Dry Creek Run
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today? #97 visit with friends..
This is probably my most biggest pride and joy.
It's my Sanctuary!
I built this little deck for myself about 5 years ago. moved every brick from one side of the yard to this.
LOL, Steve built my potting table so i would use the picnic table anymore.
Last year it became the dump so i didn't really use it much, then it got taken over by weeds.
Tadah...LIZ, I cleaned it out!!
Got to get rid of that table, will put a smaller one there and a couple of Chairs.
Then here is the site, that I will be eventually building my outdoor greenhouse.
Mostly, it is to be a house shaped fence so i can grow some vegtables.
Been a very L O N G time dream!
The pathway you see, I laid in the last two years.
It is also the where I met Betty for the first time via phone!
Of course you also see my fire pit. and not sure but Jumanji is watching ove the her space on the pit deck.
She is the pot girl that Liz and I built! she is excited and waiting paitenly for her "hair" which is inside right now.
Judy Sheez you been busy. I'll bet you are proud of your work.(fun)
I'm between blizzard warnings to the north & tornado's to the south
Raining since noon,harder now..And the wind has been strong all day.YUCK..
Judy you have been cleaning...good for the soul being out in the garden isn't it..love the photo's..omg look at the front garden, ready for planting...no wonder you were MIA last week..
So enjoyed our gabbing session last night..did your company stay until the strike of midnight..hard to believe you all visit at such late times of night...
Been a long day..got the 3 panels sketched..who knows might even start painting tomorrow..all depends on the weather..Greg and Mel decided to stay home tonight so Noah didn't visit..
Tired so off to bed I go..leaving the thread into the hands of the night owls..lol..first on my list is always to come and read what you are all up to..
Mary, don't you forget those photo's of the young man dressed in his finest ready for the prom...
Beautiful birds Judy...went out and put seed today, saw a few bluejays, the assups lol but no cardinal..few robins and doves but nothing like usual, guess they are fighting the storms to get here..tonight I've seen some bees in the house, guess they had been hibernating..
Tubby, you and Shirley play it safe, stay inside and enjoy each others company...
Night/night everyone
Good Lord willing, I'll be around to gab tomorrow...
Thanks Tubby, Yep, i am pretty proud to be done with it.
This is the first in years that I am done with the cleanup before Easter!
LOL, i will be even prouder when DH unloads the the truck...when that happens is anybody's guess
ehehe, should be soon though, because he needs it soon for the next bif deck job he's got coming up.
Oh my goodness on your weather, hope it clears soon for you.
Betty, the panels look great! My friend visited until about 1:00 AM.
LOL, that is early for them...They are night owls.
I enjoyed our gabbing session too, always do...LOL, was funny that Steve was trying to take over my minutes. ahahah, should make him pay for the few minutes...better not or he'll want me to pay for the trip to your house....LOL just joshing around.
You have a good sleep Betty, see you tomorrow.
Goodbye yard debris!!

I've never had much confidence in my technical ability until I read this.
This ought to make you feel better about your computer skills!
==========================================================
Tech support: What kind of computer do you have?
Customer: A white one...
==========================================================
Customer: Hi, I can't get my diskette out.
Tech support: Have you tried pushing the Button?
Customer: Yes, sure, it's really stuck.
Tech support: That doesn't sound good; I'll make a note.
Customer: No , wait a minute... I hadn't inserted it yet... it's still on my desk.. sorry....
==========================================================
Tech support: Click on the 'my computer' icon on to the left of the screen.
Customer: Your left or my left?
==========================================================
Tech support: Good day. How may I help you?
Male customer: Hello... I can't print.
Tech support: Would you click on 'start' for me and.
Customer: Listen pal; don't start getting technical on me! I'm not Bill Gates.
==========================================================
Customer: Good afternoon, I can't print. Every time I try, it says 'Can't find printer'. I've even lifted the printer and placed it in front of the monitor, but the computer still says it can't find it...
==========================================================
Customer: I have problems printing in red...
Tech support: Do you have a color printer?
Customer: Aaaah...................thank you.
==========================================================
Tech support: What's on your monitor now?
Customer: A teddy bear my friend bought for me at Disney.
==========================================================
Customer: My keyboard is not working anymore.
Tech support: Are you sure it's plugged into the computer?
Customer: No. I can't get behind the computer.
Tech support: Pick up your keyboard and walk 10 paces back.
