Gita, I would love a Brug cutting from you, If you don't have me down for one already. Can't believe we are only a week away.
Let’s Swap some plants! II Ric & Holly’s
Lady--
Yes! I already have you down for it!
OK! Once more..................SOMEONE at the Seed Swap asked me for a Maya Brug cutting and i said i would bring it. The one that has the variegated leaves....I only have 2 available--and want to keep one of them.....
WHO WAS IT????? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.....
Gita
Getting caught up here, I think.
Bobbie--- the Elephant ear trees I have are not the garden type. They're tropical trees that can be grown as houseplants like ficus.
Sally-- I have some small spiderwort that has made its way into my lawn from the neighbor's. I think the bloom is more lavender than blue if you would like some.
Stormy-- has anyone come through on the pineapple sage for you? I picked some up at a local nursery and can easily go back tomorrow to see if they've still got it. I think it was $2 for a 4in pot.
Does anyone want a small Tulip Poplar seedling? One has sprouted in my veggie garden. It's 4-6inches tall.
Ruby, do you have any sweet woodruff yet? I'd like to try some. I've been getting into making our own wine lately and there is a May Wine recipe that calls for sweet woodruff that I'd like to try some day.
Gita, if you have any Rose Suovelens brugs left, I'd love one. A brug (of any kind) has been on my wish list forever.
I also have a 'Black Adder' agastache potted up if anyone would like it.
Also, I have a ton of newly sprouted Datura 'Evening Fragrance' babies.

Kubileya--
I have you down for a Brug.....
What does the "Evening Fragrance" Datura look like??????Do you have a picture?
What color is it?
As you know--I have the triple Purple/White Datura Metel and also the double yellow one.....
Both are available.....
Gita
The Evening Fragrance is the white, night-blooming perennial type: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/96744/
I had two big ones, but I don't think they're coming back after this past winter (it got down below zero here a couple of times), but they left lots of babies.
I have a tray of your yellow daturas from seed I got at the swap, Gita. Can't wait to see the blooms on them.
claypa
I forget if i asked you, but i was going through everyone's post, and notice your LA Lily 'Royal Sunset,' if you still have any i would like some. thanks
Okay Nisi, I marked that so I'll remember. I'd grow any of those snow type marigolds you have, and the zinnias or tomatoes sound good too. So many kinds, I don't know how to choose!
Kubileya, if you can pull up the spiderwort for me I'd be tickled. I am pretty sure I reserved a small pot of Strawberry Spinach for you, its a Chaenopodium thing with edible leaves and edible small red berries on the stems. First try for me, I figure if you do Rose Orach you'd be up for this to try.
Claypa:
That was actually my daughter Kat who asked for your Royal Sunset. She is coming with me to the swap. Good thing, because besides the fact that I enjoy her company, she owns the GPS device. I came back to my computer and found the screen full of Googled Royal Sunset images. So she is doing her research before she makes her requests! She is really getting into gardening this year. Many of our plant offerings were sown by her.
The white marigold seedlings are still very small and in the seed starting flat. I'll have to remember to transplant them into larger pots tomorrow so they'll be ready to bring Saturday.
Denise (Nisi)
Can I get any tomato plants from someone who still has extras.
Thanks
Teri
kubileya,
I'll pass on the "Evening Fragrance" Datura....They can grow messy.....but thanks!
My purple Daturas will be small (not even 2")--just so you all know.....like all my other seedlings are this Spring.....It's a bummer--but what can I do?
From past experience--once they get put in the beds, they'll take off...
Gita
Stormy if no one else wants it, I'll take the red rocket crepe and a pachysandra.
Kubileya - I'd love one of the "Evening Fragrance" Datura if you have them? I have a double/triple Purple Datura that reseeded in it's pot, if you're interested?
Also for anyone interested (some of you, including Becky, have them from previous swaps) I have Blood Maple seedlings that my neighbors tree blesses my yard with yearly available.
