong....but I have been growing plants from seed successfully for over thirty years. Regardless, I love all the beautiful Morning Glories I have been growing, thanks to Beckygardener and Bluespiral.

Another fabulous thread, gardenpom. You just made my day by getting to see all of these flowers.

This tiny plant has had only one bloom and now has this seedpod forming.

This plant here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6492221
is the smallest I.turbinata that I've seen producing a seedpod...

Could you post a frontal of the dark purpurea previously shown as the lower bloom here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6491124

You always seem to get (significantly ) better than average unusual colorations...di-vine accident (?)...or is somebody watching out for you 'up there'...(!)
