I want to hear about the list of Things Not to do EVER! sounds interesting and enticing
see? what did I tell ya. now everbody is gonna be shopping for everybody else. Seeds, I was looking for a cheese bell last night. How insane is that????
What do you collect... besides plants?
A few from:
Things Not to Do EVER (or EVER AGAIN)
Crazy glue
Leave a coffee bean in the gas jet thingy on the stove
Drain a water bed with an electric pump
Streak your hair with laundry bleach
I can vouch for the crazy glue and a chip off the tooth. Never do it! It stuck to my finger.
I don't have any memories from childhood re: music boxes, etc. My mom, bless her heart is not sentimental AT ALL. I don't think she has a single baby pic of me or my brother, let alone other mementos. I'm a little better than she is, but not by much.
you have that garden sign your hubby bought you :0)
are u talking to me? what sign? I have lots of mementos from him, I was specifically refering to toys, experiences with grannies, pictures, that sort of thing. I have everything my hubby has ever given me. Yipee!, he's home, sitting right in front of me, trip was a success.
yes, you...that sign that says Nery's garden :0)
Yay! Glad he is safe, and I'm sure your very happy he's home
Oh, I'm back to earth. yes, the sign is special indeed, my head wasn't on straight. I'll have to think a little harder, but the only things that I have from my Mom via Grandma are a couple of rings and less than 5 pictures. That's why I'm working hard on that pillow for my Mom, cause it works the other way too. I can't remember many mememtos that I've given her.
Oh, maybe we're just horrid people, I dunno. I'd better call her tonight. She did make the best scrambled eggs I remember eating. She needs to hear stuff like that and let her know that all is well at TJ Maxx, her fave store in the whole world.
horrible people?...no way...some people live more in the now.
Some people just aren't as scentimental as others. Some are too scentimental and save EVERYTHING, lol...
I remember when newlyweds, my hubby was moving out of his apartment and just threw a dumpster full of stuff in the dumpster. I came by as he was doing this and was just shocked. Pictures, military momentos, everything...
I just couldn't believe it, and said so. He said "that is all the past". I'm more interested in my future. Of course, insert newlywed smooch ;0)
But, that is really how he felt. That was just "junk", and "clutter" that he didn't need anymore.
I still have all my junk, lol...I guess I'm more scentimental...or just mental, lol...
I saw an interesting Clean sweep episode. The lady couldn't part with a lot of her stuff. One thing was an old artists box of brushes and paints.
He asked her, "do you paint".
She said no.
"Then why are you keeping it"?
she said 'because it was my grandmother's'
then he made a point that getting rid of grandma's things is not the same as getting rid of grandma...that no one will ever take away her grandmother's memory, but that her grandma would be happier to see someone USE the paints, just like she had, and enjoy them.
She cried and was "released" from some sort of mental burden of keeping all those things of her grandma's and put them in her end of show garage sale.
I'll always remember that...
thats like my dh . he just moved in with a few outfits , of course he lived with his mom still .we were 24 and i lived up the road , but he didnt bring any of his stuff . like he didnt care about any of it and told his mom to toss it when she moved lol