Finally a decent day, was outside all yesterday pulling weeds and supervising Hubby with the mulch, had to unbury a few plants but things look so much better now. It was a great Mothers Day and I hope everyone had a really good one too.
I feel kind of bad not having any plants to swap but I am bringing some polymer clay items I make and will swap/give away them. Can't wait til Saturday!! Robin
Yep, the week is finally here. Yippie!!!! Can't wait to see my old friends and well as meet some new ones.
Kubi and Stormy - I will bring Sweet Woodruff for each of you. No problem.
Ruby
Ladygardener1
I would love some of your beautiful centaurea if you have enough for me.
Thank you.
Teri
I have some stick on name tags which I would like to bring for us to write our names and DG names on if you guys think it might be a good idea. It usually helps me to get familiar more quickly.
Let me know.
Name tags are a great idea, I know I can't remember anyone's name three minutes after I hear it.
A good portion of us use our real name as our DG name or our name is part of our DG name i.e. Becky, Gita, Sally, Ruby etc so maybe that'll make it a little easier.
I'll bring blank name tags and a marker so that everyone can write their own since there will be attendees that might not be dg members.
R_R_R Thanks for the offer of name tags but I already picked up a ton of them. Keep them for your swap. It's a good idea to put both your DG name and your real name on the tag. I will also have some boxes, trays, plastic bags and potting & marking materials. To help organize your plants for the trip home. Getting excited on this end, too.
Jen, let me check on the crepe and pachys. I gave the crepe and most of the pachys. to a visiting friend this weekend. There might be another crepe sucker and I'll see if there is any of the ground cover.
R_R_R I'll have some centaurea for you. I'll be doing some digging Wed, & Thurs. this is really helping me get my 3 Crazy beds under control again. I should have some "not - promised" plants too.
Chris
Oh, Sally, the strawberry spinach sounds neat! And my son will love it-- he's a sucker for any plant with berries.
Chantell, I'll bring you a pot of Datura babies, no problem.
Thank you, Kubileya - I love anything with fragrance!!
I have 2 mini-greenhouses...forgot to take pics - so googled http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com/shop/index.php?page=shop-flypage-26428 NOTE: this is not it...they are wider and have 3 or 4 shelves. I only have the cover for one (will confirm when I get home). Makwa preformed "alterations" on the other but it is still semi-usable. I will only bring these if someone wants them. I'll try to snap a pic when I get home tonight and post later w/measurements.
Hi Chantell, I may be interested. We're shelf challenged over here. Harry just helped me last weekend, lug some old cinder-blocks as supports for some wood slats that we used to make some shelves. We're in need of shelves. I'm not picky - Harry on the other hand my see it as more "stuff" and we may have to sneak it in the car somehow...do you think he'll notice lol.
My dream greenhouse isn't going to happen any time soon. It is one of those projects that is not a priority and will take a bit of time. Hopefully someday we will get around to it.
My cousin, Bob, has the greenhouse (he designed) that I want to copy. It seems like a simple, easy-to-build design that would be really functional for us. I know just the place for it too...in our hummer garden and I'll move the hummer garden somewhere else!
Here is what his greenhouse looks like. I happened to be over there last month to see if his beach plums were in bloom and I snapped a few photos. Bob's passion is growing dahlias. All our dahlias came from tubers of his -- speaking of which, we have about 6 clumps of extra dahlia tubers we're bringing with us :)
Wind - I'll try to post pics tonight - these are not "heavy duty" - I wouldn't trust the shelves with pots larger then 6" - maybe a few 8" if evenly distributed. Ohhhh to have a greenhouse....how great would that be? And ummm, do butterflies like dahlias? If so if you have any that will be in the yellow/orange/red color scheme I wouldn't mind one or two....please and thank you.
Holly- I want an authentic PA red stone. Can give an authentic AA CO MD ironstone concretion. But they're mostly pretty ugly LOL
Gee Sal, If Holly can't find one , I sure can!!!!
Chantell, thanks, I'd love to see a pix. I'm more interested in the one with the cover.