Customer: OK
Tech support: Did the keyboard come with you?
Customer: Yes
Tech support: Is there another keyboard?
Customer: Yes, there's another one here. Ah...that one does work...
==========================================================
Tech support: Your password is the small letter 'a' as in apple, a capital letter ‘V’ as in Victor, the number 7.
Customer: Is that 7 in capital letters ?
==========================================================
Customer: I can't get on the Internet.
Tech support: Are you sure you used the right password?
Customer: Yes, I'm sure. I saw my colleague do it.
Tech support: Can you tell me what the password was?
Customer: Five stars.
==========================================================
Tech support: What anti-virus program do you use?
Customer: Netscape.
Tech support: That's not an anti-virus program.
Customer: Oh, sorry...Internet Explorer.
==========================================================
Customer: I have a huge problem. A friend has placed a screen saver on my computer, every time I move the mouse, it disappears.
==========================================================
Tech support: How may I help you?
Customer: I'm writing my first e-mail.
Tech support: OK, and what seems to be the problem?
Customer: Well, I have the letter 'a' in the address, but how do I get the circle around it?
==========================================================
A customer called the Canon help desk with a problem with their printer.
Tech support: Are you running it under windows?
Customer: 'No, my desk is next to the door, but that is a good point. The person sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window, and their printer is working fine.'
==========================================================
And last but not least...
Tech support: 'Okay, let's press the control and escape keys at the same time. That brings up a task list in the middle of the screen. Now type the letter 'P' to bring up the 'Program Manager.'
Customer: I don't have a P.
Tech support: On your keyboard.
Customer: What do you mean?
Tech support: 'P'.....on your keyboard.
Customer: I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT!
==========================================================
Now --- after reading these don’t you feel like a genius on your computer???? ;-)

IT'S HELL GETTING OLD!
OLD people have problems that you haven't even considered yet!
An 85-year-old man was requested by his doctor for a sperm count as part
of his physical exam.
The doctor gave the man a jar and said, 'Take this jar home and bring back
a semen sample tomorrow.'
The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor's office and
gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day.
The doctor asked what happened and the man explained, 'Well, doc, it's
like this -- first I tried with my right hand, but nothing.. Then I tried
with my left hand, but still nothing.
'Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with
her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth
in, then with her teeth out, still nothing.
'We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first
with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezing' it between
her knees, but still nothing.'
The doctor was shocked! 'You asked your neighbor?'
The old man replied, 'Yep, none of us could get the jar
open.'
Nite All

Hello To All;
Hey Seed/Judy ! I love your idea of naming parts of your garden! I haven't really gotten far enough advanced to have "parts" I really only have a path....and I've jokingly called it (with DH) the "Path of Least Resistance" :)
But I will borrow or steal your idea....and also the one (BEV?) had with a memorial. I'd like to build a memorial part of my garden for Mom. And since I can't visit her gravesite often....It will be a place where I can talk to her and remember her. I just have to figure out the best way to memorialize it and have no idea. Perhaps it will just come to me one day !
Sharran/Judy - Yes -I've been able so far to stick the sedum in other pots for a trade. (So far so good) Made me feel good to find the sedum in the nursery for $3 per pot the other day. It makes pretty yellow flowers...so maybe I can trade or give away.
Pics are just about ready - THANK YOU all for asking (Betty!) - you all make me feel so special!
Hugs,
Mary
Tapping patiently while I wait for pictures....
WOW - I just typed the WHOLE THING and LOST it!
Trying again.
Okay - here's the PROM itinerary:
5p: pics at "A"'s house. (So the backyard is not mine - but it's gorgeous). 6:30p Chaz's Mom has cooked Steaks and Shrimp Fettucine for the whole gang. (DH & I showed up around 8p).
Teens left at 9p for PROM. (DH & I visited until 10p) After PROM, kids go to MK's. MK's parents are cooking breakfast for them. At 2am boys are kicked out and coming to my house for a Super Smash Brothers competition. (I just put out pillows, blankets in the livingroom).
There were 3 kids in the pics that I just met tonight. (Betty - German Exchange Student Rico and DD1's Best Friend are now an "item" ....they didn't show up for pics but joined in at the dinner).
Picture: A, J, T, MK, H, M, *DS*, *Line - Norwegian Foreign Exchange Student*, *Chaz*, *DD1*.
Sharran - That 'evil' yellow iris is in the background....the one DH thinks is going to choke out everything....
