Thanks Redchic - I always like to be well informed. I love the sambucus, but never seem to have luck with it.
Garden Photos of '09.... #12
cuttings are all huge... can make really good sized cuttings off those if I had the time
It's beautiful! Mine are up but no buds yet.
She also sent white ones but they were just breaking ground so no pics.
I'm off to move sleeping hostas.
nice color Ge!
Thanks Allison and JoAnn
Thanks for coming up with that name Allison.... I couldn't think of the name of that Silene for the life of me last night!
JoAnn... Micro, Macro, everything inbetween, it's all one non-interchangeable lense! lol yep, I like to use it too! The willow that I put a picture of up above, a couple of days ago, would be a pretty close match (for a shrub) to the Silene.
Sure thing Anita!
Very pretty Jo Ann. Always a favorite!
Hopefully very soon for you Pixie.....
Love that pic RC!
no problem... I actually added it to my want list... looks like a winner ... might go nicely with the bed of creeping phlox I have on the one slope... is it good for blocking out the weeds?
It is a winner in my book. it's variegated, evregreen, hardy, and the deer haven't eaten it. It does choke out weeds, but not really fast. There's three of them that I love. Silene: 'clifford moore' (not really a ground cover though), druett's variegated, and then another one similar to that that I also can't think of right now.
evergreen too... really sounds like a winner... thanks!
Such beautiful photos everyone. And thanks so much for the info on the amaryllis.
Great shots, Shelly. Love the depth of field in the first.
Congrats, Jo Ann!
Just went for MoleMax and came home with another hellebore.
.
LOL, JoAnn
you are fast!
I just fall in love with one plant after another.
The newest crush is on Epimediums.
Get a magnifying glass for Epimediums!
I am glad I did not buy the epimedium that I was looking at... the flowers are really worthless unless you are on top of them
lol.....yep, you're definitely a certified plant addict now Jo Ann! going to the store for one thing and coming back with a plant is always a sure sign!!
I agree on the epimediums, but i do love my evergreen ones for a groundcover.
it's a shame they zoom in on those catalog photos and don't put a full size picture so you can see what they really look like
I'm going for the leaf color.Dark Beauty is chocolte.
The yabadabadoo JM is a luvly red! The first lilac looks like grapes.
Yes, that lilac blooms a lavender color, but the buds are much darker.
Very nice, Jo Ann. I love geranium.
Love the pics!
JoAnn, I really like the foliage of the 'Margaret Wilson' Stunning!