I'm not sure about the butterflies and these dahlias. I've never seen any great attention being given them other than us! In late summer dahlia blooms are spectacular as cut flowers or as a single bloom floating in a crystal bowl. These are the large dahlias and they do get tall and require staking -- well worth the little bit of extra attention though.
I'll check out what the ID's and colors are. I know one is "snowbound" a lovely, large white dahlia. I know one is missing an ID and will be a "surprise". I'll be glad to ID it though with a bloom photo. I keep records of all the varieties :)
Sally, I've dug up a spiderwort "Sweet Kate" for you, and one I had bought called "Little Doll" but it may have been mislabeled because "Little Doll" should be pale blue, but these bloom white.
midrashist, I also have one extra so called "Little Doll" spiderwort if you want .
Holly and midrashist, if you want I've also dug up a few from my other toad lily, Japanese Toad Lily Tricyrtis 'Hatatogisa' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/79103/index.html . I also have a few xtras.
bifdiehl, I've got some sweet woodruff for you and some xtra. I know Ruby's bringing for a lot of people, but I'll have a little more if anyone wants.
I have 1 small White Snakeroot Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate' that I dug up with some sweet woodruff in with it. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/38299/index.html
I also have 2 suckers to cut off my American Wisteria Wisteria frutescens 'Amethyst Falls' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/56308/. Smaller and more manageable the other Wisterias. One warning, it's fragrance is stinky when it blooms (smells like cat pee). Interested Chantell?
Chantell, we can "discuss the price" on the Holy Basil at the swap ^_^
One more note to anyone getting the Bearsfoot Hellebore, handling the plant may irritate skin. I think that's mainly the roots and sap, not the foliage. That said, I'd forgotten about the warning until after I'd dug them and potted, but they didn't bother me. My skin is not particularly sensitive to stuff, though probably best to wear gloves if handling.
I've updated my list here. If I've forgotten to list someone I've promised something, please let me know.

Kubileya, I'm still interested in an elephant ear even though it's a houseplant type if you still have. I can put it in my office at work. Actually I think I'd better not. I think it may be too big. But thank you.
Claypa, do you still have plant markers? Putting my hand up if you do.

Bobbie - I'll pass on anything stinky - but thanks for thinking of me LOL!!! Four dogs is quite enough. I have an African Mask that needs some TLC if you like the tender EE type plants, btw.
Wind (and others) here is the pic - I still need to go to storage room to see if the one intact cover is down there (might need a backhoe first though...ugh)
Chantell, you have 2 greenhouses right? I might be interested in the one without the cover. I have one just like that with a good cover and would like to have one open one. But if someone wants it more go ahead and give it to them. Remember I'm riding with Critter, space will be an issue :) If your serious about the mask, can I ask if it is really from Africa. My boss is South African and might be interested. Can you take a pic?
Bobbie - I believe this is it http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2574/ Not sure a pic would do anything as I said she needs some TLC - I've not been a good plant mommy to her of late (her space was needed in my bathroom - ugh) As for the shelving thingie - there's only 2 of you that have expressed interest and I have 2 to go. It comes completely apart if that helps at all. Ask the others if they think it would be do-able on the way back and let me know.
LOL Chantell, I thought you meant like a real face type native mask. I guess I'm not very up on my EEs. I think I'll pass on this one. In fact you have me rethinking about the one I asked Kubileya for. I remember last swap when I asked you for an EE and you gave me this monster in a huge pot. I was expecting some little bare root thing in a paper sack :) Loved it though! I'll take the shelf then if no one else wants.
Opps my bad...sorry, Bobbie! This one is in a 6 or 8" pot...it won't be the monster that it's cousins are. Just an FYI - in case you're looking for a smaller sized one to enjoy indoors. One shelving unit is yours then.
Oh, you know we can fit just about anything in the car, Miata! Teri won't be joining us after all :-( but I came home to find a message from Theresa that the "project that ate her life" is finally over, so maybe I can convince her to come along. I've been gone, so even on the way up I don't think there will be as many plants as usual, since my digging/potting time has been limited. :-)