Hope I don't lose this post like the last one!
Hugs,
Mary
Oh - meant to tell you - the THEME is "Balle Masque" "Masquerade Ball" so some had masks....I'll try to find that pic...
Beautiful, Mary...Love the feather (?)
Harlequin gloves?? how cool!
Thanks for the picture Mary, Great looking bunch of kids!
Hey Sharran & Trisha!
DD1 put her whole outfit together. Borrowed the dress from Line, found the gloves for $2. Not sure how much the masks were but they were her idea....
We just had the 12:15 "call - in" they are leaving Prom and headed to MK's.
I might be up with ya'll for the "long haul" tonight...so hoping you're all still around...
What's going on in your world?
I'll drift around a bit....then head to disboards if I don't hear from you....
Hugs,
Mary
Been a long night...Church service ran longer than usual tonight......late dinner......then the mother in law called. Brother in law is still in very serious condition....has had back surgery and is still in ICU. DH does not deal well with hospitals...and he has had a very bad cold so we haven't been to the hospital yet. But I have got to get him to at least call his sister....they have never been close, but he still needs to call her......and I can only nag him for so long. She is miffed because he hasn't called......doesn't matter that she or the girls has never, ever called us and we don't have any their phone numbers except the home phone....and they are never at home.
No word on my Uncle....other than he has been moved to a nursing home close to home so that he can have better care and the family will be able to visit more often...guess there hasn't been any change better or worse so far.....we will just wait and pray for the best, it is in HIS hands now.
I am so looking forward to seventy degree weather tomorrow!
Check back in a few.... :)
Winding down here, Mary. It was a beautiful day, and I wandered around outside, but it is still muddy from all the rain last week.
I get crazy this time of year, I want to plant and weed and sure as I do we'll get another little cold blip and I will lose baby seedlings. So I am making myself wait for at least another week. It might get down to about 35 on Monday night, but back up to 50 on Tuesday. That looks like the only cool down we'll get, so maybe...just maybe, next week will be a good time for planting.
Melody has started heirloom tomatoes for me in her greenhouse, so they will be probably ready in a couple of weeks, and I like to plant peppers, too. I do all this among my flowers, because I only have a few plants. And green beans. But that will be in a couple of weeks, in the meantime, I have the wisteria and tulips that I showed you above, plus iris are looking really good too.
Lots to look forward to.
And hugs back.
Hey Trisha -
Well BLESS YOU for trying to keep the lines of communication open. It's sad that folks don't
Realize how important that is regardless of where the relationship is at any given time.
Hoping your Uncle will get MORE visits when he's close to home... I'm not 'there' yet...but would think that would help his condition.
Heard a car door slam.....couldn't be the kids this early?
Hugs,
Mary
Sorry, Trisha, I missed your post.
Tough when things like that happen in families.
Hope for you that it will all work out, and prayers for their health.
Hey Sharran;
AH - I feel in "limbo" as you do as well. I want to PLANT stuff....but I'm too much a beginner,
to realize that "STUFF" that I planted last year may just now show up!
Today I found caladiums that I was SURE I had killed popping up 2 inches from the earth! NEVER expected that!
PLUS - had planned to do a 'new' planting near the palm tree's and now finding portulaca's coming up all around BOTH area's I had planted them in!
So this is my Second year in Gardening. And I am learning SO much. We will probably work out there tomorrow....but good thing we have a Beach trip planned for 4/15 -19....
So the Backyard can get a break from ME. And I can see what IT wants ME to do when I get back!
Chaz & DD1 just popped in to get DD1 a change of clothes....so I know the night is progressing.
Hugs,
Mary
Thank you both.....it is difficult to deal with these things at any time, but having them both within hours of one another.....it is hard dealing with two families.....
I am really tired, think I am going to turn in and get some rest....really hope to get out and enjoy the nice weather tomorrow!! And I want to start on a Fairie Garden!!
Good night everyone, talk to you tomorrow...
I hope they all have a great time, and that sometime you will be able to get some sleep.
Nite, Trisha, I'll be outta here in a few, also.
You all have a good evening, and hugs all around.
Good Night To Trisha!
Good Night if I miss you Sharran!
If I miss both - I'll "see" you later! But I will continue to check in.....
Sharran and ANjl sometimes chime in late!
Hugs,
Mary
Just checking in.... :)
Hugs to All - And a Good night!
